Today’s video is the start of the spring maintenance on the farm equipment. I started with the Case IH 685 and also finally fixed the charging issues that the tractor has had for 2 years.
have a small leak on my injection pump on my 386 that started. your a mechanic and don't like to mess with that, so you just made up my mind not to fool with it. haha
Enjoyed the video 👍I put in John Deere cool-gard ( yeah I know wrong color product for a red machine haha 😆 ) for the cooling system mainly because it was designed to prevent porosity on the wet sleeves on the engines and I wanted something reliable for the block to because of the lack of coolant filter on the 574. 🙂
I’m a huge fan of your channel. Keep up the awesome work! What lube do you recommend using on the shifter linkages? Also, what coolant do you recommend? I just recently purchased a Case IH 695. Thank you!
Thanks, I don’t really have a favorite for spraying up the linkage, usually whatever I have at the time. Same with antifreeze, I do buy the premixed stuff though
How's the new job treating you? What did you find for an off-farm job? I told the wife if I had to go back to work because things don't turn out in 2019 I probably go back to Highway work and not building and trades.
What is the hp @ the pto in the 685? I have this tractor I inherited from my Dad. He lost the owners manual so I've been unable to find out. I am thinking about buying a rotary cutter for mowing. Knowing the hp at the pto will be helpful before buying the cutter.
I have a case ih 275 1992 and already replaced the clotch and still I sleeping I ajusted the clotch and everything but still same. Somebody can help me please with that issue 🙏
While I do like your video and your advice, you skip a whole bunch of steps. So far I haven't found the transmission filler plug on the operator's manual or service manual or anywhere else, if there was a video with the whole details of transmission oil and filter change would be greatly appreciated.

Your making me feel bad! I still haven't changed my oil in the trac 😣 gonna have to do it soon

I do yearly service too. Even tho the hours are very low

I've often wondered could you pump out the hy-tran through a length of hydraulic hose?
How do you tell if you need hydronic fluid there are no marks on the dip stick thank you
On mine it has 2 lines on it, a high and low level.

Should be 62hp at the pto.
Where do you fill the hydraulic fluid at?
In the back on top of rear by fuel tank there is a square plug. You unthread it and you have a good sized opening for a funnel
