I would disagree that the smell faints away. I’ve had it on all day and the smell lasted. I bought it and I think it’s a beautiful smell. It’s not your typical “rose” smell. I love it!

i've gotten a sample of rose prick with some other blind bought and i fall in love with it. i can say on my skin i was able to smell it all day long.

Black orchid is my second favourite after tabacco vanille it’s the most complex scent ever even more complex than Tom Ford Private blend I get 10 hours and because it got 23 ingredients in it which including the Black Orchid flower in it which is specifically only grows in Tom Ford garden and it’s the darkest orchid on planet and that sweet chocolate smells like heaven to me

I've had the fragrance on twice now, it's not so much that it disappears it just gets extremely soft on the skin. To the point where you need to be holding your palm to your nose to smell it. On others, the fragrance completes changes - depending on the acidity of your skin.
However, as many of you will know... there is forever a story behind the fragrance.
And the private collection is always about pushing boundaries and playing on sexual connations. Rose Prick is no different, presenting female and male in the name itself. With this in mind, the fragrance is meant to be very intimate. Something that only a person who gets very close to you should be able to smell and notice.
Therefore, this fragrance will not be for everyone and that's ok. There are some many others that will. I love that Tom explores and creates such artistry with his brand!
Great review! When I go for a beautiful Rose scent, I prefer “Portrait of a Lady” by Frederic Malle. Surprisingly it’s very masculine in my opinion. Unisex is a good label for it despite the name...
Totally agree on your review. If someone does not have rose perfume in their collection…. I would recommend it…. If they can live without roses that it’s not best of Tom Ford is simply nice.
This is my first time sampling Tom Ford, and I agree with this review so much! Just from my initial impression. It is nice, but not wow. Very incensey to me. Need to try others from his line.

Sorry - got to disagree. This is the most sumptuous, gorgeous perfume I've ever smelt. I'm not a rose fan either, but my friend and I agreed we could barely smell those notes. Now if I could just afford it.....sigh.

Ombré leather is so underrated
OL is one of my favorite TF fragrances.... and I have (or have had) quite a few of them...

Great review Robin. Some women I have read love it. I guess it depends on skin chemistry. Tom Ford needs to fix the Neroli Portofino line because it doesn’t even last for 30 minutes! The fragrance is amazing with gorgeous projection of Neroli but come on Tom Ford, he is better than this!!! I have sampled the Neroli Aqua by Clean Reserve and it knocked Tom Ford out of the park! Suggest you check it out. It’ll blow your mind!

I hated it at first, but grew to love it . I had to buy a bottle. A small one . I would have loved the big one but it’s too pricey.

I was not particularly looking forward to this release as I thought I wouldn't be able to pull off a Rose fragrance and don't usually like floral scents! Stopped by Tom Ford yesterday and was completely shocked by how amazing this smelled on the opening and it lasted on my girlfriend's skin for a good 6-8 hours. Not sure I will wear it which is a shame but I would love to smell this on someone and it is a perfect spring/summer scent for a young woman. So completely disagree with Robin on this one and suggest people go and test it themselves.

@@ManForHimself Smelled great and is still close to the skin even a day later. I still need to test the projection time properly as I only sprayed it on my wrist. Trying to convince myself I could pull it off with a light summer shirt but we will see!

Hello... Actualy, i bouth in last week Tom Ford Black Orchyd, what you think about? I love the darkness, heavy and mystirious smell... but I understand that it is not an easy perfume to accept, especially for those who do not appreciate the art of perfumers...(sorry my English, im from Portugal)

Robin i seen a bottle of Tom ford for sale.called life time refill supply.any idea what the heck that means?
People pleasing for sure but for that price point I'm looking for something more distinctive. These latest releases and flankers seem like a novelty to me. They're upgraded designer scents, not niche, artistic or as different as the 10+ year old scents that launched the line back in 2006 and onwards. Plus the claim of "natural" ingredients when they're made from synthetics is totally disingenuous

Sounds like my reformulated batch of Oud Wood: a beautiful member of the private blend line, but performance is pretty poor.
I do love an Oud Wood though.
I am a woman and ordered a mini sample of this scent for $11. I find it very bland. Too many Tom Ford scents are bland and have a backdrop of tobacco or a manny spice. The scent descriptions and packaging are great, but the product isn't. This was the third scent of Tom Ford I'd tried, and it will be the last.

I usually love Tom Ford scents, mostly his Private blends but this one is a NO for me. After 5 mins it became a skin scent. And Lost Cherry is revolting, made me sick to my stomach, I had to throw the sample away. And the F’ing Fabulous one was also a Huge disappointment. Nothing fabulous at all. He hasn’t put out a good scent since Vanille Fatale. What’s going on with Tom Ford? I guess he’s thinking “the idiots will buy piss in a bottle if I put it out” and from what I see, he’s right. Sadly.
Rose de Chine is quite nice. It smells like pretty fresh Rose and then a subtle spice at the end. It's very pretty. It was released last year. I bought a bottle yesterday.
