Played a destro warlock in vanilla, I would always let the immolate get at least 1-2 ticks before I conflaged, throwing a searing pain or two while it ticks. Rarely used shadow bolts because the searing pain is such a high crit rating and half the cast time. Just my thoughts. Good duels.
How much shadow resist does their shadow resist aura give? My Felhunter has a whopping 250 resist in all schools of magic, and still dies quite fast to other warlock dots/mage AoE. Not entirely sure how helpful Curse of Shadows would be.
Any tips for setting up key binds with this build? I have a Razor Naga, but your movement timing and flow are so good! Just thought I was ask. Would be curious to know how you setup your skills. Thanks!

Why not both? That's my plan. I have more fun in BGs on my Hunter. But my warlock is a little bit better at duels than my Hunter, as long as its not up against a smart rogue.
It's up to your play style. Both classes have pets, but one is magic and one is physical. Both great classes, warlock scales better with gear. Up to you.

I'm not the video author, but I will give you my experience dueling on this server. Rogues are kings for 1v1 duels with all their cds. This server resets cds after a duel, so rogues are mostly one trick ponies. But that one trick they pull off is near unbeatable if played right. Second place would be a skilled Mage. Mage IMO has the highest skill cap of any class in PvP. At first I always thought hunters had the highest skill ceiling (but with a super low skill floor), but after meeting a few mages on this server, they have changed my mind about how big the gap can be between mediocre and pro. Matchups you think a mage would lose (versus a hunter) mages can confidently win 100% of if they are skilled. They are also similar to rogues in that they rely heavily on long cooldowns. Third place would probably be warlocks. I main a warlock and hunter on this server, and while I am not great, I am winning more than I am losing. Fourth would be Hunter. High burst, high control and a lot of options to out play enemies 1v1. The above opinions come from my time spent dueling people on this private server. But this private server will not be close to what Classic will launch as. So things may change depending on gear.

It's nearly impossible to beat a skilled rogue as a warlock. Even with succubus, a good rogue will trinket first seduce after his opener, and if you try to re-seduce he will shadow-reflect, making the duel pretty much over. If you cannot stop a rogues opener, he just snowballs into a win. Of course this assumes the rogue has literally every cd and the use of all potential pvp items is enabled. In the real world (or real servers) rogues wont always be running around with all their cooldowns and a shadowreflect / pvp trinket equipped. Also felstriker is overpowered as fuck. Chance on hit to make all your attacks criticals for 3 seconds. Luckily its a rare drop from a boss of a 5 man. It will be as common as Ironfoe or Swift Hand of Justice. Without the use of Shadow reflect, I can win against an evenly matched Rogue about 45-55% of the time. Without shadowreflect AND trinket, I would only lose if I misplayed hard. If any warlock is reading this, one of the tips I have learnt through a series of duels with a few different skilled rogues is to leave your succubus 10+ yards away from you. This will allow you to get a seduce off without it being kicked/gouged (with sprint) / blinded during the rogues opener. If he uses sprint to quickly make up the distance and then blind, then the rogue obviously knows his shit. To make up for that, you'll have to leave your succubus even further away from you (30 yards is max distance for seduce, 10 yards for blind).
@- Your welcome. I'm not sure how different real classic WoW will be compared to this private server. Apparently this server is running 1.8 itemization. This means the items are in the state they were during 1.8. Items might have been buffed/nerfed since then during 1.12 That's not to say you won't get anything out of practicing on a server like this. It's a lot of fun too, just a bunch of people dueling.
I believe that in any real fight, at the highest skill cap, it comes down to who can predict the other opponents next move. Every class has some way or item to get them out of incoming CC.
How do you self cast the purge from your felhunter so quickly? I thought it was a macro but it looks like you are using the same button to purge the enemy also?

1. Warrior (with slightly more gear) 2. Tough one, I would say warrior because of recklessness. Otherwise a dagger rogue can 1 shot in a cheap shot. 3. 100% Warrior. My record is 5.7k execute with only zerker buff and blue gear. My rogue ambush record is 3.2k.

@James Knight It actually doesn't. Soul Link is not as strong as people remember. First of all, the Succubus pet is extremely squishy. If you run with Succy, it will be killed while you sit in a blind. It will die in a few seconds against a rogues burst. Second if you decide to run voidwalker, the barriers help a bit. However they do not make up the difference of having a way to deal with a rogues opener. Two 2.3k barriers is not going to make you last long enough against a skilled rogue with every cooldown at disposal. Rogues have arguably highest burst in the game. To put it in perspective, without Soul Link (I don't run a soul link build in duels) my health is at 60% by the time my Succubus is able to cast the first seduce on a rogues opener. So in the time it takes for succubus to cast a 1.5-2 second (I forget) cast seduce, a rogues opener deals 40% of my life. Third, if you are playing Soul Link + voidwalker, by sacrificing your VW you are losing your Soul Link buff. It is actually insane how fast a pet can die just due to the soul link damage alone if you decide to leave it up until after the rogues opener. While VW might seem like a better choice, it really just delays the inevitable loss. Succubus on other hand allows you to beat rogues who are not running PvP Trinket + Shadow Reflector (if a rogue uses both of those, it is impossible to beat him). The Soul Link buff is greatly misremembered. Rogues damage shreds through your life bar twice over within the span of two openers.
Visoth sure, a skilled rogue beats most opponents to be honest. It’s the hard counter for warlocks, but that’s skilled rogues. Most rogues are kids running around having a go, lucky enough. I’m going alliance, though it’s a bit gimped as a warlock, but because of the lesser numbers I should get up there with the gear. My main was a rogue in Vanilla, I don’t remember having difficulty with warlocks. Warriors were the worst from my experience.
@@zepho100 A good warrior can be scary. They have burst that can get close to rogue burst. I was crit 2.4k MS followed by a 1k auto attack in a split second. But the way to confidently beat a warrior as warlock is to succubus spam him with Soulfire/shadowbolts. My opener is always Seduce -> Curse of Shadows -> Soulfire -> immediate death coil -> Immolate -> start casting seduce -> conflag to break immolate dot -> shadowbolt -> shadowburn. This works on the average warrior who is not using shadow reflect. If a warrior is smart, and a warlock is dumb, the warrior would charge in and fear the succubus away. That's why I always leave succubus ~20m away when starting a fight.

Borus101 hunter is amazing for world pvp but is countered by a lot of classes, it’s basically the annoying class that stays at long range viper stinging all the casters. Warlock is a 1v1 god and is top tier in BGs. Your also very unlikely to find a raiding spot as a hunter unless your in a decent guild.

I heard Warlock doesn't do well at all against things like warrior but haven't heard much about hunter. I used to play Mage so don't really want that again, and Warrior seems hard to level and gear up
Borus101 to be honest hunter has the highest skill ceiling in the game but you’ll be constantly tunnelled by most classes because of viper sting rotation, you basically will die a lot in WSG and AB but you will completely dominate in AV

Borus101 destruction is pretty skilled tbh affliction is very simple and easy, dots, spam fear, drain life ezpz. The only reason you lose on these servers is because people take advantage of all the trinkets and engineering items available. So it’s kinda difficult vs certain people, it won’t be like that in classic release atleast not for a couple months
good reading on what to kill and what to kick... horrendous pet control though.... watching your felhunter sit next to you when he could be pushing back casters was painful to watch....
So aggressive bro and not thinking at all about sustaining: CC > max distance > lead with burst and as it lands begin drain life until you get interrupted then swap out. That's the ideal combo IMO.
you often immolate conflag way too early ! Let the immolate tick a few times and get a corruption up if you're not going to seduce Versus the rogue at 0:57 for example, the duel would of been over if you hadn't conflaged right away or put a corruption up
@@Jacob0481 if he didnt conflag he would of put corruption on so the rogue would not have been able to range anyways. He's also full life so theres very minimal risk of the rogue downing him before he can cast conflag + shadow burn after a few ticks
@@shoeby9273 yeah and not just pallies, with shadow reflector and skull basically all classes can two shot succubus when geared. Succubus is only good if your opponent isnt ready for it or if he doesnt have cooldowns up.

100% using this next time! I just figured curse of agony was good for damage. Normally I curse of tounges pallys, but they don't cast much in duels.

i think its called spell lock. devour is where they eat the buffs.

It's a pet target macro. Either the pet targets me or targets the enemy. 2 different macros but same icon.

What addon do you use to track the time of your DoT's?
I tried that server. The only issue I had was rolling a shammy and you don't get your totems. Maybe I missed something?
u purchase the totems off one of the vendors bro, took me a while also- think it's the misc vendor though I can't remember precisely.
I think the biggest challenge for me is to know when and when not to curse of elements. Or just what curses to use in the right situations in general.

1) Does more Dps pve
2) have more burst dmg
3) have fat/ big crits?

How do you fair against UD rogues? That's the ultimate challenge I think.
Your only chance vs an equally geared/skilled UD rogue is to roll with Soul Link.

@James Knight It actually doesn't. Soul Link is not as strong as people remember. First of all, the Succubus pet is extremely squishy. If you run with Succy, it will be killed while you sit in a blind. It will die in a few seconds against a rogues burst.
Second if you decide to run voidwalker, the barriers help a bit. However they do not make up the difference of having a way to deal with a rogues opener. Two 2.3k barriers is not going to make you last long enough against a skilled rogue with every cooldown at disposal. Rogues have arguably highest burst in the game. To put it in perspective, without Soul Link (I don't run a soul link build in duels) my health is at 60% by the time my Succubus is able to cast the first seduce on a rogues opener. So in the time it takes for succubus to cast a 1.5-2 second (I forget) cast seduce, a rogues opener deals 40% of my life.
Third, if you are playing Soul Link + voidwalker, by sacrificing your VW you are losing your Soul Link buff. It is actually insane how fast a pet can die just due to the soul link damage alone if you decide to leave it up until after the rogues opener.
While VW might seem like a better choice, it really just delays the inevitable loss. Succubus on other hand allows you to beat rogues who are not running PvP Trinket + Shadow Reflector (if a rogue uses both of those, it is impossible to beat him). The Soul Link buff is greatly misremembered. Rogues damage shreds through your life bar twice over within the span of two openers.
Visoth sure, a skilled rogue beats most opponents to be honest. It’s the hard counter for warlocks, but that’s skilled rogues.
Most rogues are kids running around having a go, lucky enough. I’m going alliance, though it’s a bit gimped as a warlock, but because of the lesser numbers I should get up there with the gear.
My main was a rogue in Vanilla, I don’t remember having difficulty with warlocks. Warriors were the worst from my experience.
@@zepho100 A good warrior can be scary. They have burst that can get close to rogue burst. I was crit 2.4k MS followed by a 1k auto attack in a split second.
But the way to confidently beat a warrior as warlock is to succubus spam him with Soulfire/shadowbolts. My opener is always Seduce -> Curse of Shadows -> Soulfire -> immediate death coil -> Immolate -> start casting seduce -> conflag to break immolate dot -> shadowbolt -> shadowburn.
This works on the average warrior who is not using shadow reflect. If a warrior is smart, and a warlock is dumb, the warrior would charge in and fear the succubus away. That's why I always leave succubus ~20m away when starting a fight.

Could you do a duels video on hunter please? I'm trying to choose between playing lock and hunter for PvP, so it'd be good to see what kind of outplay potential hunter has too
Borus101 hunter is amazing for world pvp but is countered by a lot of classes, it’s basically the annoying class that stays at long range viper stinging all the casters. Warlock is a 1v1 god and is top tier in BGs. Your also very unlikely to find a raiding spot as a hunter unless your in a decent guild.

I basically want a class that I can outplay people with.Like a really high skillcap so I can no-life the game and get really good. I heard Warlock doesn't do well at all against things like warrior but haven't heard much about hunter. I used to play Mage so don't really want that again, and Warrior seems hard to level and gear up
Borus101 to be honest hunter has the highest skill ceiling in the game but you’ll be constantly tunnelled by most classes because of viper sting rotation, you basically will die a lot in WSG and AB but you will completely dominate in AV

Borus101 destruction is pretty skilled tbh affliction is very simple and easy, dots, spam fear, drain life ezpz. The only reason you lose on these servers is because people take advantage of all the trinkets and engineering items available. So it’s kinda difficult vs certain people, it won’t be like that in classic release atleast not for a couple months

So aggressive bro and not thinking at all about sustaining: CC > max distance > lead with burst and as it lands begin drain life until you get interrupted then swap out. That's the ideal combo IMO.

you often immolate conflag way too early ! Let the immolate tick a few times and get a corruption up if you're not going to seduce
Versus the rogue at 0:57 for example, the duel would of been over if you hadn't conflaged right away or put a corruption up
@@Jacob0481 if he didnt conflag he would of put corruption on so the rogue would not have been able to range anyways. He's also full life so theres very minimal risk of the rogue downing him before he can cast conflag + shadow burn after a few ticks

@@shoeby9273 yeah and not just pallies, with shadow reflector and skull basically all classes can two shot succubus when geared. Succubus is only good if your opponent isnt ready for it or if he doesnt have cooldowns up.
