Amen brother! I rescued a 330b from a dumpster in 1997, while working for a temp agency in college. That was the beginning of my hi-do life, this little receiver actually changed my life. The sound it makes is astonishing. I bought a 730 two years ago, I will NEVER let it go. These dual power HK units are the cats ass! God Bless, and have a fine Christmas Brother.
I just bought my first Harmon Kardon receiver its a HK 670 I should have it in a few days but I love the fact that it's also duel stage It reminds me of two separate monoblocks in one receiver I will have it fully refurbished as well. Thanks for this video
The power supply was roughly the same size as the 930s power supply. Sonically they are nearly identical. But the 1977 citation had a more sensitive tuner. W the transistor upgrade to the 930, the power output is nearly identical. 🎉
$350 for that was a steal, the 930 and 730 can walk amongst the giants, if not win overall, costing several thousand. Even against kr-9600, 2325 and 2275, sx-950 and many many others, my favorite receivers are also the 730 and 930. I think looks and build quality and sound alone they should be $1500-2000 if restored in todays money, i do believe their that incredible.
Agree 100%, the 730 & 930 are absolutely deserving of being placed amongst the best vintage receivers. They blow the doors off most of the cult of personality units that are 4-6 times the price. My daily driver is a 730, also have a 330b since 1997.
First thanks for the great video. I recently purchased a 930 myself and although it is fully functioning I am going to fully recap as it is 50 years old and all original. I hadn't really thought about replacing the transistors. Was wondering if you could tell me exactly which 250 watt transistors you used. Thanks for any help in advance. By the way I agree fully with your assessment and this is one of my favourite receivers of all time.
Would you consider sharing your parts list for the upgrades? Thx. I have all the twin power units 930,730,630,430, and all the 330 single powered. Would like to restore them all. Thanks!!
I have a 430 and just got the 930 because I loved my 430 so much…. Would it be possible to get a parts list for the upgrades? Thank you in advance and God Bless

I bought a 430 for my Cornwalls. I like it better than my new $2200 Marantz 40n.
Amen. Appreciate your witness for the Lord
God bless you my friend. 🎉
Top of the Line was the 1977 Citation Receiver 85 watts per channel high current built with military spec parts.
You are right! 🎉. Almost an experimental receiver in some ways.
So true my friend.my brother still has his.

again thank you so much@@afathersdevotions
I have had mine since 1973. The only weakness I have experienced is that the FM drifts up over time when in continuous use.

Read the description on my Pt 2 video to-get a parts list.
Thank you! Luv HK Twins❤
Probably wanting to leave it with nothing on top of it bc of airflow ventilation aye.
Harman Kardon is an underestimated Brand, it has a quality, some other-brands never reached, own a few pieces, older ones and a few newer till 2008😊
Great video ❤️
what about the HK 505 ? no tuner but still twin power
As was the hk665😂
I have this receiver bought new, haven’t used in 30 years. I live in San Jose, CA…..any suggestions where I can get is serviced?
I have heard good things about pacific audio.
What speakers are you using with the 930?
Low end Sony towers w 6 inch woofers. Definitely not the equal of this receiver.

Datza nice unit
Great to hear other christians in HiFi.
Yea but not high end just junk with Japan parts
For its wattage rating its overbuilt . It may be ugly to look at but not junk for its era.
And the problem with Japanese parts is....?
@@rosewoodsteel6656 I think he is comparing german automotive engineering to Japanese audio engineering for some reason
H8tr
That's hilarious😂, a 730 or 930 will walk most luxmans and macs like a dog, ask me how I know.
