I had IV sedation 2 days ago, in a surgeon's office, and the last thing I remember is the nurse sticking something in my mouth to hold it open - After that, I don't remember a thing until they woke me up. - I had 10 teeth removed. - A hospital refused to give me IV sedation, and wanted to extract 10 teeth with only local sedation or 2 Ativan pills - I refused and found the surgeon that would give my the IV. - Now home recovering :)
This is surprising, no 3 or 5 lead for ECG monitoring? No Capnography? It seems like the sedative was administered right after the needle was placed, as he mentioned the patient should be feeling different. Perhaps everything is placed and she is monitored after the video is turned off? what if there is an emergency event between the time she has the sedative in her and the time it takes to place all the monitoring devices on?
I have this next week and I can't stop crying because anxiousness 😭 Will my friend be in room with me like this girl with her friend or no please respond urgently
@@leagravedentalsedationclin768 does that apply at other surgeries also ? I'd also please like to know who administers the sedation at a dental sedation surgery ? I have appointment January 6 2022 (next week Please respond urgently, Thank you sincerely

Hello. The intravenous sedation drug can cause amnesia and so patients may not remember the conversations they had or what they said over the phone. We therefore advise patients not to use the phone after a sedation procedure.
@@leagravedentalsedationclin768 How do you deal with people who go in to severe vasovagal syncopy from having a needle stuck in them for the IV BEFORE the sedation has been administered. I also have severe fainting reactions to local anaesthetic, be it injected or put on my skin. In the dental environment, if I'm in full blown syncopy ie severely decreased blood pressure, hyperventilating, profuse sweating, pins and needles, possible weak heart activity, and 80% of the way to passing out, are you still going to pump me full of Midazolam, knowing that injecting local anesthetic in my mouth could make me even worse, regardless of whether the Midazolam puts me properly out, which it's not supposed to do, or are you going cancel the treatment and refer to me hospital for gas general anaesthetic?
She is so brave like me if you don't look at needles it will be faster

Why can’t you use your phone after sedation?

Is sedation safe? Can this be a cure for severe phobia?
Hi Jay. Sedation is a very safe way for dentally anxious patients to have treatment.
