Thanks for the hammertime combat. That staff is crazy and I agree with you adding some unique mechanics (i.e., gestures) to staves would make it more immersive and badass.
Hey man, been loving your content. So helpful for a noob like me. The magic gestures would be an awesome addition, voice activated spells would be cool too. Imagine a random pick up groups with people screaming "FIREBALL"
Good to hear, thanks! Idk about voice activated spells though. I could see the appeal, but I think I'd rather talk to my teammates instead of listening to them yelling out spells the whole time 😅. Also, I loved that 400 day VR fitness journey video you made! Do you think you might make a DoE video too?
@berntpan haha you're right there. Talking to the team is way better! Thanks! I'd love to cover some DoE in the future. Would probably look at it from a workout by accident angle. It has an incredible ability to completely warp your time perception
Yeah I haven't touched on the workout side of DoE much, but it's definitely got some potential with most weapons. Basically anything but the crossbow and magic staffs can get someone to work up some sweat. There's another reason gesture based magic would be great. It's probably important to talk about the potential for injuries too, especially when the fighting gets intense. I doubt many players are making sure they have proper "injury preventing" technique when swinging, stabbing, and throwing.
@berntpan for sure, good form always goes out the window when things get hectic or you start getting tired. Plus you can't really see yourself in VR to correct your form. I've recorded myself enough times now to know I look like a massive dork even though it feels cool in game. Right now, I'm rocking around with an ice staff and a club, and that combo feels pretty fun to freeze enemies in place, then give them a really good wack. Plus it actually feels like I'm helping if way higher levels join in multiplayer. Would love to run with you sometime!
What exosuit do you recomend for your arms? I saw in this video you used power but which exosuit for arms do you see yourself using while using your main loadout?
If I'm using a bow or crossbow which tend to be my best weapons then I use pullback. For a while I used impale, but I think pullback is statistically better.
Can you explain Area damage and elemental damage ? Do either only apply to that weapon? I had explosions on a dagger but would only go off when using other weapon that didnt have explosions it was very odd
@@Ty_Guy3 both only apply to that weapon as far as I'm aware. However, the area damage, explosion, and fire perks all do the same thing. Maybe the explosion was going off for your other weapon with the fire or explosion perk.
You can't stab other players if that's what you mean, but you can stab enemies. Axes, daggers, swords, and longswords have the most satisfying stab interaction. Feel free to check out my playlists to find gameplay for specific weapons.

Good stuff! Feel free to add me on Meta @BurntPan
A Duel gem Staff seems a reasonable request.
I agree.

@@jjbonta what about daggers or any other weapons that you mainly throw if you are using something like a staff?
I would use the might perk for throwing weapons. Like I often say, it depends.

My baby
give Drakheir a go for gesture based magic! its good fun
Looks fun, thanks for the recommendation!
Hey! I was wondering in D.O.E can you stab people with weapons and it stick into them?

@@jjbonta oh sorry 😅
I meant enemies, I’ll be sure to check it out, thanks!
It only kills the ones in front of you,
Interesting, I didn't know that.
@@jjbonta would be cool if it did 360 lockon
Agreed, that's what I assumed it did. I wonder the exact radius. I'm guessing 180 degrees, but maybe just within fov?
