    That's excellent training material, though I agree there's a mistake. The NCI should be either 40,000 (200,000 x 20%), or the wording should be changed to "The fair value of Jones's *_remaining_* equity share was 200,000 at acquisition".

    I am going to appear for CIMA MCS exam and these lectures of group accounts from FA and FR have taught me group accounting in the best possible way than CIMA's own material from CIMA F2... Kudos and much appreciation 👍

    @openTution Sir the NCI seems to be incorrect. 200,000*20% = 40,000. I guess this is right. Can you please check?

      that was exactly my thought unless they clarify that it was mistaken that that was the Fair value of the NCI. In my opinion, the additional info was mistaken coz normally we are given the FV of NCI and not of the sub

    14:19 should be attributable to parent , not to NCI. NCI is recorded in the next line. Is there anyone agree with me?
