without a center point every time you smack down or even touch the ice the edge of your blades are making contact first, dulling them bending them etc. always touch the augers without a center point down to the ice as lightly as you can to prolong the blades cutting at peak performance. kills me to see you use it like a walking stick and slamming it before you drill, but it your shit and you can beat it how you like. :) love your videos can't wait for the rest of the season tight lines!
@@mainetroutwhisperer I've got the Climate in red; thought about replacing my Cabela's Guidewear bibs though they've only been fished a dozen times or so and already leaking on the knees. How have the bibs held out the water?
I make a point to emphasize this because if I don’t, I get 100 questions about why they look like they got hit by a lawnmower, or people staying “srubbers”,etc. lol. I’m not trying to hide the fact we are fishing for stocked fish. If it wasn’t for stocked fish we have hardly any yep it to fish for in central and southern Maine lol. We do have plenary of wild and native fisheries, but this was not one of them lol
😃 always a great day! 1st ice!

Wow, still not even close down here on Sebago
This was before the rain. Probably not that safe anymore
ahh, that makes more sense. Love the channel - keep showing folks our great state! @@mainetroutwhisperer
What area is this?
Central Maine. After the rain we had, it’s probably not that safe.
Funny how many Mainers make a point of whether or not brookies are stocked. They wouldn’t be there if they weren’t stocked.
