One of the few who isn't excited about this deal. I really don't understand this deal. 60+ euro for a young football player with potential who needs a few years to develop. Not to forget he only had 1 year left on his contract. Salary of 140-170k per week which will cause problems with other young players who are getting much less. Good luck with extending contracts of the youngster at the club. This is so bad business. Man United can learn from Real who backed off this deal. They made the smart choice. This money could have gone to an experienced defender but this is just not understandable. Did Man United learn nothing from the Hojlund deal?

Why not? We should stack depth like city. If Varane left and Lindelöf is set to leave, we need two new CB’s. We just got one, so getting De Ligt isn’t too much of an issue. But that only makes sense if we make more sales in other positions too.

The reports that we had 50 mil to spend was probably true, the sales of greenwood and kambwala made that around 80 mil. The Zirkzee deal cost is 12 mil this year and the Yoro deal will cost us around 12-15 mil this year. So we have more than enough to get 3ish players, maybe more with player sales

Talking about information that is out there - but this channel was saying Ten Hag out after a shocking game against Coventry in the FA Cup Semi final - when the information out there showed all last season we had f*ck all options in defense oh and low and behold we had the most goals and shots conceded in the league - what a surprise. If Man UTD played amazing all year and then that result against coventry happened it would have been “wow that was close but we did and we march on”. Nope, Ten Hag out is all plastic fans response to a bad result.
Injuries or not, we played shite for a lot of games last season. A lot of that was Ten Hags stubbornness to stick to his style of play that didn’t work with the players we had.

IF we had Martinez and Varane with LUke Shaw and Dalot/AWB available all year and we played the way we did - I would have been on the ETH Out wagon too - because there is no excuses.
I feel that he could have tweaked the tactics for a more traditional 4-4-2 or something similar that the old donkey players could have played a lot easier than the fluid full press total football that ETH keeps trying to impress on to the players
