Just stumbled across this TERRIFIC site. The Well-tempered remains my favourite solo (keyboard) work, both books. Shostakovich’s Preludes & Fugues remain, in my view, underestimated and under appreciated! It’s interesting that first only Richter played BOTH, but now more pianists are taking on both works. One wonders how Feinberg would have interpreted Shostakovich’s P&F in light of his idiosyncratic (and quite extraordinary) recording of the WTK.
Thank. you. Lovely performance and I appreciate your knowledge and enthusiasm. keep safe and well. One day maybe I will be able to hear you in a live performance. :-)
Bach: B minor prelude and fugue 26:4233:46 . By you it works really like a final destination! And Bach has written very much in b minor (to accept suffering, but not all his compositions). After Mozart Adagio KV 540 I mention César Franck, who has written in addition to 'Prélude, Choral et Fugue' several organ compositions in b minor too. 💚💜 Shostakovich D major op.87 11:11 is speziell. Im my ears it sounds like a children's playground. And our hope is with the children. 🙆♂️ Very interesting the c sharp minor pair with the root cell c#-g# a-g# or d-a bflat-a in the prelude 17:30. The fugue: The aera of S. wasn't over yet. And Krzysztof Meyer has made a great job!!
why putting your energie in Bach WTC???? you are such a great pianist, you can do NOTHING with this repertoire... maybe interesting for students, but there it stops... my opinion ofcourse.

Thank you for this monumental endeavor!! Looking forward to hearing you in Pittsburgh next March
Thanks for your lesson Yulianna. Vibrant musical notes illuminate the consciousness even as they turn into the key of minor chords. Ciao.
