    Awesome 👏. Agriculture is the key thing, that will eliminate hunger and increase revenue to local farmers, and international markets.

    Great work on Food Security, indeed, Madam!
    I had no idea how to do it for sure, despite having worked with Madam Onyango in Nairobi County for a while
    She has narrated it well

    What about the Nduma (pit) garden? Do we still add the layer of hard core stones?

      On raised beds we use roots as first layer, big roots from trees or anything like that.

    Why do you put stones in the first layer. I thought putting soil only would be enough

    How does the garden drain water in the case of excess rain?

    • @maryrainwater1883
      @maryrainwater1883 3 года назад +1

      That's a good question. When building mine, I will add some few holes at the bottom before I fill it with hard core material or on each corner to allow water to drain.

      Unless you get a lot of rain where you live, I think it isn't necessary. But if you do get enough rain to make the soil muddy if there is no drain, put one small hole near the top of the hard material. If that is not enough to drain it properly, add another small hole on the other side. That is what I will do next time I make one, because I put my hole too low, so not enough water is retained.
