I could be mistaken but I believe the adaptive screen time out feature is currently on android 14, it just doesn't have an option, so it's always on. If you turn on your pixel screen, place it face down on a desk, the screen will turn off within around 10 to 15 seconds. I think the new setting is just a toggle for that. I don't have the beta to test and confirm though.
I really hope they don’t restrict too many of the AI features only to the Pixel 9, I bought my Pixel 8 so I would have access to more AI features. I hope they don’t just forget about it.
Im liking the new screenshot interface better. It lokks sleaker more mature with the OS imo

I like Samsung screenshots better. It's one thing I really dislike about my Pixel. When I take a screenshot, I just want the screen edges to flash and the phone to vibrate so I know it took. On my Pixel, that popup appears and covers most of the bottom left of the screen. I can't stop it from appearing. I know I took a screenshot. I don't want to edit every screen shot. On Samsung, I can choose if that edit option shows up or not. Also, on Samsung, I had the phone vibrate during a screenshot. Doesn't seem to be an option on my Pixel. It makes an audible noise Everytime AND displays the popup. It makes for a noisy and messy experience everytime. Just take the screenshot, give me some haptic feedback so I know something happened, and that's it. I don't want extra steps every time

It would be nice if they gave us the option to not have that popup appear. Personally, I use the markup app enough that I'm okay with it being there, but I can see how some people would rather it not appear.
@@scaryifliteral I have been a Samsung Knight for almost 15 years. I just can't take their mediocrity anymore with the Fold devices. So I have been using a Pixel 8 Pro for several weeks with the intent to buy a Pixel Fold 2 when It comes out. I want to become familiar with the Pixel experience before I spend so much on a Fold. And sometimes I just can't figure out if the Pixel doesn't have as many features as Samsung, or if I just don't know how to find them or use them. It seems like it's a little bit of both.
Generally, I'm loving the experience so far. My biggest gripe is the Pixel Watch 2. The haptics are so weak that I had to enable sound also, and having to charge every single day really bums me out. Hoping the 3XL watch at LEAST gets 2 full days with AOD
I agree about this coming from Samsung. Also the RUclips player when you go to another app, you could move it around freely on Samsung, but on Google I do not know how many times I have accidently ended the youtube player thanks to that X icon in the middle bottom. so bad
@@AndrewTSq yeah, I've done that many times as well. I also spent an hour trying to figure out how to remove a shadow from a photo. After an hour, I discovered the Pixel just can't do it. It's a simple button on Samsung, but Pixel phones are unable. I take a lot of pictures of documents too. So it was really useful.
