I'm low-key glad it wasn't. X6 and X7 were tragic, but imo X8 is a much more consistent title to end the series for now. And the cliffhanger gives me hope that one day they will make another ( it's an eternal wait🗿)

But Mega Man Zero oddly makes up for it even though it too originally was gonna be the big project instead of Command Mission with X being the final Maverick... In a way I'm glad that we got what we got instead of some kinda End of Evangelion overdeveloped ending to the series... A lot of people think that X is the series that should have just died in its prime, but Capcom is a company that wants to continue to make money and it's hard to not notice that X is the most widely understood thing when people think about Mega Man... Even over the classic OG himself X is like the glory days of the series no one really wants to see come to an end even though it leaves it less satisfying...
If you choose X, then zero cant shoot his buster cause its broken at the first boss, if you choose zero then lost the fourth armor due to the first boss
X3 isn’t bad by any means it’s just a sort of have the least amount of memory to it and felt like the odd one out of the first trilogy for me. And I won’t do the X1 remake nor the game boy color games since I don’t have any of those games and probably can’t record them either.
