Just amazing how much ground you cover on a weekend,it's a powerhouse and a giant weed eater, nothing like a cup of coffee at 5am and watching you cut, appreciate you so much taking us to work with you, never been around these hot saws much in my time in the woods, lot of hand cutting ground lead
Another awesome video my friend and what is that red light blinking for in your cab and it looks like that timber is about 100 to 120 foot tall is what it looks like to me but that looks like some good cutting right there but anyway you stay safe out there and we’ll see you on the next one
@@wantowski987 OK well that makes sense. I never thought about that but I thought maybe it was something to do with your hydraulics but anyway, my friend you have some safe cutting and I hope that you get to keep that 870 hot saw because I can see that you are really enjoying that and I don’t blame you I would take a hot saw any day over a bar saw so stay safe out there, my friend, and keep whacking and stacking
Hey man serious question how long and how difficult is it to become a feller buncher operator? I’m 19 and I’m doing my last year for a marketing degree which is like complete opposite from this work but this has always been one of my biggest interests and I’ve always like wanted to be one
I think it’s best to shovel log first too see how things log out the best and to see what other people do when they cut! See if anyone is hiring in your area and let them know what you are looking to do for a job, running buncher can be difficult at first figuring out how to lay the units out and doing lead changes without making a mess lol but it my favorite job in the logging industry 👌🏻

Thank you! Yea I’m thinking about 100-110ish tall maybe! Good production size for the processor 👌🏻
The red blinking light I think is my GoPro

Nobody ever guides me on to the float..Lol..
Love your videos friend! You may have already said, but how will this unit be logged? Yarder, skidder , shovel?
Shovel logger will swing it to the landing
Do you have skidders, for easier ground like this?
Not to much! A lot of the tree farms we work for don’t let us use Skidders due to ground compaction 🤷🏻♂️
