The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Master Quest Longplay

- 100% longplay of the Master Quest version of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. It’s mostly the same game as the 1998 classic, except with redesigned dungeon layouts that offer a greater challenge over the original. I recorded this using the GameCube port of Ocarina of Time, which also contains the Master Quest.
This playthrough covers everything entailed in achieving 100% completion, which means all Pieces of Heart, optional items/equipment/weapons, Bottles, Gold Skulltula tokens (and their corresponding milestone rewards), Great Fairy upgrades/powerups, Ocarina songs, item expansions (Bomb Bags, Quivers etc.), minigames, side quests and everything else in the whole game.
Time stamps for dungeons & major sidequests:
11:05 - Deku Tree
1:43:23 - Dodongo’s Cavern
2:50:00 - Jabu-Jabu’s Belly
3:36:42 - Happy Mask Sidequest
3:44:07 - Deku Tree (revisited)
3:48:51 - Dodongo’s Cavern (revisited)
3:53:49 - Jabu-Jabu’s Belly (revisited)
4:23:36 - Forest Temple
5:19:24 - Fire Temple
5:59:16 - Big Poe Sidequest
6:10:05 - Ice Cavern
6:24:27 - Biggoron’s Sword Sidequest
6:41:30 - Water Temple
7:39:13 - Bottom of the Well
7:50:36 - Jabu-Jabu’s Belly (revisited again)
7:57:09 - Shadow Temple
8:58:30 - Spirit Temple (first visit; adult)
9:03:29 - Spirit Temple (second visit; child)
9:23:29 - Spirit Temple (third visit; adult)
9:44:33 - Spirit Temple (fourth visit; child)
9:45:13 - Spirit Temple (fifth visit; adult).
10:18:57 - Gerudo Training Ground
10:37:14 - Ganon’s Castle
Let me know if I missed any time stamps and I will go ahead and add them; this is a really long video obviously so I may have missed some.
There were a lot of tedious backtracking sequences from 3:22:55 to 3:54:56, especially those involving revisiting previous dungeons, backtracking to already-explored areas to collect Gold Skulltula Tokens and a few other collectibles that couldn’t be obtained during my first visit, and the Happy Mask Sidequest. Consequently I decided to just do that part of the game (and a few others) in a sort of montage format, otherwise you’d have to sit through about an hour of backtracking which I don’t feel is necessary to show for the purposes of this longplay.
Sorry about the inconsistent cropping, unlike most Gamecube games this only runs at 60hz and my DVD recorder acts up whenever it’s anything above 50, so unfortunately there wasn’t much I could do about that. Hope it isn’t too bothersome.
If you have any feedback, or questions about anything related to the video, feel free to leave a comment; I check them frequently and will always respond to questions within 24 hours. Thanks for watching :D
This is where it all started for me.. that's my childhood right there.
Love this. I'm abroad right now (In California) and having this to watch in the evenings (still three weeks before my fiance joins me) has really helped the loneliness and anxiety somehow. Thanks for this.
Cool story. Glad to help :)
Couples r stupid
The Master Quest version is more fun than the original version.
@Bill Blass different? theyre the same dungeons just different version of the dungeon.
Additional monsters and different locations of the Gold Skulltula
I say, excellent video!
I am so slow that I just figured out that your name was I say when you hit the goron with the same name.
Before that I was like "why the hell does everyone say "I say" ???" lmao
I’ve always seen this version in the stores as a kid but I already had the n64 one. This is a trip actually
Bruh... it really cool how u used the stick on the boss and some regular size monsters. I played this plenty of Zelda games when I was younger but I didn’t even notice u can used the stick to get a good kick out of the boss and the monsters. At the same time it’s really funny with the stick and especially using the “I say”as his name too.
I want a switch port. I didn't even know this one existed
Recording this myself right now. Your run is incredibly perfectioned, geez.
Thanks, I do try to be thorough with my work
Doctormario4600 are you a PAL gamer? That 60hz thing irks me a little, so does that mean you are from PAL
Yes I am a PAL gamer, though Master Quest can only be played at 60hz
Dang, You're soooooo awesome with this long play
+Cordell Grace Aww, thanks. :D
Introduction is flawless
I was very judgemental in the beginning when you didn't name your save as Link but actually the I say made me chuckle quite a few times. Good call! :D
On the 3DS, this game is flipped for Master Quest, like Twilight Princess for Wii.
Worst of all, you take twice as much damage than before. But that’s not the case for the GameCube version.
This version looks mad hard, I'd like to give it a shot someday cuz I've played the original ocarina of time to absolute death.
Its kinda lame that they only changed the dungeons though, it would have been more interesting if the overworld & side quests were changed up a bit, kinda like in Zelda 1's second quest.
Awesome longplay this was really cool to see! What do you reckon is the hardest dungeon in master quest out of curiosity?
That is a very good point actually, I do like the dungeon redesigns as they are but it definitely would have been better if other parts were changed as well!
Thanks Bella, I'm glad you enjoyed :) I remember having some trouble with the Deku Tree on my first try since you only have three hearts and the dungeon is chock-full of enemies that can do quite a bit of damage; but I actually found the Spirit Temple to be the hardest overall - some of the puzzles in that dungeon are just downright evil!
Doctormario4600 I think the 3DS version uses the redesigned dungeons and flips them as well along with the entire world
Yeah it does. Also you take double damage from enemies. It's a lot harder than the version in this video
You mean like the maps right? The castle is not were it's supposed to be, Lon Lon Ranch, Kakariko Village, etc etc.
7:28 they removed that metal effect in 3DS wtf
IKR!
They should've remastered the models sense this is on the GameCube I mean come on
* scary boss music plays *
Link kills in 4 hits
This is my all time favorite game I play this game all day I need to get my boyfriend to play this game with me when he's not on tour.
Sorry to not quote you on that but isn't master quest mirrored in the 3ds?
It is, yeah.
And after seeing the almost the majority of the dungeons as an adult, makes me not want to shut up about it and ask, "did he really not screw up inside the water temple?"
Which is my least favorite dungeon. And let's put it this way. In the 3ds version, it does a really good job for letting you put on the iron boots without pausing every 5 seconds to make it less bull crap.
Man, memories
The master quest is hard. They have on the 3D remake for the Nintendo 3DS.
Yeah I've 100%'d that one too, the 3DS one's definitely harder than the Gamecube one, since the game's mirrored and you take double damage.
When he slashes at the final guy he saves after collected all the skultala coins killed me 😂😂😂
Stupid bastard just gave me 200 rupees after a whole game's worth of hard work. :P
That always annoyed me no neeed for them at that point of the game. Something to help beat ganon wouldve been better
Yeah one more thing can't tell which is the difference between the Official game + GameCube & 3ds version
Wow has been a long while I played this!
2:02:20 ALLAHU AKBAR. 2:50:50 Whenever I see this, I always think about Navi saying, "Why the fuck are cows here?" xD A better question: what kinda drugs were the developers on when they inserted cows into this dungeon? xD6:19:25 Ganondorf: "Hey, who's guarding the Iron Boots from Link?"Developers: "Well, Mr. Ganondorf sir, we've ran into a bit of budget problem and had to fire the White Wolfos guarding the chest, sooo...we had to hire another Stalfos to do the job; cheap labor, y'know?"Ganondork: "FUUUUUUUUCK."6:44:14 Holy crap, you beat all three Stalfos without taking damage. Awesome job, dude!7:05:24 It's a Dodongo orgy!9:06:15 LMAO, that Anubis REALLY wanted to see what was in that chest!9:42:10 I must admit, I like this puzzle! Using the items near the gates to figure out which correct song to play is very unique and interesting!10:32:25 Best. Message. EVER. xD11:08:54 Lol, Ganondork is like, "HA, missed me--*gets hit* DURGGH."
Awesome long play as always! :D
2:02:20 That’s funny because it’s actually the most effective to kill those Armos Statues haha.
2:50:50 Those cows are so hilariously random. I love it.
6:19:25 You weren't kidding when you said this game loves Stalfos!
6:44:14 Thanks, although admittedly I got pretty lucky at 6:43:43 lol.
7:05:24 I find that so odd that there’s a group of Dodongos in the Water Temple of all places. Most out-of-place enemy ever lol.
9:06:15 Lmao! I love when that stuff like that happens. Just recently I was playing Majora’s Mask and an enemy was about a quarter of a second away from hitting me when I opened a chest, and it just got frozen in mid-air. xD
9:42:10 Gotta agree with you there, that’s definitely one of the less dickish puzzles in this game, which is quite a nice change of pace haha.
10:32:25 I burst out into laughter the first time I saw that. xD
11:08:54 Hahaha. The ‘DURGGH’ sound makes that so much funnier.
Thanks for watching and commenting dude. Your comments always give me a good laugh.
I never knew that this existed
Excente el vídeo
Have you played mojoras mask?
Yeah, I did a longplay of it
Very good gameplay, so it took u forever to play the whole thing
It is a pretty long game yeah
Jeez its censored how i know one Gannondorf spits out green blood and not red
Yeah the only uncensored versions are the first N64 cartridges that came out. All Gamecube ones are censored.
Doctormario4600 other than that you did a great job on your longplay never played the Master quest version i know the main enemies i hate is the moving wiggly platforms and the tentacles in Lord Jabu jabu
I wish Master Quest was on the Nintendo Switch
Like the GameCube version of OOT on switch
@@Mister-Germ I think we all do! I mean come on Nintendo this year marks the 35th anniversary of Zelda! What have you got to lose?
How do you not get a headache or get tired
A magical thing called video editing!
Doctormario4600 ohh so it wasn't consistently playing
i was gonna say does he just go in a bucket? 🤣
9:22 YARE YARE DAZE
