      I totally agree. I bought mine for my 17th birthday back in '81. Mine had the burgundy gas tank. It also had an electric start.

      This was my first bike too haha. It wasn't as nice as the one in this video, and was back in the early 90's

    That electric start is nice when it stalls half way up a steep hill. Loved my 74. $800 brand new. Rode it little over 5000 miles iirc before I sold it. Bored, ported, jetted with a hooker header opened it up and let it jump out of the hole better. Fun little bike back in the day.

    I put 3500 miles in the dirt on mine. It did have an expansion chamber exhaust, large plastic fuel tank, 21 inch front wheel (speedo gear for larger wheel)l, all knobbies, mirrors clamped on handle bars, small tail light attached to leather holder, claw foot pegs, and damn I wish it had it now. Yamaha made the best off road bikes.

    I have the exact same bike, but i'm having a tough time finding a battery box. Do you think you could tell me what it's supposed to look like so that i can order the right one? Restoring my own rn :)
