I raised hell in the deserts of the southwest and SoCal 20 years ago not much older than him. Things can get absolutely wild like nothing I’ve experienced anywhere else and out of control. I’ve seen multiple life flights and a two deaths from accidents. This could very well have been a drunken accident with drunk teens panicking to cover it up. We can only hope they can figure this out to bring a small amount of closer to his family.
His family reported him missing. Not the people who drove him there. And they didn't intend to rob him because he left all of his belongings at someone's home who he recently met. So, he had nothing on him. He probably only had his phone on him. And a migrant isn't gonna drive him there. The homeless encampment out there were Americans btw, as most are. But they were cleaned up some weeks ago.

There's something more to this for someone just visiting. And yet not with his parents,so,there's somewhere else where his belongings were. And left there,and he ends up out there. My condolences to the family,this really says victim.
My cousin was brutally beaten over a miscommunication with the occupants of a homeless encampment. My cousin was not living on the streets but is suffering from mental illness, went off his meds and began self medicating with narcotics and that is how he began associating with encampments. One day they had a miscommunication based on an assumption and the mob mentality took hold. Completely drugged out, they beat him and left to die. He was missing for days, we thought the worst. Only to discover he was admitted to a hospital as John Doe and completely unrecognizable. He survived and is now legally blind and talks like he's 10 years old. He has 5 kids, multiple grandkids. The people who did this to him are currently in jail for attempt of murder. They wanted to kill him. They do not care about the consequences and they will kill you without hesitation. I'd put my money on it that this was a case of at the wrong place at the wrong time. The guy in the video said they had just cleaned up some encampments from the area? I suspect this was retaliatory. Arizona's homeless population is a fraction of LA's but it feels close. I can recall going to Tuscon around the time the space shuttle broke up in the atmosphere and I remember seeing this park off of Speedway near the 10 fwy that always reminded me of skid row. Later in 2015 I trained in Tempe to be an insurance agent and grew annoyed at being asked for money at every freeway exit and the entrance of nearly every store in Phoenix. Even in Scottsdale, young guys were beggin for money outside of TopGolf. As someone with family going back to the 1840's in California, Arizona you'd be wise to do the exact opposite of what California does. I barely even recognize my own home anymore.
The cleaning up the encampment was by the locals not the boy who was murdered. So it couldn’t have been retaliation. The young man probably went with people he barely knew and got into something over his head or way to get out. And it cost him his life.

I am aware that he was not involved in the cleanup, that's exactly what I was implying about wrong place at the wrong time. From what I have observed, when you are on a binge or suffering from mental illness, it doesn't matter who did it. It's like a bee hive. A group of kids sees the hive, they throw rocks at it, do not get too much of a reaction so they leave. 5 minutes later an old lady walking her dog strolls past the hive, is attacked by a pissed off swarm of bees. After the encampment was cleaned up, if they wanted blood, or vengence, the only one who would be safe walking through there would be anyone who is unhoused or homeless. It's an us and them community. This could have been retaliation, I sincerely would not be surprised. This could have been something else. But the motive is surely there for retaliation.

In affluent Scottsdale, there have been reports by women (Mothers with children) that they are being watched and/or followed at shopping locations. Homeless camps are located in various areas around Superstition Mountain and I have seen debris field left by immigrants after they pass through. It's the current state of the country and I advise hikers like myself to be aware, cautious and armed. I am not saying it is bad around every corner but, take no chances.

That is just at that bull dog Canyon entrance. I went there a couple years ago. I wouldn't camp there then. Don't understand why other entrances are gated and that one is open. You have to have a code to drive through the other entrances. I have camped at them and seriously no problems. Sorry for the loss hope you find them.

Evil is outweighing good in the world progressively. This is really a gruesome act.
If it was, the imaginary god of the Bible would be destroying cities like he supposedly did before.
This has been going on for thousands of years, if not worse. Except kings and queens aren’t sacrificing their servants for their blood and using that blood to try and stay young. The world isn’t getting “progressively evil” at all , it’s just being reported on more.
I kind of cringe by your use of the word “progressively” due to how unfamiliar some people are with its various uses and implications. It’s kind of like the term “progressive cancer” which is somewhat of a misnomer in its use. If not due to its usage in identity politics as “virtue signaling”, the action mechanisms of each word “progressive” and “cancer” are opposed for variety of reasons.
I really don’t care to get into that at the moment as I’m just pointing out that this is right next to “double speak” in its resulting misuses.
The vernacular that one uses is often as result of intentional direction to affect another’s behavior and decision making. Thus they aren’t the only ones succumbing to it and are often not aware of it themselves.

I raised hell in the deserts of the southwest and SoCal 20 years ago not much older than him. Things can get absolutely wild like nothing I’ve experienced anywhere else and out of control. I’ve seen multiple life flights and a two deaths from accidents. This could very well have been a drunken accident with drunk teens panicking to cover it up. We can only hope they can figure this out to bring a small amount of closer to his family.

His family reported him missing. Not the people who drove him there. And they didn't intend to rob him because he left all of his belongings at someone's home who he recently met. So, he had nothing on him. He probably only had his phone on him. And a migrant isn't gonna drive him there. The homeless encampment out there were Americans btw, as most are. But they were cleaned up some weeks ago.

You took “illegal encampment” as meaning illegals running from the borders instead of just homegrown vagrants with criminals and killers hiding out which is always problematic for police investigating murders out in deserts. Search back to the original report of this grizzly murder hear it for yourselves. Your serious error was to misinterpret the word to fit a false narrative which is intentionally twisting the facts of the case’s investigation and putting the police on notice not to do their job correctly.

My cousin was brutally beaten over a miscommunication with the occupants of a homeless encampment. My cousin was not living on the streets but is suffering from mental illness, went off his meds and began self medicating with narcotics and that is how he began associating with encampments. One day they had a miscommunication based on an assumption and the mob mentality took hold. Completely drugged out, they beat him and left to die. He was missing for days, we thought the worst. Only to discover he was admitted to a hospital as John Doe and completely unrecognizable. He survived and is now legally blind and talks like he's 10 years old. He has 5 kids, multiple grandkids. The people who did this to him are currently in jail for attempt of murder.
They wanted to kill him. They do not care about the consequences and they will kill you without hesitation. I'd put my money on it that this was a case of at the wrong place at the wrong time. The guy in the video said they had just cleaned up some encampments from the area? I suspect this was retaliatory.
Arizona's homeless population is a fraction of LA's but it feels close. I can recall going to Tuscon around the time the space shuttle broke up in the atmosphere and I remember seeing this park off of Speedway near the 10 fwy that always reminded me of skid row. Later in 2015 I trained in Tempe to be an insurance agent and grew annoyed at being asked for money at every freeway exit and the entrance of nearly every store in Phoenix. Even in Scottsdale, young guys were beggin for money outside of TopGolf.
As someone with family going back to the 1840's in California, Arizona you'd be wise to do the exact opposite of what California does. I barely even recognize my own home anymore.

The cleaning up the encampment was by the locals not the boy who was murdered. So it couldn’t have been retaliation. The young man probably went with people he barely knew and got into something over his head or way to get out. And it cost him his life.
@@dstre17 I wan't involved with the Santa Ana river cleanup in OC or in San Clemente, however I would not go to either location for weeks or months after the cleanup. I am aware that he was not involved in the cleanup, that's exactly what I was implying about wrong place at the wrong time. From what I have observed, when you are on a binge or suffering from mental illness, it doesn't matter who did it. It's like a bee hive. A group of kids sees the hive, they throw rocks at it, do not get too much of a reaction so they leave. 5 minutes later an old lady walking her dog strolls past the hive, is attacked by a pissed off swarm of bees. After the encampment was cleaned up, if they wanted blood, or vengence, the only one who would be safe walking through there would be anyone who is unhoused or homeless. It's an us and them community. This could have been retaliation, I sincerely would not be surprised. This could have been something else. But the motive is surely there for retaliation.
Its a great little community. The people go out to the area to burn furniture, pallets and bodies.

To the below comment below of "what's going on in Arizona"? We are witnessing the intentional destruction of our current society. I live near that area. Illegals were apprehended near here recently. Sheriff's office has a lot of territory to cover and this allows for local crooks and a number of out-of-staters to take advantage of sparse law enforcement. Drug use is prevalent and legalizing drugs hasn't helped one bit. In fact, crime has become worse. In affluent Scottsdale, there have been reports by women (Mothers with children) that they are being watched and/or followed at shopping locations. Homeless camps are located in various areas around Superstition Mountain and I have seen debris field left by immigrants after they pass through.
It's the current state of the country and I advise hikers like myself to be aware, cautious and armed. I am not saying it is bad around every corner but, take no chances.
