- Rafael Nadal celebrated the confirmation that he will finish the year as world No 1 by fighting through to the quarter-finals of the Paris Masters on Thursday.
The 31-year-old Spaniard had guaranteed the position for the fourth time in his career after his second round win over Hyeon Chung earlier this week.
And he maintained his momentum despite a tough test from Uruguay's world No 36 Pablo Cuevas, winning 6-3, 6-7, 6-3 in a match lasting two hours and 20 minutes.

Best angle to watch Tennis! We need to create a petition for the ATP/WTA, to atleast have an option to view matches at court level. Even if it's a paid option, i wouldn't personally mind.
so much more interesting. get to see the spins, angles and athleticism. i was amazed when i first saw them in person how much spin they use
adipolida that’s why you pay to watch them live, what’d be the point if tv was like this? Nobody would go to matches and they’d lose revenue. Plus you can’t see the sponsors either, so that’s also why they use the higher, non court level view.
Cool Apple no shit. But there are plenty more reasons to go to an event than just the view.
And besides, I went to the laver cup event and this videos pales in comparison to how it looks in real life

I was so lucky to be there. I stayed one week in Paris and I have just noticed that there is the rolex paris masters tournament and bought random tickets for 1/8 final. Then I saw that nadal is playing. So much luck in my first match I have experienced live

@@sprattner its important to remember that nadal is standing very very far back like as far as possible. So for it to be that high is crazy. It was a very good kick serve.

Indeed shows how possible it is to play with those people but it's all about belief and feeling mentally good about urself to compete against them
Big Ballah can confirm this. Even though I currently play at the state/national level, it’s a very similar situation. It’s stupid how fast the ball can go even with the topspin we produce. Nationally ranked players are definitely at another level though. Played a person this summer at a clay tournament who was able to get the ball past me during baseline rallies, with him being 6+ feet back, and half the time I barely had time to respond. Ended up losing that match 6 - 3 6 - 0. Was definitely the best player I ever played against.

Idk why, but from this angle it seems as if it was so easy just to slap a forehand off of Nadal's forehand. Doesn't look like it has a lot of pace from here but Im sure it has a BUNCH of topspin

I definitely enjoyed the Dimitrov vs Thiem match at the Madrid Open and it's really fucked up that they put it down ay. Did more videos get deleted?

It's a bit fucked up at the moment. The Thiem-Dimitrov Madrid video was the greatest video we ever made and when ATP found it they were so angry that it was so popular that not only did they delete it, they also filed a copyright claim which means they claim that they own the footage, as if they had recorded it with ATP Cameras. Of course that was not true, but disputing the claim leads to a legal process which is not worth it

Its because Nadal spins more, and Cuevas hits stronger.
