I think that dean was amazing, or teenager dean at least. I feel like Rory pushed him to his breaking point, and she had to have at least a clue of how it would effect dean but instead she chose to be ignorant, and rather than just breaking up with him and going out with Jess, which obviously would have been hurtful but not as hurtful as what she chose to do, which was just stay with dean while going out and kissing Jess in front of his eyes and than trying to gaslight him into thinking that she’s just the poor victim who just wants to be friends with everyone. Like her mom told her multiple times that she had to choose, but instead she just decided to hurt everyone else in the process. I think all her boyfriends were amazing for the time, all of them were great and so in love with her and her relationships were perfect yet she still kept trying to find someone better and tried to have everyone at the same time. And yes I know it wasn’t entirely Jess’s fault but I still think Jess could have done things to prevent all of this from happening but it definitely was on Rory for this one. I think that dean was a great first love and just what Rory needed at the time, and i do think that there wasn’t really any hope that he would have been her forever love, considering that even if Jess hadn’t shown up something I feel like would have happened like some other guy would have eventually shown up and Rory would have decided that she wanted the new guy. I think that Rory just had a tendency to want what she couldn’t have and want the new and cool thing but when she finally had that thing and it was no longer new and popular, than she would ditch it for the next.
