I have completed my pg ( bio chemistry) on 2020... I am planning for bio informatica in usa .. pls guide me the process for study and job search in usa
Hey, After my MSc in bioinformatics in US can I remotely work from India with good companies in US? If yes then what can I be besides bioinformatics analyst
Thanks for pointing that out - UC SD only has an undergraduate and PhD Program. It is however one of the best places to study Computational Biology for its very interdisciplinary research focus.
MS Health Informatics has a narrow focus- you're prepared for jobs in the healthcare industry while Bioinformatics has a much wider focus across various industries- Pharma, BioMed, Health care etc. Based on which industry you want to get into, you can choose between the options. If you need help with application process, do get in touch with us - +918125322444
Yes a Master's degree will help in finding a job. But direct H1B application is a very long and uncertain path (unless you already know someone who'll sponsor your application). I recommend the student visa path.
I am from Kerala. I recently completed my bachelor's in Biotechnology. As i wanted to take my masters in bioinformatics and computational biology in abroad . Since i come from a middle class family.... Which country is apt for my higher studies..is it us , germany or ireland....after completing the masters in bioinformatics is there any job opportunities.
For Bioinformatics/Comp Bio I personally suggest US as this is the biggest Biotech market in the world. You can find cheaper options with good ROI here as well. For further guidance= +918125322444
Hello, I am exploring my options to pursue master's in bioinformatics. But the amount of investment it asks is way to high. I need proper guidance. I would be greatfull to you if you could help.
Hey Mithlesh, there are many low cost good quality universities where you can pursue this degree at 30 Lakhs or below cost. Luckily, since this is not a very competitive field, you can get Assistantship roles in your department- which will further reduce your cost. We have helped many students apply to these programs over the last few intakes. You can get in touch with us here- +918125322444
Maths (Calculus, Prob Stats etc) + Few Bio & Chemistry subjects + Programming Basics. However remember, Pre-Reqs change from university to University. Some might require additional pre-reqs and some are more lenient.
Thank you for making this video. This is so helpful. I’m a student pursing my masters in bioinformatics and computational biology in USA. I’m wondering what kind of job roles can I apply for? Can you please make a video on job roles and name of some companies through which we can apply for! Please and thank you.
You can find job roles examples in this particular link- drexel.edu/biomed/academics/graduate-programs/bioinformatics-master-of-science-degree/careers/ You can apply to many Biopharmaceutical and Biotechnology companies such as Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, AbbVie, Bristol-Myers Squibb etc. Best places to find these jobs are either on Company websites or LinkedIn and Indeed. Hope this helps. You can also start networking with people on LinkedIn - those who are working I roles/companies that you're targeting. Have you spoken with your program Alums? If not, get in touch with them and find out if there are any vacancies.
@@DrRajusConsultancy thank you so for spending your valuable time to make an reply for the message. The information you provided is much much useful. I appreciate that.

Thank you very much for this informative video Dr. Raju. I have something to clarify. I did my BSc (Hons) in Microbiology and planning to apply for a PhD in Microbiology or Biological Sciences. If I get research experiences related to Bioinformatics during the PhD period, will I get an opportunity to work in Bioinformatics industry in the future?
Absolutely. Exploring and applying computational techniques in your research will give you skills required for a career in the Bioinformatics field. All the best!
I have done B Tech(Biotechnology) from NIT and presently working as senior analyst. I want pursue MS Bioinformatics or MS Data science. Which country is the best considering my family back ground of lower middle class?
I would say either USA or Canada. US has decent job opportunities opening up in this field and there are good public universities that can cost you around $30,000 Tuition fee. If you're able to secure TA/RA ship based on your academic performance after first semester- that cost can come down even further to less than 15Lakhs overall. You can sponsor most of your education through loans and start paying back after you secure a job. Canada is a good low cost option but jobs aren't as abundant as US. Hope this helps! In case you need guidance do get in touch - +918125322444
I am a parent from Kerala, India. My query is regarding affordable universities for middle class students from India for doing MS in Biomedical Eng. Is California the best option for these courses and is Texas or Florida a better option? Apart from IELTS or TOEFL, GRE, etc..what are the other requirements for applying to these universities? Thanks in advance.
Hi. California is a better option compared to Florida or Texas, because it is one of the biggest Bio-Pharma clusters in the US, with the highest number of companies and jobs in the Bio-medical field. The other decently sized Bio-Pharma clusters are Massachusetts (around Boston), Virginia-Maryland-Washington (Bio-Health Capital Region), North Carolina (Raleigh Research Triangle), Chicago, Newyork-Newjersey, etc. All these regions are on the higher side of living expenses, but the Return on Investment will be great, compensating for what you have spent. To offset living expenses, choosing colleges in the sub-urban areas of these regions and less famous universities with high chances for funding is advisable. Hope this helps. In case you need help with university shortlisting and rest of the process, do get in touch- +918125322444
For a middle class student from India, if you take California state, is CSU Long Beach, SJSU or Cal Poly San Luis Obispo a better option for Ms Biomedical?@@DrRajusConsultancy
There are very few Unis offering MSc Bioinformatics in Ireland. Can a person with Bachelor’s in physiotherapy pursue bioinformatics as I am not willing to continue further in the same field rather I want to pursue Master in bioinformatics in USA 🇺🇸 So do we need to complete pre requisite courses?
You'll have to complete pre-requisite courses and the number of Pre Req courses you must pursue will be determined by the University you're applying to. We have helped students from divergent fields like yours apply to the MSC BioInfo field. If you need help, do get in touch - +918125322444
For Bioinformatics you need some Undergraduate coursework in Mathematics and Programming - so it'll be difficult for MMBS students to get a direct admit. You could look at MS Health Informatics- which is more relevant. For guidance- +918125322444

If you want to make it into top Universities the higher the GPA the better - ideally 8+/10. For middle ranked Unis 7+/10 is also good. Scores wise too its the same, the higher the better. Here are rough figures, IELTS- 6.5 or 7+. GRE- 310 and above (optional). If you need guidance, chat with us - +918125322444
Depends- Usually many graduates without prior experience get job offers with salaries between $80k-$90K. With this minimum salary, you can pay off your education loans comfortably and also have a decent life style. However, as you gain experience- you will be earning 20-50% more , so you can pay off the entire loan within 5 years of graduation- something a lot of students have done. Again, you don't necessarily have to study at expensive universities to get jobs. We've guided students to low cost but decent quality universities where cost of education was below 30 Lakhs. To know more, you can get in touch with us here- +918125322444

However, you will have to pursue a few extra courses during your masters - in Mathematics, or Genetics etc. based on University requirements.
