This song is a confession. The boy that could never have the luxury of crumbling down, because he had a responsibility toward so many people, decided to bare his soul. And he did it beautifully through this song. I have so much respect for the role he played in BTS for so long. He is the heart of BTS, just like JK said once, but he's also the rock on which everyone could rely on. Army included. I just want him to be happy.

Love this comment so so much & it is exactly how I interpreted this song, but I think it is time for ARMY to be Joon’s & the rest of the Tannies rocks and let them lean on us for a while as they have done so so much for so many people in ARMY. They also need to be told by ARMY that they should write music, songs, do and say what makes them happy and stop listening to what people want them to do as we will love & support them whatever they choose to do.
The last time I cried was watching Joon, Jimin & Hobi break down at the Festa 2022 dinner & then again Joon made me cry listening to this beautiful song.

You know, I was introduced to the guys the year after their debut, it was 2014. The most terrible year, I was depressed, there were unnecessary dangerous thoughts, I did not accept myself, my life. Close people, their orientation. But the boys pulled me out of that shit. But Namjoon did the most, he fixed my soul. When I lost my son, only people close to me and Namjun's songs gave me strength. Now I want so much to give him the power that he shared with everyone through his songs.

I swear every time I hear the song I cry especially the last part.. namjoon really have so many hidden things inside him.. i think all bts members do .. from the festa dinner to the military announcement i can just say they faced so many hard times past 3 years and it all came out this year.. i hope in this rest they can calm down And gather their strength and courage its not easy and no matter how much we say we feel them I think we aren’t even close i just hope they can get through these things and be happy and healthy this is what they deserve.. and we will be always here for them

I think the turn they had to take during Covid with Butter, Dynamite, and Permission to Dance was a struggle for RM who cries to be hear by the world( Whalien 52) but with a message the truly speaks his soul as and artist. Those songs were to bring some joy to a very sad hurting world. They were great, iconic sons and RM did them sincerely, I felt he did them for team, for the company, for ARMY, but I have always felt it must have been sooo hard on him as that they reflect his talent as a performer they didn't reflect his soul as an artist. Please no hate, just an opinion. And I truly count discovering BTS as one of my greatest BLESSINGS in my life and I am 74 years old 💜 💜💜💜💜💜💜I have seen all the greats from Sinatra, Elvis, Beatles, Stones, Michael Jackson and believe BTS are the most talented artists ever and cannot be matched ever, ever.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I agree with you but it’s breaking my heart that appealing to more people by singing a few songs in English has probably caused this …I for one never expected anything of it except looking at it as artists wanting to heal a a hurting world til we got thru it and now that we have we seem to be losing it🥹
RM said this song was already made in 2019, he even said that he lost almost 100 files with the separate recording of the song and he had to record most of the parts again.. so I don't think this is related to Dynamite era.

He also said that Forg_tful was the starting point of the album and he completed it in april 2019... He seems to have been happy during the creating process mostly.

I think it's easy to fall into interpretations when we need to find an answer, that's why each letter from Namjoon will give rise to different readings depending on our own feelings. I cried like a BABY watching this mv. From start to finish tears were pouring down my face. This song was so beautiful and hit so hard. It made me so sad yet it sounded very hopeful as well. The lyrics kept bringing me back to festa of this year and his weverse live, what was said, how namjoon was feeling lost and exhausted, you can tell that he was pouring his entire heart into his lyrics, he really told a lot. 💜💙

The Korean title, "Wild Flower Works” is a flame falling to the ground, unlike ‘fireworks’ that flower toward the sky. I can remember his words that he wanted to be a flame, but now he wants to live like a wild flower. Despite achieving everything and standing at the top, living so fiercely in introspection... I'm proud of them, but sometimes I feel sad.
“Wildflower Works” in the MV are an intangible cultural asset of Korea.
I felt Namjoon bared his soul and gave his best for this album. Just listening and reading the lyrics healed me so much.

He said in an interview that he wants to go back to his roots and he wants to take time for personel projects. Namjoon wants to be a wildflower in an open land instead of a firework in the spotlight. A good example is his promotion for his album. He did a concert in the Rolling Hall in Seoul, a small venue, for only 200 people. The people were that close they could almost touch him. The concert is online and there's also a Behind the scenes. You can really see how good he felt on stage there and that he was his true self. It is really heartwarming to see. And the concert was great! 4 people that fearured on his album performed in the concert and he song even Sexy Nukim and Persona. I still watch it regulary.
To be more specific, he said he wants to take time for personal projects IN THE FUTURE. So I guess he wants to slow down a bit with BTS and also work on solo work. Like he (or was it Suga) said on the Festa Dinner: they're not writing machines. They need time to think about the message they want to bring across in their songs and they need time for personal growth.
He really put his everything into this album, I am beyond proud of joon.
It was a pained confession. A plea to let him find himself again so he can return whole someday. References to the flower field, open land, grave are metaphors for a blank canvass where he can paint anew. A rebirth. The song is beautiful, deep and insightful. And the cinematography captured the soul of RM's song
He's taking his bare heart in his hands and showing it to us. This is deep so is the video. The female singer did a stunning job at translating Namjoon raw emotions. I cried watching it for the first time and I NEVER cries, never. It will take me time to digest Ingido for sure. You can't grasp Namjoon easily, it's poetry. This song is pure ART. 🌟
This song is such a queen. I really like how he contrasts fireworks and flowerworks/wildflowers. To me it's about how he's already seen the brightest lights and the highest peaks, and he's thinking about living a full life beyond the limelight that doesn't just burn out quickly. He wants a life that's more steady, like wildflowers. They aren't showy - they grow peacefully, and they endure. And yes there's also an element of wanting to be grounded and himself amid all the pressures of success.
I love your interpretation of his song! BTS has done so much in a semi short musical journey and most of the pressure has fallen on RM.
I'm leaving this comment after watching the RM Indigo album magazine film video from Bangtan TV, and is something that left me with many thoughts about him but one. I wasn't thinking about RM as the "leader of BTS" but the true artist that he is.
We had no idea who RM really is, we know he's smart, intelligent, capable artist now I'm seeing a very interesting, fresh, spontaneous with a new proposal to get to know him and love him individually the same or more that we love BTS or each member, now a totally understand what the frase "The best is Yet to Come" means. First J-Hope, now RM, I'm enjoying everything this 7 human beings are planing to stay in our lives for a very long long time. When all the music around us now is stagnant and some of them disrespectful, bad taste or fun, depending who you're asking to, here comes our Mr. Kim NamJoon with a refreshing and purposeful music and lyrics, colaborating with the right artists that convey and complement his intentions to give us a best way to listen and appreciate music.

he started as a Whalien where he felt nobody can resonate and hear him. now he has millions who listens to him but he still feels empty .. he's still trying to find his true self. he's hurting and wants to become vulnerable. we have many versions of ourselves and i hope he one day will find the best version of himself and i hope he will always know that we are here for him, even though he probably shared just a bit of that pain in him to us he still let us in, he's opening the door ..
im thinking now that he probably felt suffocated about always being positive because of millions of people that look up to them and him at the front of everything ..

I think he talked about life, fame, dreams, death, spirituality…everything. He said he started with a dream which was poetry, which got him fame and that became a burden. He wants someone to take away his desire (for the world) so he can be more himself (referring to his soul). He wants to know where his end will be (death). Everything feels heavy, he’s overworked. Everything is so overwhelming. He wonders where it all started, why does he do things anymore? He does things aimlessly now. Where is he going he doesn’t know anymore. I think he’s referring to a dozen things BTS does now like projects other than music and concerts. He said one day he’ll be gone, like flowers scattered across the sky (death) He said, nothing was ever his (fame or fortune). He won’t hold onto things like others do. He said, he‘ll return one day (go back to where he came from while looking up as that’s where it’s assumed people go after death). He won’t have regrets by his grave.

At the end he is Namjoon and RM when the film shows him on stage in purple and in the field. Don't forget this was the struggle he WAS going through during the twenties. He is maturing and growing. His poetry and music carried him to success but he was fried. Now he is taking time to grow up further. He said I'll be back. Reminds me of the Festa dinner where he said he will always be RM, now it's time to be Namjoon with the stage persona of RM. I believe after the military they all will be even more mature. The album has to be listened to in sequence of 1-10. He has several videos describing each song and why... which is full of hope. The again WAS what he was going through and working out even now. Our boy leader is turning in a Man Leader.
Yesterday on WeVerse RM released a statement before anything was released. He was concerned about how the album would be received. And if all or just a few other songs are like this one. He has nothing to worry about.
As for the song, one it had me on the floor in tears, I didn't know it was going to hit me as hard as it did. Not to mention, for a long time, however long any of us have been ARMY. All of us have looked at RM as a sorta light in the dark. He is the leader...and a lot of fans call him President. So since he has been the light, we as a fanbase now have to do that for him...losing your way, losing your light, you need to find that someone or something to help you find it again. As ARMY we have to be his light and help him find his way through all the crap that has been laid at his feet by HYBE. And dare I say it, the government. I mean look all the crap they put them through the last couple of years.
I just want to hug Namjoon and tell him you did well. Rest if you need to but don't give up keep loving yourself. It is overwhelming to be on top where you have nobody to ask how the experience was but remember you are seven. You have each other.

its both the burning passion he had that turned into the flower of youth that BTS shared. He wants to have no regrets on his deathbed but when he's in nature he can let go of all the expectations and the fame and just feel like the purest form of himself. He's not a hero or villain or anyone, just someone who is sitting amongst the flower fields, and that's when he feels the most like himself.

damn I bawled like a flipping toddler after the post-chorus and that verse. Yeah the message is very very clear. You know that's something I will always love about RM's lyrics, they may have double meanings and references but it's so clear you can figure out what he's trying to say. It's not some game or puzzle which a secret meaning, no it's plain obvious, and the MV literally confirms that. The purple crowd, the purple suit? The blue mic. Indigo is a mixture of Blue and Purple. His literally are so vulnerable in this song, his lyrics are so vulnerable in the entire album

I think the Album is sort of an anthology of RM's 10 years experience as BTS member. This song sums up his feelings about at that time when almost all of his members were dependent on him, not to mention the company banking on him a lot as to how to sustain their focus, unity, and strength as a group. In other songs, you'll see how RM realised how he accepted all of this as part of his destined journey, including their inevtiable military enlistment. As a an intelligent young man, RM is sharing us how he learned to accept fate without being afraid looking for that room where he can freely breathe and become totally be himself. Undoubtedly, RM is grateful for the love, respect and trust of his members and the ARMY in rhe whole world. 💜💜💜

Incredible Namjoon... I think he's been saying things here and there for awhile. I feel like the conversation btw RM and Pharrell revealed a lot too, maybe not as directly as this song but it was there. I love how the guys are just bursting out in their solo work, it's really beautiful and it feels so full, it's not like you watch RM, and the members that have come out so far, and think somethings missing because the other members aren't there, etc. On one level I think BTS was like a school for all the members, there was all this raw talent but through the group they blossomed into who they are, and the connection they made with ARMY, being seen for the first time. It really is like a family, in the best way.💜
I think the weight of everything is taking it toll on all the guys…when you are this big…the leader of this machine…no wonder he feels like this…we have see through a number of interviews, the festa dinner, I think RM is going through the biggest identity crisis of any of them. He will figure it out…BTS will be back…but A.R.M.Y needs to be prepared, they won’t be the BTS we all knew for 10 years…I am excited to see who they are going to be when they return, I hope they find the balance they deserve. Amazing album.

It's a song that strikes deep, I know it hit me in the same way. He's lived a life in his 20s that many will never relate to or have the opportunity to experience yet everything he has to say resonates so universally. He's genuinely a very very special person. If I can make one recommendation per your decision on tiny desk (and I know everyone enjoys music in their own way), Namjoon mentioned he hoped fans could listen through the album as is, in order, for the full experience. As a longtime army, it's one of my most memorable full album sit throughs I've ever experienced. I'm sure you're eager to get to tiny desk, I just wanted to offer my experienceThe beginning of the video and when youjeen sings the hook reminds me of RM and Jimin on American Hustle Life watching the fireworks and being in amazement of them. It brings a warm and fuzzy feeling to me. I love this album and it has a really good vibe where you can listen and reflect on your own life or just chill and enjoy the eclectic group of songs on the album. EDIT: . The words are powerful and somewhat painful to hear. But seeing it is his life through his 20s it make sense. Behind every smile is something deeper. Got to love the lyrics. When I goggled Youjeen it says she is into alternative music or a rock star. Her voice is so beautiful.

There’s so many references in this MV - his personal struggles, identity crisis, the pressure/intensity & the loneliness of his success etc. The lyrics are raw, emotional and heart wrenching that even just as a listener we empathise to him. Wild flower brought us along his roller coaster ride of his 20s (where he climbed becoming the biggest band in the world and what it feel like being on top) - the storm, fireworks, barren land, calm flower field. Very deep and personal song, I can see why he said that this song is so precious to him. RM has been the groups spokesperson, the main face/shield of BTS and been in the industry for more than a decade. I highly recommend to also watch the breakdown of Wildflower at itsANDYandJAS channel if you like to understand more of each message. It is very insightful.

As I said before, they fear of disappointing the ARMY, their families and companies, but they have given us so much. They gave us their best. They give us their best efforts to the point they started their own identity. Disappointing ARMY, WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

I don’t think I’ve ever felt closer to an artist than I have right now. It’s like he looked into my heart and soul and formed the pain into words that I didn’t know how to express. This is the most beautiful confession of real human emotions I’ve ever heard in a song. I will never truly know what it’s like to fill his shoes, but to know that we have shared a lot of the same feelings and inner struggles is comforting in a way. It is the most heartbreaking, hard hitting, and comforting song and I really hope from the bottom of my heart that he is okay and that he’s healing.💜

all i have is respect for namjoon, the young boy that he was to the man he is today. he's a person with so much passion and love, add up his talents, artisty, hard-work, and intellect. he's given us so much. so as for this song, i can't even believe i received musical perfection - sonically beautiful, visually captivating, and as for the message, i hear someone who's always fighting to understand himself and not to lose his core, with a silent prayer that he can just be him together with those who seem nameless but also special and not trapped by the restrictions of power and fame. thus, it has a promise too, that he'll be back on that stage as rm of bts. 💙💜

I love this song. He has the weight of the world on his shoulders. I think Hybe doesn't always have the boys back. I think some of the people there are more worried about commercial success than bts making great music... RM is trying to do a balancing act while being 💜true to himself and his brothers.

I love this album and this song. Its has music for everyone. This particular song reminds me of RM and Jimin watching the fireworks in American Hustle Life and how they were so amazed by them. Maybe when youjeen says "Flowerwork, it takes me back to that scene. However, let's remember that he has been working on these songs for the past 5yrs or so. I feel these songs are representative of the emotions and situations over that time period. And my hope is that he has been able to come to an understanding with himself of who he is and is able to accept his position within the industry and with his members.

Such a beautiful song and so much honesty. In a few places I have heard Namjoon say that this album is about his 20's and in a month he will be 30 years old. Maybe he is feeling a bit of angst about that? In the early days he worked so hard to succeed and along with all the other members they did succeed beyond their wildest dreams. Maybe more then they wanted to. It must be so hard to feel that you must constantly set an example for the other members, for the company and for all the fans all over the world out there who say that BTS has saved them etc. It's a responsibility that you may not always feel like living up to, especially if you don't feel that you asked for that much devotion in the first place. Maybe he thinks that he's chosen certain paths for the good of others, not for his own best interests. Regarding turning 30, I think when you're in your 20's it seems like this huge milestone, but when you're 50 or 60+, 30 still seems super young. I hope that as the years pass and so many more artisitic opportunities have been explored that he can look back at his entire body of work with fondness, appreciation and contentment.

I think you're right with your thoughts on this. I also feel like as the leader of the group he has had to take on a lot more than he thought. And it's been stressful. No one can know what it feels like to have almost the world look to you with hope and expectation. I'm pretty sure neither him or the other members expected their success to get as big as it became. When I look at the concerts and see how many ppl are there I find it amazing. I'm sure they feel overwhelmed. Also a lot of time he doesn't get the respect he deserves. He deserves a lot.

I can’t lie… this song shattered my soul. Tears flowing nonstop. Like most of us cheering them on as ARMY whether as BTS or individually, I’m wondering if this is RM’s letter to us about how hard it’s been and how unhappy he is/was. I know he loves BTS and he will always be committed but his happiness means more than that and not just for him but for all 7 of them. I hope when the time is right there’s more clarity and happiness for all of them. I really felt his pain and hardships in this song.
I always said despite their worldwide fame and success these seven members are not happy in their private lives. They give everything to everyone, the army, and their record company but true fulfillment eludes them cause of the restrictions laid on idols and performers. I have always been aware that one part of their faces is naked to the public and the other part is masked. I also know they are forced to live and perform like this and have been doing so for a long time. Jhope mentioned in his speech at the the MAMAs how sad or troubled he is about the things that they are unable to share with their fans and army. I can see that they genuinely love their fandom, and would love to rip the masks off so they can share with the fandom through their art the things that matter to them other than the things they have shown, like their life partners if they have one, and I know at least half of them do. They are adults but are forced to hide these important things. That is not right and I can only imagine the toll it has already taken on them. If I had the opportunity to say something to Namjoon, my ultimate bias wrecker, I would say this.
I prefer a naked face so I can know to who I'm investing my time and emotions to, but even with his mask on Namjoon, your beautiful spirit shines through. You guys have proven your worth many times over. Make or break my friends, forget about fans and army for now. Forget about the record company and all the demands made on your mind and your soul and live your lives how you see fit.

This whole album makes me feel like Namjoon is at a cross road right now. Everything that I've heard so far from Indigo has been wonderful. The Tiny Desk concert was soooo good....I watched it first thing this morning. RM is a master! And I agree with everything you said. And as they say "uneasy is the head that wears the crown" I'm so happy that he's released this album. He said he's been working on it for 4 years and I'm sure there is a bit of peace in him now.
Bawled my eyes out, that was sad, i feel like hes struggling a lil bit so he wants us all to know how hes feeling , thats what i love about him, so open, honest and always trying to give positivity even when hes clearly having some issues himself.. i hope he gets thru this and we can support, love and help him the way hes helped so mani of us when we were down and out etc .... i think after his service hell come out and be rap moster again and give some hardcore rap like he use too...

this song is so deep it takes me back to festa where you could tell he was struggling with the weight of the world on his heart ! that event left me so shook because i could feel his pain his hurt his worries that festa made me an emotional wreck after watching it and seeing him almost in tears, like so many others i felt helpless that i could not do anything to ease his pain at that very momonet ! , all we can do as army is be there and support them through all of this no matter what ! he was very gracious to share a deep part of his thoughts and feeling to us it was just simply bueatiful in every lyric spoken and written it was very personal !
