Rule 12 sub rule 6 of( CCS implementation of NPS rules 2021) clearly mentions that employees opting for voluntary retirement scheme after completion of 20 years regular service will be treated as an employee retiring on superannuation.
Before the implementation of CCS implementation of NPS rules 2021 all types of retirement before the age of superannuation were treated as a premature exit but now VRS is also a type of Superannuation retirement where the retiree gets 60% lump sum and 40% annuity.
