Hello Malik. Thank you for everything you have done so far. Here’s my situation. How do I minimize or entirely remove ambient audience noise or table chatter I picked up on my video and emphasize the singing of a group of singers on stage? The audio is all in one track of my video file. Thanks a lot.
Best to use an audio editor like Audacity or Audio Director to isolate the noise and remove it. I show how to do noise reduction in this video that you commented on.
I don't remember seeing that as an option in the settings or custom section on the Produce page so I don't think so. You can ask on the PowerDirector forum to be sure.
Like all your videos, this was awesome. You have saved me so much time and taught me how to make much better videos and audio. I wouldn't have even known where to look for some of these controls without your video. Thank you!
Your videos are great! I've learned so much. I have a question about removing audio. I have a video of a musical performance. For about three minutes, there's a crying (more like screaming) baby. Is there a way (I haven't tried your steps here yet) to remove the background baby, but keep the performer's vocals and instrumentals? thanks
Using Audio Director you can go to a place where only the baby can be heard, select that portion of the audio and remove it. I show how in the video in the noise reduction section
@@PDU_Tutorials Thanks. I tried with no success, but I'm sure it's just me and my limited knowledge about this kind of thing. I will try again, and play with the different compression settings to see if I can improve it. I'll let you know. Thanks for replying so quickly!!
I use audiodirector too and I'm very unhappy with the fact that it's very cumbersome if I have multiple clips in the video editor, I can't apply the same tool to all of them. I have to do it one clip at a time. Any solution for that?
You could produce the edited video and then open the produced file in a new PD project. The new project will have a single audio clip which you could swap into the original project and then edit AD the way you're requesting. This solution is also a little cumbersome, but it's better than repeating the same steps for dozens of clips.

There a certain parts of my video that I want to turn down my voice. And their parts of my video where I want to turn the voice of people interviewed. May I please have a link on how to do that in, PowerDirector 365.
I purchased CyberPowerDirector 18 and I see you are using CPD16. I'm baffled that the older version you are using has more features than mine. When trying use the noise reduction feature like you did, you had many more features than I have. Im not sure why and if there's something that I'm not doing.
Thank you!!! I tried noise reduction but my voice became very unnatural and reduced, too. Here, you showed how enhance your voice, first, and then you did noise reduction. My videos have A LOT of noise. How should the voice be corrected after noise reduction?
I have always done voice enhancement first. Not sure how to do it the opposite way. If you capture a section of the audio without the voice then your voice will not be affected when you do noise reduction.
Thank you for giving suggestions for male and female voices. When I applied noise reduction, it made my own voice very unnatural. So, I had to go back to the noisy version of my video, with a lot of road traffic in the background. Do you have a video where this issue is addressed? If you are a viewer and know videos addressing this issue, would you, please, post a link with your reply. It will be greatly appreciated.
I have a video that has a 'cavernous' sound because the room was big where I recorded. How can I improve this or remove the cavernous effect? Love your videos!
I don't get any sound when trying to edit an MP4 from PowerDirector 16 to AudoDirector 7 on a W10 Fall Creators Update x64 machine - no waveform, nothing. I've uninstalled/reinstalled AudioDirector to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks.
With AudioDirector 10, under Adjust Audio, there is a Boost option. It allows making a selection of any size and boosting the volume in just that selection. I can't seem to make the Fades option work the same way. Is there a way to do this? I have resorted to using CyberLink Wave Editor for this task. Thanks for this nice video!
Hi Maliek. Great video as usual. I have Power Director 13. I recorded a concert on a camcorder in the mid 90s. It ended out as Mono, and the sound was a little low, so I boosted the audio and adjusted it to stereo in Wave editor. However, I am getting brief hiccoughs in the audio about every 30 to 60 seconds. Is there a simple way to rectify this, or do I have to get additional software? Thanks in advance
I recently started using this program, and when I recorded my last video, I didn’t realize that my microphone wasn’t working at first. I have two video clips that sound very echoey while the others all sound better. Is there a good way to remove the echo sound and make the audio match the other clips that were recorded in the same location with the microphone?
Really good video. I use this a lot in my gaming video production. Can you make a follow-up video showing off the other tools? And perhaps the best way to proportionally INCREASE the volume of quieter audio?
So my problem is my audio sounds fine but once the video is finished rendering it sounds really choey, like I'm in a chamber and it sounds terrible. How do I fix this?
@@PDU_Tutorials Ok, thanks man. Yeah, I was thinking maybe it has to do with setting it to one of these settings. AAC, Dolby Dogital, or LPCM. I cant find anything on the internet about the difference in render quality so I'm gonna render the video in all of those selections and see the difference. Appreciate the fast response though
@@PDU_Tutorials Ok. So I figured it out with some testing. So if while your editing the volume and sound is perfect but when you render it and watch the video back and it sounds horrible or echoey it is because the audio compression is on AAC. By switching the Audio compression to LPCM it will render the video the way it sounded while you were editing. This is because of the higher bit rate AAC is at a bit rate of 64 compression while LPCM is at a bit rate of 1,536. I'm guessing that means higher quality and less compression. So to fix that click on the + button and go to audio and you'll see the settings there. Hope this helps you answer other peoples questions if they run into the same issue :)
@@ChrisEvans66 Thanks for sharing. I tested using AAC and LPCM and the audio was fine using both. Any additional information you can share such as your camera, file format, codec, etc. might help to pinpoint the root cause of the problem. Have a great day.
I have a problem with audio director 7, when I record using the mike the red vertical line doesnt start straight away and then jerks across. like Im short on ram but with 8 gigs ddr4 Im not ( I hope). Also as I am using a mixer board I have a latency problem, (IE, am using a mike with phantom power through the mixer to the rear of the computer into the sound card) any way that this can be altered please
dreamjewels Could the lag on the recording start be tied to the latency issue? Does the board have a built in analog to digital converter? Sometimes that conversion can cause the latency. I don’t use Audio Director as much as I should so the best place for help might be CyberLink support.
@@PDU_Tutorials You could be correct there , Im not sure what the board has but will ask support about it. Im adding chat between prerecorded tracks for a radio program so I dont have to be in the studio. Im using the mix section which should be okay. Anyway, Thanks for your help. Cheers, Peter
Is there a way to copy equalizer settings from one audio clip to another? I know I should have created a custom equalizer setting and saved it but I didn't. And when I go back and examine the equalized clip the settings hoping to see what I did, they are no longer displayed.
Not sure. Right click the clip and select “unlink audio/video > Right click the audio clip And see if you have the option to “copy keyframe attributes” If you do then you can right click the next audio clip and select “paste keyframe attributes”
@@PDU_Tutorials Nope - best just to create and save the eq settings as a custom setting with a name and then apply them as needed. The eq settings are not included in the keyframe attributes- only the volume levels.

Hi Maliek. I've been using PD 15 Ultra and it seems to automatically compress the audio dynamic range, sounds like 1.5x, by default. I'm thinking about upgrading to PD 17. Does PD 17 still have this issue?
Thank you for making these videos, I appreciate you letting me know about the fit to disk in the last video. My question is about the audio AFTER I burn my project to a disk or produce it. It sounds fine on my computer and phone but not on the tv with multiple dvd players, each one I have tried gives somewhat different audio, all worse than my computer and phone version. Any tips on a type of player that will make the DVDs sound like the video I produced on powerdirector? should I just buy a bluray or 4k that plays DVDs? Thank you
jcamman99 No need to buy a new device. Try changing the audio settings on your devices to see what to impact will be. You might also have different audio settings on the produce screen for your disc.
Powerdirector mobile seems to drop the audio whenever there's a loud part, the sound drops during the crescendo, and then comes back up after that part, it makes the audio terrible? It's almost like an auto volume control? Especially with rock or metal, whenever theres a loud/crescendo briefly in the song? Anyone else had this or know how to fix it?

Hi Maliek and peeps.. not sure if this is the right place for this but... this problem just started recently, only when I import a GOPRO video into the library and watch the preview, all is good... BUT, when I drag it onto the edit bar to begin editing, I lose audio! There is a full audio track showing on the edit bar, but the preview window shows the volume adjust button crossed out (muted) and non functional. The file is only 3.7GB. If I remove it from the library and start over I regain the audio in the preview window, but if I bring it back to the edit bar it's gone... anyone know what's happening here? Many thanks!
Make sure audio is enabled on the left hand side of the timeline track, make sure audio is enabled under the preview window, make sure you are in real-time preview mode under the preview window

There a certain parts of my video that I want to turn down my voice. And their parts of my video where I want to turn the voice of people interviewed. May I please have a link on how to do that in, PowerDirector 365.
This shows how to do that but you can also watch this ruclips.net/video/KSDq6rlaQvc/видео.html
I purchased CyberPowerDirector 18 and I see you are using CPD16. I'm baffled that the older version you are using has more features than mine. When trying use the noise reduction feature like you did, you had many more features than I have. Im not sure why and if there's something that I'm not doing.
PrinceOfPeaceOfIsrael Depends on which version of 18 you are using. There are several.
PowerDirector University I see... thanks for the quick reply. Im guessing those features are included in the 365 edition?
PrinceOfPeaceOfIsrael Not sure which ones you’re referring to. I also have plugins that don’t come with 365.
No I don't.
I have a video that has a 'cavernous' sound because the room was big where I recorded. How can I improve this or remove the cavernous effect? Love your videos!
Best results would be achieved using an audio editor.
I don't get any sound when trying to edit an MP4 from PowerDirector 16 to AudoDirector 7 on a W10 Fall Creators Update x64 machine - no waveform, nothing. I've uninstalled/reinstalled AudioDirector to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks.
Hey. Is there a way to break up the wave lengths to remove specific sounds like if the mic picks up someone's movement against the mic?
You can use the Noise Reduction tool in Audio Director to identify/isolate sounds to remove.
PowerDirector University ok thank you
With AudioDirector 10, under Adjust Audio, there is a Boost option. It allows making a selection of any size and boosting the volume in just that selection. I can't seem to make the Fades option work the same way. Is there a way to do this? I have resorted to using CyberLink Wave Editor for this task. Thanks for this nice video!
Dennis Allen Not that I know of
OK, just wanted to be sure I wasn't missing something. Thanks.
Dennis Allen You’re welcome.
Do you have a power director 365 version cos the whole set-up is now different.
Thank you for the very helpful tutorial.
Anytime my friend.
Really good video. I use this a lot in my gaming video production.
Can you make a follow-up video showing off the other tools? And perhaps the best way to proportionally INCREASE the volume of quieter audio?
I have a lot of other Audio videos that might help you. Search PowerDirector Audio and you should find my videos and my playlist.
So my problem is my audio sounds fine but once the video is finished rendering it sounds really choey, like I'm in a chamber and it sounds terrible. How do I fix this?
Chris Evans Not familiar with that issue. Try asking about it on the PowerDirector forum.
Chris Evans 👍🏾
Just had a thought, is there a way to save your own settings as a preset? and if so how? Thanks again.
For most things no. But, if you create a PIP Object for overlays and things of that nature you can save them for later use.
How do you record audio to add in? Thank you all. ☺️

@@PDU_Tutorials thank you. Wow, such crazy fast reply. Your the best! ♥️

Fantastic!
@@PDU_Tutorials
Nope - best just to create and save the eq settings as a custom setting with a name and then apply them as needed. The eq settings are not included in the keyframe attributes- only the volume levels.

I am using 2019 Cyberlink Powerdirector cracked version.
My problem : When I am dragging my audio in my timeline from media content .it is not sounding same as original.... Little sound quality degraded.
What to do?
Don’t know. I don’t use illegal software and have no idea of it’s limitations
Hi, I'm facing this clicking/popping issue after I import a video to the timeline. I am sure others are facing the same problem as well coz there are quite a few videos on YT for the same ..but none offer a concrete solution...I hope you have one.
Set an Audio Transition over the clips and set it to Cross.

*WOW!!!* Pinnacle doesn't have anything on Powerdirector audio adjustment!
I've used Audacity for a long time, especially with Pinnacle Studio, because the equalizer and filters are abysmal.
If this works half as good as you say it does, I can't wait to try it out!
It works great. Just remember that Audio Director is an add-on. It will or won't come with PD based on which version you buy.
You are a great teacher...I am learning PD video making from your tutorials! Thx! Your audio director tutorial very helpful BUT I don't know/understand audio editing lingo & all the terms in slide gauges. Could you do a video just explaining what all these words mean & what the each do...?
Thanks for watching my videos. I truly appreciate it.
Doing a video on every term used in audio editing would take forever. If there is a word or term you don't understand I recommend you do a Google search for that word.
I use AudioDirector every time OBS films with low audio. Can't use the PowerDirector capture feature because I don't have a mic.
That stinks
Hi is there any option on power director or audio director for audio normalizer or audio leveler? I have problem in the pc sound good but podcast sound sometimes louder and something super dim after editing
There is a norrnalizer in both programs. There are also limiters in Audio Director which I show in this video.
@@PDU_Tutorialsthank you very much for your reply I pay attention 😊 is there. I got confused because some programs have a big bottom that said normalize I found it in your videos on power director tutorial
Alberto Deras 👍🏾
Use audiodirector all the time its easy to use and worth buying
I know you showed us how to use video collage I like to know how can I make or hear each video collage one at a time
I show how to mute or unmute each clip in the collage designer tutorial
Man I wish this video wasn't 4 years old so I know I could reach out to you for help
🤷🏾♂️
I use the wind filter a lot. But I wish there was a breathing filter - I sometimes hand hold while I'm puffed.
Another helpful vid! THANKS!
Question: Why is it that when I load a project into my Power Director 16, that the video (all in my timeline) will be upside down? I have to close out and restart the program to get it right-side-up?? Thanks for any help you can provide.
Thanks for the compliment. I have no idea why it opens upside down. In the Preferences or the Preview Window try changing the Preview Quality from Full HD to HD and see if the problem persists. You can also leave feedback on the PD Forum to see if this issue can be escalated to CyberLink support. I can't escalate it because I do not work for CyberLink. forum.cyberlink.com/forum/posts/list/64575.page

Hey, video suggestion: how to add a countdown timer. And with location option on the video ( ex: lower left corner). ???
Watch my Time Stamp Countdown video
Great tips! Thank you!
You're welcome.
Thanks... but... I experienced a "buzz" in a video that was 40-60% the volume of the dialogue that I did not hear during the session... I used AudioDirector 7 to remove the "buzz" and found some dialogue sounded "warbled"... and in the later portion the video was shifted by 70 milli-seconds back from the audio... any advice on how to better correct the audio?
Hi Maliek. I've been using PD 15 Ultra and it seems to automatically compress the audio dynamic range, sounds like 1.5x, by default. I'm thinking about upgrading to PD 17. Does PD 17 still have this issue?
Not that I know of.
May have to watch this one again.
Thanks, very helpfull
You’re welcome. Thanks for watching. If you haven't already done so please consider subscribing.
Does audio director help you sync the audio track with the video?
TruckerPass No, there is a feature in PowerDirector for that. Watch my audio sync video
I haven’t. This channel is for the PC version. You might get more responses if you comment on a tutorial on my PowerDirector app channel RUclips.com/pdumobile
@@PDU_Tutorials ok tks. 👍🏻 🙂
Awesome video as always . I was hoping you where going to play a before and after sample . Take Care
Before and after needed.
I’m using powerdirector 17 and love the audio editing capabilities. However, anytime I edit audio using “audio editing” it is muted after rendering! It previews correctly. Any ideas?
That's strange. No idea why that's happening. Are your audio drivers up to date?
Sometimes my audio files get corrupted and when I post my videos sometimes my Audio files change places or are at diffrent time intervals even when I didn’t put them there, please help me, I’m on a IPhone.

Here's MY problem. The audio and video are in perfect sync when in EDIT section. BUT when I go to produce the final video the audio starts good but then goes out of sync 15 mins into the project at the same place every time. This is a video that is around 1hr. 20 mins. PLEASE help.
You left the same comment on another video. Please do not spam the comments. I will answer.
Awesome video, thank you.
Hey that worked! I didn't have it on real-time preview mode - Thank you Maliek!! Love your content and your sense of humour, I was starting to lose my mind over this problem ... much appreciated good sir!
Always happy to help.
I HAVE A VIDEO THAT I WANNA REMOVE MY VOICE FROM IT BUT KEEP THE SOUND EFFECTS HOW I DO IT?(I AM USING POWER DIRECTOR 17)
HydroKnight GAMER Use a audio editor like Audio Director and try using the noise reduction feature on your voice. If you don’t have Audio Director you can use a free program like Audacity
in the middle of my video there is sec i want to mute how can i do it
Use keyframes to reduce the audio for that second, split the video so that only that second is selected, unlink audio, delete audio.
Thank you very much
You’re welcome.
This guy is great - interesting and funny.
Thank you

Why some audio stop working after I produced it? Though when it is still in timeline or still in editing process, the audio is fine. Why?
thank you maleek!!

Only if you plan on using the new features.
Hey Malik Do you have a tip for a great animation software that is easy to use ? I have tried out Blender Natron and Cyberlink for making a composite and tried to make some animation for the video I was working on. It did not look convincing...So I need to get around it the easy way.
Sorry, I don't have a recommendation for animation.
