Great interview for perspective Singapore customers who are trying to decide between model 3 and Y. It's amazing how much each benefits each bring to their owners and that it increases over time. Great job Daren and congrats Eugene on your new Tesla model Y!

The reason to buy a Tesla is safety, battery technology, advanced engineering (thermal management, octovalve, etc.), OTA updates, supercharger network - not storage.
Watch the Sandy Munro videos -- 99% of his employees have Teslas.

I agree, when I was deciding on which variant, it will be best with a LR in SG.
Currently I’m having a dilemma. SR range is too little. Perf range is better, but acceleration in SG isn’t really necessary but fun to have.. until we reach the next traffic light which we have so much of it. Plus the road tax and insurance is higher on Perf. Why can’t we have the LR sooner!
Thanks Daren & Eu Gene for the content!

LR is an ideal option for many owners! It also has more range than the Performance variant. May rent a Model Y LR in US later this month.

There are better options out there besides a Tesla. I used to own a Model Y Dual Motor, ended up trading it in for. RAV4 prime. Model Y is not a luxury feeling car especially for the price, stiff ride noisy as hell cabin and lots of rattles felt like a tin can.

Good on you both on showcasing Model Y which has many interesting pluses. It is amazing that Tesla delivers driving and features control experience via the large central console/ screen versus the conventional ways. Changes for the better. After months of following Tesla’s EV, it gets more oomph for me in relation to matters on reduction in greenhouse emission and noise pollution.
Regenerative braking is great for safety besides cost savings on brake pads etc. Ability to control distance of the vehicle ahead is a good feature for safety. Camp mode is cool for staying inside Model Y and no CO2 to the atmosphere - wow! Very nice for holidays if I want to sleep inside Model Y. There were cases of children left alone in cars during hot and humid weather resulting in horrendous situation. This unfortunate event can be avoided in Model Y. There is Dog mode too 😃
    Cheers

Thanks! The recent voice isolation feature on Final Cut Pro has been a big help. I use a shotgun mic mounted on top of the camera for most videos.

the new tesla model redesigned powertrain pack with battery make it difficult for repair which means higher cost if minor damage to the powertrain and may risk of battery damage

    • @DarenYoong
      @DarenYoong  2 года назад

According to Sandy Munro, if a structural part of the car (battery pack or Gigacasting) is damaged, the car has been in such a significant crash that it wouldn’t have been salvaged either way. There are crash absorption parts on Gigacastings that are replaceable.

You dont get too much roll compared to X3 because the CG is low as the battery is positioned at the base. Its not because they have improved it. Its just pure physics.

A Quarter Million Singapore Dollars is pretty hard to get a Tesla Model Y especially the Middle Class earners earning SGD$35,000 to SGD$50,000 annually.

The Price of the Model Y in Singapore includes the rebates.
      Deduct SGD$45,000.
SGD $25,000 Vehicle Emission Scheme (VES)
Early Adopter Rebate, 45% of additional registration fee (ARF)
      cap at SGD $20,000
Without these 2 schemes, the Price of a Model Y RWD will be more than a Quarter Million SGD Dollars.

Please remind folks, as the Model Y driver guest commented. Improvements yes. In fact 25 Improvements often every week as Joe Justice says after hired as a factory "agile" specialist and various amazing accomplishments of his own vehicle building and developing. Joe Justice also acknowledged 27 instant assembly line changes a week is not uncommon. Legacy automakers usually wait a year before Improvements.
    Shanghai gigafactory quality, yes.
Tesla Shanghai gigafactory makes slightly better quality than Teslas made in US and so Shanghai gigafactory is rewarded with another gigafactory extension.
To much to list but research more,
and have more healthy happy prosperous years ahead.

Yes, Eu Gene got a rear parcel tray (I folded it up during filming). We don’t receive a mobile connector in Singapore because 3-pin chargers aren’t currently allowed in Singapore.
