Cal Expo Summer concerts were everything if you were a teen in Sacramento during the 80’s. So many memories! So cool of Tesla to shine the light on Sac like they did!
I have 2 old friends who were out there that night for the taping. They made it to the front row. Tesla is still loyal to their blue collar roots. How many others from that time period can sasy that, love these guys, great music.
I was there as well. They played this song 5 times to get all the footage. Cal Expo Amphitheater was the best venue I've been to hands down to see a show. So many bands came through there back in the day! This show was my first time of many seeing Tesla!

This video was shot in their hometown at a concert at the Cal Expo Amphitheater in Sacramento, California. I wasn't at the concert, but I had many friends that were, and some are seen in the video. Unfortunately, the Amphitheater has been gone for many years. Nice reaction.
This was the first song I ever heard from the band Tesla in 1989. It is from the album "The Great Radio Controversy". From that day forward, I was a fan and I even got to see them in live Los Angeles when I moved there to start my own band some years later. Outside of "Heaven's Trail" this is probably my favorite Tesla song! This band should have been so much bigger than they were. They should have been up right up there with bands like Def Leppard and Van Halen.
saw them in concert back in 1990. Tesla was opening for Motley Crue. I tell you, I didn't know too much of their music at the time, but they played their hearts out. Motley Crue had the big money to put on an great show, but Telsa sounded excellent in concert.
