- In this video I'll have my first train experience in Malaysia. I took the train from Kuala Lumpur to Ipoh. Not everything went according to plan as you will see at the start of the video.
Upon my arrival in Ipoh I had lunch at a friendly restaurant Chef Uni @ Brewster maps.app.goo.gl/5dYGnfTXjZgXZ... and then checked in to my hotel D'Eastern hotel maps.app.goo.gl/az5Z5pugGwEaE...

With my RUclips videos I aim to show a different perspective than what most travel vloggers would do by interacting with people and really getting the local insights of the places I visit. No matter their social background I treat everyone equal. Sometimes this results in awkard conversations but I love it!
**Support my channel and the people I meet**
All donations will go back to the communities during my travels, this can be through staying or eating at small businesses or even donating this money right back through one of my donations projects.

Chef Uni, the abang or owner of the restaurant, is undoubtedly a well-spoken citizen of Ipoh who is knowledgeable and friendly about cultures and promotes information about the Ipoh area. I think Tim, you are fate to meet the great people when you are hungry or the need to find the restaurant. Like the nasi lemak lady :)
betul lah.... aku rasa Tim ni orang baik sebab tu selalu jumpa orang baik-baik...
This is the first time I watched your video and it made my heart beat fast. I was so worried that you wouldn’t be able to catch the train!
Durian is known as the king of fruits, and mangosteen is known as the queen of fruits!
Some people in Southeast Asia eat mangosteen after eating durian. According, it is said that way can bring the best balance to the body!
You said that your backpack is your friend, I feel you are so lonely. This is so sad for me!
Thank you very much for sharing, looking forward to the next episode, I am legend! 💪😁👌
For the next, pls ask people's arround to avoid confused... Malaysia people's can help you ❤❤❤
For the next? 😂😂😂😂. Next what?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@Ayah_Mianext time 😅, in our language we use only next (nanti) to say next time ...
@@SHUKERYHAKIMIF ahh.. Got it mate!! I thought he was referring to what's next 😂😂🤔
Hi 👋 Tim you always find kind people because you kind too 👍👍👍 enjoy your trip at ipoh
I agreed 💯%
Tim Tense will become Tim Stressed if he is late😂😂😂😂
Everywhere you go, Malaysians are so Helpful❤ Hopefully it will ease your journeys here🙏🏼
I totally agree with you on the travel arrangements situation when in a new location, it's stressful and fingers crossed that everything will go as planned. Anyways, as far as Malaysia is concerned, all you need to do is ask when you need assistance or direction. Everyone will try their best to help. By the way, Ipoh is a foodies paradise, and the dishes to go for are the Salty chicken, shredded chicken Kueh Teow in clear broth, Tau fu far( Steam Beancurd dessert) and Poached Chicken with steam rice. There's a street called Thong Sui Kai which you must visit in the evenings.😊
Malaysia and Thailand are the most welcoming and kindest in Southeast Asia…..while Singapore and Indonesia can be quite rude sometimes
Filipinos are nice too.
However german vlogger like carlos will say otherwise.
The most important thing for traveller is the safety. indonesia and filipino crime rate is so high compared to Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Brunei.
@@AkuCintaIslamVideo because population is big. Anything above 100 m people usually will have problems eg trash, crime, accommodation and transport problem. The exception is japan and China.
Tim ,you're a polite vlogger.Stay safe and take care wherever you're 🙏 God bless, with love.
Amazing! Loved coming along on this adventure with you! Food looks fantastic 😍🇲🇾
Thanks for joining!
People always confuse with KL Sentral Station & Kuala Lumpur Station. Even the local too
Yes two different place
Akk pun pernah.! Salah keluar train...jenuh!!
‘Daulat Tuanku’ means long live the king.. it is normal, you can see everywhere on the banner, billboards in Malaysia’s sultanate state such as Johor, Selangor, Pahang, Kedah, Kelantan etc..
Chill bro every bad experience is a good experience in due time when looking back at it later... thats life. Its not how fast u get there, its the journey that counts 😉
Happy exploring Tim & stay safe always🤗
Watching your vlog is not boring 💤 you're so friendly 👨 all the way can 🌊 green views 😅 Ipoh nice place too.the food delicious 😋 friendly chef also 😂 have great da🌿
cant wait to watch yr next vid..love..
Its good to arrive early n stay calm all the time😊 definitely KL station and KL Sentral station r 2 different thing. The KTM gate at KL Sentral is only opened shortly before departure so not to confuse passengers of different schedules. Keep us updated with your journey.
Actually, for mangosteens the reason for the ban is a bit different. It's not because of the smell. For mangosteens, it's because of the stain that you can get from the outer layer if the fruit. It's a nightmare to clean.
yup, sometimes it will never go away. Even your teeth will get stain too 😂😂😂
Tim tense really get into tense situation now lol......Tim wish u a pleasant journey to d northern states of Malaysia lots to explore mate
Hi Tim
Tqvm to visit Malaysia & made many videos on beautiful places & awesome foods that we have here

Hi Tim I wld recommend that you do ot miss Kek Lok Toong. get a grab or rent a scooter to get there. N dont miss the portugese egg tarts from Nam Heong Coffee Shop in old Town. Another dish you need to try is the Bean Sprouts Chicken (nga choi kai). The places to try this is either the Lou Wong restaurant or the Onn Kee Restaurant,
Hi just subscibed to your channel although I have watched a few. You are a generous person and wiill try not to skip the advertisements unless it is super long 😅
Welcome to My Hometown Tim Tense #SelamatDatang Ke Ipoh Perak Darul Ridzuan 😊🤝
Cameron Highlands is much cooler so hope you have a cardigan for the evening. Beautiful place but difficult to get around without own transport. Just subscribed.
Good luck😊
Consider all your plan busted the moment you decide to explore to another new place. It's not your fault because everything is new and different from your norm lifestyle. But that is a blessing cause you can learn many new things. The world is vast. So take your time and be careful. Ask the local if you don't know something or direction. The locals can help you.
ETS: electric train service
The semi high speed intercity train
KTM komuter : use by the local to move around the city and it outskirt
You can travel to Cameron Highland from Ipoh, Meru Bus Terminal (or AmanJaya). If you like adventure.. you can go to gopeng for white water rafting.. you can try Ryoq Radak Riverside Camp and there is also Gua Tempurung Cave if you like caving. In Ipoh try to visit many Chinese Temples near beautiful Tasik Cermin. They have cave temple just like Batu Caves.
From the way he speaks, i can tell that chef uni is a real local. It’s good for u to have met him, he knows Ipoh better
Fried kuey teow is a special dishes in ipoh.. when u're in penang later, u should also try penang char kuey teow and also penang assam laksa..
Nice recomend chef uni, i can try
If you want to experience rural malaysia, you can go to Suka suka resort in Lenggong, about 1hr from Ipoh (by car).
The restaurant owner very famous among utuber..😀
Im a legend gengs.. Love your videos Tim. ❤
Welcome to IPOH bro..
Nice gentleman giving some tips
You came to the right restaurant!
After visiting Penang, you can head to Langkawi Island to stay for two nights.
Durian in an enclosed area lingers for a long time. Mangosteen is not allowed becos it will leave permanent stain. We never had tuk tuk and we are happy about that becos it will make it very chaotic.
Durian is the king. Mangosteen is the queen. King can't live without the queen. That's why both not allowed.😂😂😂
finally somebody explain about them..i was about to do the same haha!
I had similar experience too. I'm suppose to catch express bus from Puduraya Bus Terminal. I took LRT to Pudu station, it turn out closest station to bus terminal is Plaza Rakyat Station. Good things i'm 30-40 mins early so manage to arrive on time. Sometimes station name can be bit confusing.
Hello watching from Borneo 👍👍🥰🥰
11:57 - What was visible from the window was the view of the train crossing the palm oil plantations. 🚞
27:29 - You should try eat Pandan Nasi Lemak ( rice in green colour )
Must try Nasi Ganja .. 😂
You can checkout Yinzo, Chang Jiang white coffee, Capati Shop... Gd food...
Kuala Lumpur Stn. is Hua Lampong old station if u r in Bangkok. KL Sentral = Khrung Thep Aphiwat /Bang Sue Grand Stn. New and old but still in operation just close each other
Suruhanjaya Lian is watching.. 😀
Barua tu jangan seru muncul selalu .. Hahaha 😂
Om tu nyanyuk..
😁😁
Dia sibuk kat rembang batam skrg....
Aku dok perati je
I believe Chef Uni was referring to Cameron Highlands, not Genting Highlands.
Meeting more authentic Malaysian is easy outside of Kuala Lumpur ,
Cameron highland is nice but the road is scary , maybe for me if I was about to go there by bus 😅 . It's not like genting highland it's more to nature compare to genting , genting got a lot of amusement park casinos clubs etc ,
Going to Cameron alone might be boring but if u got a partner or family then it's more suitable place .
Along the roadside u can see alot local tribal small shop if u are looking for a special gift within peninsular Malaysia then it's half of the jackpot there .
Anyway, enjoy your day and be safe buddy .
You like malaysia you good people
Welcome to Ipoh... My hometown😁

Please visit Cameron Highland, 😍👍❤️❤️❤️❤️🇲🇾
Mangosteen is the sap issue, purple colour. Does not come off
We never have tuk tuk. For me, Tuk Tuk is weird.
I hate tuk tuk.. very messy and always caused chaotic..
Does indonesia have tuktuks?
@@mehmeteminkadiroglu1994 yes. In Indonesia, its Called bajaj. Malaysia don't need tuk tuk. Even Ojek (Motorcycle Ride Services) also no need in Malaysia.
@@mehmeteminkadiroglu1994 they have very old and dirty tuktuks,.. that's why one of the reasons Jakarta is the most polluted city in the world..
@@mehmeteminkadiroglu1994 They do have various type of tuk tuk, you don't want to experience the mess of jakarta streets. Malaysia don't need them, they only create mess and dirty.
👍👍👍
14:10 My father once accidently leave durian inside his car bonnet overnight. The car smell for nearly 2 weeks. Mangosesteen is not allowed because Purplish-red stain is nearly impossible to remove.
Welcome enjoy Travelog weekend holidays in Ipoh Perak Malaysia Next trip try too Cameron Highlands 😋👍' n trip to Penang ' too Penang fly AirAsia to Langkawi island. ..cuba bro Tim to Langkawi island .super friendly
Hundred plus sir.😊
Hi, please stop by Taiping before going to Penang. Many historical first are in Taiping.
You are really legand
Bbb
Most of old office buildings and railway stations in Malaysia were built during British colonial.. that's why they're repainted white..
"Daulat" can mean "sovereignty" and "Daulat Tuanku" carries with it the notion of supremacy of the sovereign. These are fundamental principles that have been ingrained into the Malay psyche, even among the more liberal-minded ones.
Because the oldest kingdom in southeast Asia is located in Malaysia. The kingdom Kedah Tua with its legendary kind named Merong Mahawangsa.
You must go to Kellie's Castle
❤❤
Thanks for stopped at this restaurant so next time i can bring my Ipoh girl wife to eat there
As for the drink, call it "hundred plus" next time. Just "hundred plus" 😊
❤
34:43 - That is a reminder and guide for hotel room renters in case of fire
we love u Tim sir from SriLanka
As a foreigner/traveller in a foreign land please open your mouth and ask the people around you for information. If you're in doubt or for anything you need to know open your mouth. We Malaysian are more than happy to assist you or anyone else for that matter.
A $27 ringgit per day one room hotel with no gym nor swimming pool is more costly than the same price in a KL hotel with a gym and a swimming pool.
If you like football, you definitely definitely definitely need to experience the football scene in Malaysia. It will be a once in a lifetime experience and the crowd is awesome😀😀😀😀
go to escape theme park in penang for fun activities !
Muslim friendly means the food are halal
Cave temples!
Enjoy ipoh and perhaps cameron highlands?
Notice....Jika berlaku kebakaran, jangan gunakan lif.....gunakan tangga....meaning....In case of fire pkease do not use lif....use staircase .
8:40 , technically, it is windows seat, just not windows view
From KL you should make your way up north slowly through Malacca or Cameron Highlands, Ipoh and then Penang.
