I’m an RN and I will NOT volunteer myself as tribute. I can’t wait to get out of healthcare in this country with how broken this system is. The way we were treated, the lack of PPE, administration and CEO’s don’t care. I have never seen a more broken system with corporate greed at the middle of it all. I have been a highly decorated RN receiving multiple awards for above and beyond, but now I have to go above and beyond for myself and family. I’m not volunteering myself in this broken system any longer.
Many agree with you. Signing up to save lives is not the same as a all out war with safety issues to save many at a time.

Same here i been a Nurse for 20 years in april never again will i ever volunteer nor raise my hand, i have 5 children and it's not worth it because of the broken system.

We nurses dont feel scared when we are in the site caring our patient.. its nice to go home that you care people and get well.. i got sick too .. but not once i regret .. i said to God take care of my children when am away.. but i get well so i went back to work ..

@@ReallyBadJuJu Sometimes life deals us a bad hand. Sometimes it feels like where helpless. I was a thief, a beggar, and a drug addict for 15 years. In and out of Jail. God saved me . He met me right where I was at, in a pit of misery. He can pull you out of any pit that you might be in. Even if you try to ignore Him , God will keep drawing you back to Himself . He is faithful even if we're faithless. It's never to late turn around and find rest in Christ Jesus.

@Doug M trust me I'm sure nurses would prefer there normal lives back and not live at the hospitals and work normal hours again. We all want our normal lives back. Alot of my family members work at hospitals. I wish you could see what they do.

Some people value social justice/ service above fame and fortune. This is what makes them happy and and guide them to lead a good life. Just because you value self preservation/ financial gain more ...does not mean it's fake news. You cannot comprehend their actions because you view it from your own perspective. Sure they get paid and finally getting recognition long overdue. But the fact of the matter is that there are people dying of Covid and these are the people that take care of them, give them compassion and hopefully heal them.
