I am late to your video but I’m so thankful I came across it. I ordered a vintage Dooney and Bourke from eBay and it came to me smelling like cigarette smoke or a forest fire. I’m going to try to wash it in the washing machine. I don’t want to give the seller a bad review because perhaps they are a smoker and they didn’t notice how horrible it smells. I have nothing to lose but the $50 I invested in the purse. 😀
Greetings. I am not sure how this process will work with smoke/forest fires. Lol. I normally return all items that has a unforgiving smell as I can’t say I have been very successful removing them. It’s possible to reduce the smell but getting rid of it entirely is a challenge. I will attach a different video that I did about this other product. It worked pretty good.

Intriguing...I’ve often wondered how Florentine would hold up fully submerged. She looks beautiful right out of the wash!! Let us know how she looks once she dries

OK so I put my black Florentine leather bag in the washer on delicate I haven’t use all detergent because that’s all I had and the black dye was on my hand and I took it out of the wash machine. It was so so I had a blowout it with the towel and then I’ll leave it outside for a while to dry..
What did you use to wash it. Some people use a drop of dawn or 2. Good luck!

I put my nylon Erica with leather handles to dry and the Leather Shrank. Stiff.
Really. So. It’s a nylon bag with leather handles. Did you allow it to air dry or did you place in the dryer. I have never had one to shrink before. That is interesting. I will have to look into that.

What leather oil did you use?
Greetings! My apologies for the delay. I will have to take a look to find out what I used. I think it was a leather seal. I will let you know. I use various types of conditioner.
