8 bookcases and a cupboard full of books? Wow! It's good that you have a room dedicated to all these books. Oh, you and Jason will come to love eReaders - 1000's of books in your pocket, with an adjustable font size and type - yay! This was a fun tag to do - I enjoyed your answers, thanks for sharing :)
Well, thank you so much for watching and commenting! Yes, when we were house shopping we saw this long skinny room - it was a total man cave at the time - and both thought, “This is the library.” If I traveled a lot I might want a bunch of books with me at once, but really, most of the time I need one. I would like to magically adjust the font size at times, but I am still holding out. 💛
Hey Kelly, Another fun topic here. I remember that well, the goal you two had of just reading your own and acquiring as little as possible during that time. Had to laugh when you said there's no adjusting Jason! I understand though since that's how I am with music of course. I love little free libraries too! The very idea alone of a little gingerbread or schoolhouse structure sitting atop a post in someone's front yard full of books is so endearing. I use them pretty regularly. Also going to the library more again after finally renewing my card. Am more of a physical shop person overall, little used places, plus Half-Price Books...also of course, they carry music....Ok, is my own problem more and more apparent here? 🙃 Happy reads and book acquiring....or not.... 😉-Carm
Carm, I would love to see the music edition of this tag! Little Free Libraries are so great. Thank you so much for commenting. I hope to send out some mail before long. I need some more padded envelopes. 📚🎶
I hear you on the joint library! Some books my husband doesn't care about, but others I need to discuss the fates of with him. I don't have a specific goal about not acquiring books, but the number of unread books is quite large, so until I can clear some space on the shelves it seems...unwise to get more.
Ah, Deborah, someone who understands my situation! Yes, I am definitely trying hard to pause and hope some of 'my' books I can read and get rid of. We didn't go to our local indie bookstore this last weekend for that very reason. Books were growing at our house already!
I like having a large library of unread books, but I do also feel that anxiety when things start to spill off my shelves. I also need for everything to be corralled and on a shelf. But luckily Greg doesn't really mind if I get rid of books, as long as they are not his outdoor/mountain climbing books.
Great answers Kelly! I’m conflicted whether I wish my husband read now or not 😉 I think book buying habits can sometimes depend on where you live, for example, if you live in a city with a huge library system you would need/want to buy less but then if you have more great book stores temptation is right on your door. 🤔Having enough books to read on my shelves for the next fifteen- twenty years, I’ve finally decided to permanently limit my book buying and to read all the books I buy in a year in that year so my collection has a chance of going down 😉Twenty is my max and so far this year I’ve bought 4 ebooks and two physical books and have read three of those titles, starting another this month. Having said that everyone should feel free to buy or not buy as many books as they like!
Thank you Jo! I didn’t want anyone to feel guilty about their book-buying decisions. That certainly wasn’t my intent. Having said that, it sounds like your own book buying goals are going well! 💛
You certainly didn’t sound ‘judgy’, the comment was more - just because I’m not buying so many books, doesn’t mean I think anyone else needs to do the same! 😉
Nice to meet you! And I love the story of going a year buying only one book. Not sure I could do it but I really should do it. I also am getting a little interested in acquiring a book cart for those I am currently reading or will sooner rather than later. I currently use a basket which isn’t bad but carts are so cute 🥰 ps I’m super endeared that your book buying problem is your hubby- I never would have thought of that since mine doesn’t read hardly at all but I can SO appreciate it.
Hello! It is lovely to hear from you! Thank you for commenting! Having a joint library is such a challenge. I love watching people unhaul books that is completely their decision! Not so for all of us, but I wouldn’t trade him in. 🥰📚
@@booksimnotreading Absolutely, I know that would never be your intent. I just felt the irony of the tag for me, since I had only just done some book related shopping. Just FYI I bought Henry Eliot's Modern Penguin Classics (just love a book about books) and an KOBO Ereader, bigger screen and more storage space.
Leo, I didn’t pick my sweetheart for his book buying habits. Sometimes tags just assume the person creating the video has sole rights to the library. 💛
Kelly! Great video!! Thank you for doing the tag! I love looking at all my books as well. They bring me so much joy!
Shelly, thanks for tagging me! I am glad all my books bring you joy! 😂🌷

Great to hear your answers! I think I veer more towards the Jason side of the book-buying spectrum... I just can't help it!

Lovely answers, it is quite tough not to buy books when one has many unread ones at home but I still love have books around me🤣🤣🤣🤣
I do love having books around me too … it’s just a bit out of control sometimes! 💛😃

Yes, Jason has much more influence over our library. But to each his/her/their own! 💛
