This particular video is how to slice lemons. When learning how to cut a lemon for the bar, know that there are 3 different ways you can slice lemons - into lemon slices, lemon wedges or lemon wheels.
Either way is fine except that lemon wedges are a lot larger than lemon slices. Cutting fruit is not at all difficult but you'd be amazed how many bartenders do it wrong. Make sure you're not one of them by watching every minute of this bartender tutorial on how to cut lemons.
Note that the MOST IMPORTANT PART of cutting fruit for the bar is to remember to cut the little slit in the middle of the fruit so that it can sit properly on the rims of glasses.

@honeyflash1 Appreciate the kind words and I'm glad to be able to help. I remember the financial struggles when I was first starting out in this biz.

@ramiBudemaris My pleasure. Learning how to cut fruit is one of the basic skills a bartender needs to learn but for some reason so many bartenders get it wrong.
I found this very helpful!!!
@WweMariaa Glad to be able to help. I'm still amazed after all these years at how many people behind the bar don't know how to cut fruit properly. It's great that you are no longer one of them ;)
thank you for the video.
Thank you very helfull!!
I've mastered 🍋 cutting multiple times at home. In fact, I watched an episode of Cheers which inspired me on how to do it properly. Won't Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson be impressed with my success? 🤣! Safety first when you learn how to do this procedure well at home in times of either being a "stay-at-home" bartender or a "sheltering-in-place" barmaid. It's very important to make sure that you don't overdo it with placing either types of citrus fruits into alcoholic beverages to people who are 21 years old or higher than 21 years of age. If you plan to bartend children who are newborn babies, infants, toddlers, preschoolers and School-Agers, you must consider serving non-alcoholic beverages such as lactose free milk, sugar free juice, sugar free or caffeine free soda, etc. You may add some Maraschino 🍒 to the carbonated soft drink if you wish. Newborns and infants usually drink hindmilk or formula from their mothers, because there's a lot of nutrients that will help them live and grow well. Plus, it'll help develop stronger IQs.
helpful absolutely.

Oranges can be cut in complete wheels or as above. Make sure you make the cut in the middle after you cut it in half.
What about limes?
YES ONLY CUT LIMES!
Me: I'm hungry but mom not awake
Me: let's make lemons
Thank you!
How dare you
I don't know, I don't remember watching this.
Lemon is yummy 😋
@timothybarnes1980 Nice to know. I'll make sure to strike your bar off my list if I ever decide to visit the UK (please do give us the name of your bar). Maybe you could add a little more info if you think there is something wrong with the vid.
Good method. I'm using this now for gin and tonic season. :-) I tend to freeze a whole bunch of lemons cut in this way so that I can take out slices as I need them (though finding a way to take out just a couple of frozen slices is difficult when they've all stuck together, but there are probably tricks for that in another vid!).
David just cut fresh everytime, enjoy.
AHHHH! MY GOD HOW CAN YOU PEOPLE WATCH THIS?
Found this awesome - Hola from yorkshire
What about the seeds?
clever!!!!
On the show Cheers.. why does Sam and Woody cut their lemon in a weird way?
Now i can do proper Cut lemon match with Tequila boom boom 💋Thanks!
why the lemon piece fixed to glass?
Jss Kumta like a garnish, some people want it in and some don’t.
aaaaaa jes gluuuuuuup ispo ti limun iz reda hahahaha
A lot of people cut this way, but why cut of both ends? This way you always get in trouble cutting the last slice. 😁
Is it weird that I just cut it in half and eat it with salt??👀 I mean it taste good 🤌🏻
Never tried freezing lemon slices. Why don't you try cutting as much as you need for each shift and then putting any remaining slices - covered by a wet napkin - in the fridge for the next day
This is not for Tequila
It's upsetting that you cut lemons wrong and people say thanks. How do you squeeze a flimsy slice of squared fruit... How to actually cut: The fruit is cut in half long ways, then cut by 15-20 degrees around the outside toward the center so the rind is bigger and the cut that goes on the glass comes to a point. Like 'V'. Have you ever used your garnish? Your fingers are going to go everywhere if you actually try to squeeze it.
Good and yummmmy I just ate a lemon
I am disappointed in humanity
I just made this 69 comments. You’re welcome
Why do you cut of both ends? This way you always have the last slice a bit fat and ugly.
😂😂
I was way off
I cut myself but now I can eat lemons
Lemonanity autopsy 😱
I wouldn't have you work in my bar.
terrible knife skills
I thought that after 2 years lol
