if you’ve ever seen the carnage and aftermath from a boosted motor blowing up, youd know how legit this demonstration is. cast pistons legit explode if anything goes wrong, forged slugs can save your block from having an inspection hole in the side of it lol

Just from experience if that's a SBC it's still gonna run, not gonna sound good but it will, I have a forged 0.60 piston with a intake valve that broke off and flipped around and went straight through the top of the piston and into the connecting rod and wrist pin, cracked the block on cylinder 7 and completely blew that end of the head off the block, made it the 5 miles home firing on 6 cylinders and never fell below 100mph
I’m an engine builder too so I totally get what you are demonstrating 👍🏻 but you kinda hooked that cast piston right on the edge above its weakest spot-the ring land and then went straight down on the forged piston. Just saying! But yes, the cast piston doesn’t stand a chance against detonation versus the forged piston! 👍🏻
The expansion rates are different so the bore diameter will be a little sloppy for the forged pistons. But after the pistons warm up the clearance is the same.
Forged piston are what blue prints are based off of. That fist motor they make when designing at the factory is made with forged part. They mass produce with cast pieces for affordability. So you are wrong 100 percent.

This means more blow up while the engine warms up and increased emissions, which they can't get away with anymore.
I knew forged pistons were stronger than cast, but this really puts it in perspective. It also adds new meaning to pistons breaking in a top fuel engine!
I had bought a "forged" piston for my motorbike a while back and tried to install it with the end of my hammer (plastic handle) but covered it up with a thin cloth rag so I didn't scuff anything. 7 taps in and the center ringland shattered and compression ring bent...then my heart shattered after I realized what happened. (R.I.P. cheap eBay 196cc piston)

Dear standart owner with a economic standart engine, I think you never ever need a forged piston set with non standart rings. And dont like to bu stronger conrods. But = Yes the sluminium is more dense and the crystal structure is far better than ... Dear standart owner if you have a lot of additional money left ... ... invest these money for anticorrosion. Just my two cents. Your choise ! Yes it is nice to drive a standart engine with more power and torque (after changed a lot of parts and buy some forged pistons) . My word before we took the engine in all parts and searched for additional torque and hoesepower ... The engine will run with higher icombustion prrassure and more revs. It will drink more liquid power fluid and need best oil plus care of an expert and in shorter distances. Alternativ = Buy a bigger engine or car and you get for low money ... But impressive dhort video. Difficult to say if both hits have the same impact power and angle and more ... Yes a forged piston ist mutch stronger than a cast piston. At last = Thank you for your video.
I've seen quite a few cast pistons burn through the face to the underside right at the mold parting line. Makes me wonder if its concentrating heat at the thin raised line.
Not necessarily. I had 7 other pistons that worked. In fact. When I took apart the engine. It was a small piece like that, that blew out of the engine by chance. It still ran good just sounded like crap. 😂

Subaru uses forged pistons for their sti in japan, but cast is the us. Because cast pistons get slightly better emissions on startup. Defund the epa.
