Omg, thanks so much for letting me and others know!!! I was so happy to share this deal, but had other videos to edit first. I was so sad when I saw the price went up. I saw the tube set for $39, for a few days. I don't know if I'm more excited to have a brand new pretty set, or share the deal with others! Lol

I enjoy the game so much, knowing I'm not alone helps immensely!! It feels silly buying the same pigment from different brands, but each company does something else with that pigment. I rationalize it a bit, but since I'm sharing, I hope to save others the expense of trying them all out! I hope to keep sharing videos others enjoy and that are helpful!

Hi Stephanie you are keeping me from going mad, after having the bone graft a month ago I then had a biopsy on the bottom of the SAME foot which was horrendous so I now have stitches down the length of my big toe my heal and underneath my foot. Havnt been out for a month!!! Don't have family or friends so don't see anyone. Waiting for the results of the biopsy I can't concentrate to paint so watching videoes keep me going, thank you for keeping me company lol

Such a fun haul! I absolutely cannot wait for the swatching video! I love Roman Szmal- def one of my favorite brands as well. Kimberly Crick makes a a few videos on Isaro paints- one specifically for the powdery pink and Nordman Green-such a lovely video. Quick question: how do you get Winsor and Newton from Jacksons; since they don't ship Winsor and Newton to the US?...Ive been waiting for them to change their Winsor and Newton licensing for years, lol. Anyway such a fun video, and I am crazy excited for your swatching video too! Thanks so much for sharing and much love! ❤️

Actually Zenart is cheaper in the USA rather than the UK - I contacted the company and they said it was about taxes and posting or something - it still doesn't make sense considering it is a UK company!
Oh, really?!? Well my friend, I will tell you I don't like the paints so far. I'm having a really hard time making the video. :( The paper is nice, but I haven't had a chance to compare it to others, to see if the price is worth it. Also, they are having us buy the products, and wait to be refunded. So it's kind of shady, as people can say "they purchased it"...when that is not all together true. I hate bad talking companies, but I wanted to warn you...since it is a UK company that you might have been considering supporting. I hope they make better paints someday!! Hopefully they will have some other products that are nice, as well!

Stick with Jackson's for sure. I haven't tried anything you will be missing out on, that is more affordable than Jackson's.

May I ask what shipping option you use when getting your items shipped from Jackson’s to the US? I see three options & am confused, I saw another video saying DHL is best but it’s more than double the International Post option. Just wondering your experience since you buy from them often.
Hi! Thanks for asking, I'm happy to help. When I shop at Jackson's I generally place a small order and use the International Tracked Post. It's usually $5 or less for shipping. It takes two to three weeks to receive my order using that service.
I just checked and for $145 order, it would be free shipping with the International Tracked Post, and $12 DHL. So, you can wait to place a larger order, the cost of shipping goes down. (unless you are purchasing something heavy like paper pads or ceramic palettes). Sometimes I wait and place one order a month, and use DHL which is very fast (like 4 days!). But, try play around with different amounts in your cart to see how it effects the shipping. Sometimes, getting over $100 helps, sometimes it's getting over $150. It just depends on how much you are planning to spend.
Just please don't use Fed Ex, no matter how much shipping it saves you!! That was the only time I've ever regretted a purchase from Jackson's. I hope that helps! Oh, and here is a link to the free and low price samples you won't want to forget to add a few when you order! ;D

Very recently I became obsessed with watercolors made from natural minerals. So I bought handmade watercolors in malachite and azurite from the retailer that rhymes with Betsy 🤣, and I purchased lapis lazuli by A Gallo. Now I have the three I’ve snapped out of my obsession! Looking forward to your watercolor videos!

@@TheGypsyChic1 I was quite obsessed with buying malachite thinking it would be bright like the A Gallo malachite hue. Well the real deal isn’t as bright at the A Gallo malachite hue. That made me think that if I want bright/pigmented colors I better stick with non-mineral watercolors. However, the azurite and A Gallo lapis lazuli are surprisingly quite bright/pigmented compared to the real malachite. I’ve gone totally overboard with A Gallo watercolors and purchased more. I agree thank goodness for credit card rewards! I would feel very guilty if all of my art supplies were purchased straight out of my own pocket. 🤩
Yes, me too! I'm drawn in by the natural mineral aspect, but have been let down by the pigment load. Which Malachite is your favorite...I haven't found one yet. RS was a bust... Oh, ME TOO! I'm getting ready to share some subbie love and happy mail!! My whole art studio was created that way, one way or another. Sometimes I think I need to share about that, so maybe people won't come at me with pitchforks. Lol I'm so happy to know you do the same! Love to make friends who are passionate, and SMART!!!

I bought the real deal malachite thinking the A Gallo malachite hue was an inferior copy, but I’m wrong and the A Gallo is now on my wish list. It’s very bright looking, I could probably make it myself, but I can’t be bothered. I’d rather have the half pan 🤣!
Have you heard of Greenleaf & Blueberry watercolors? They are a US based handmade watercolor company. Their prices make A Gallo prices seem reasonable 😳! I was tempted to try a half pan of malachite from them, but thought I must be a lunatic to pay $27.90 for a half pan. So that’s when I turned to Betsy and found malachite there.
In my circle of family and friends no one is passionate about art supplies so I’m glad we’ve got this YT art community, otherwise I’d have no one else to share the fun with.❤️

Thank you for sharing! Good to know. They seem to have changed their half pans, as well. They are a bright white now, but I like the change.
The Sennelier palette that you kept saying must be on sale because it's not as pretty or maybe didn't get the full treatment in production... it's probably just a matte finish black palette. The fact there's a ring on the bottom is because all of the palettes are made that way regardless of which inserts are used (pan versus tube). Also, Jackson's paint is almost assuredly re-branded Sennelier. The fact you're convinced Jackson's is "not nearly as good" is exactly why counterfeiting exists. Maybe do a blind test?
Yes, I was just giving my impressions as I inspected the palettes. I purchased many products from Sennelier over years, and compared them more before publishing the video. I was very glad to see the palettes are not counterfeit, and others commented the price has been even lower!
I agree with you, and I've read the Jackson's watercolors are made in the Sennelier factory, but they don't seem as nice to me...but maybe I do need to do more blind testing. Thanks for the suggestion!

Really? Hmmm, oh no...maybe check the listing and see if it was supposed to be included? I didn't read the listing, I don't recommend. I just saw the low price and that they were new...I was too excited! Lol The brush was hiding in there pretty good, so it was a nice surprise. Does your set have the brochure and printed numbers, etc on the half-pans?

I love using neon colours in paintings. If you get your hands on a blacklight flashlight, I got mine on Amazon for about $6, you should be able to see how they actually look.

Welcome!!! If you open up the description box I have everything linked to the shops. As a beginner I would not recommend you buy the travel set, at all. I will be making some videos for beginners soon. But, as a beginner just get one of these two sets: Sennelier half pans amzn.to/3TV1hIE or Daniel Smith tubes amzn.to/3FJWbe3 from Amazon...which ever you think suits you better. You can mix tons of colors from either set. Then don't buy anything else but Arches watercolor paper and one brush. I recommend this one: amzn.to/3SHpFfe. You don't need anything else at all, everything else is just for fun. Learn about mixing colors, water control, and pigment info...all for free on RUclips. ;D
How do the Roman Szmal compare to the white knights? They look identical.
To me the are better than White Nights, but they are also stickier. They have many interesting colors that granulate and that I think are almost dupes for Daniel Smith. I do still love my White Nights, though. ;D Eventually, I will share my favorite colors from Roman Szmal.

Hi Stephanie, it's not the normal in the UK to have paints like that in the zen art palette I bought it and was surprised!!! Its an Italian company I think. I realised after I bought it that it would be difficult to clean out after you use the paints up as you would have to put the whole thing under water!!! I'm on the fence if this was a bad buy. Just a little tip when I've got a black palette I pretty them up with alcohol inks, they never come off and I do paint splat patterns

Thanks for the request Helen. I will try to share using it for Christmas cards. It can be used over paintings, to preserve them and keep gouache from reactivating, etc. So, when you mail your Christmas cards, you can paint the envelope and the wax will protect it. That is what I understand of it so far, and can't wait to try it!

Hi Stephine, can you tell me what you used that was in the middle of your pallette when you was swatching the paint? It was a clear looking glittery paint that I think you were mixing with the regular paints????
Hi Shelly, no sorry..I just used the only space left on the palette to swatch the Rembrandt Coated Glass Chameleon watercolors. I didn't mix them with other watercolors in this video, but you can of course. I have them linked in the description box by the name and number. I mentioned the number before I swatched them, but I forgot to write the names down too. Sorry about that, but I will have another video to show all of the colors soon!

I have been saving up for the a gallo but its hard to order when it gets soldout everytime. Which is better though?
The A Gallo paints are very lovely, but honestly they are very expensive. They are available at Jackson's. You can try one favorite color, without worrying about them all selling out. I have a video where I swatched out 24 colors. I would recommend saving those for a special birthday treat or something.
I need to compare them more, but there are no magic watercolors...you can make beautiful artwork with any paint. It's just fun to try new brands! I would have to know which how much they are in your currency, to be able to say which would be worth it or not. I hope that helps!
