- Skiing Telluride, Colorado from the top of the Revelation lift, elevation 12,570', to the bottom of the Gondola, elevation 8,750', via See Forever and Milk Run. 3,820 vertical feet of spectacular views.
Man, the views in, of, and from the Colorado Rockies just never get old. It doesn’t matter where you are, or how often you’ve been. That’s God’s country! 😍
🎼 Rocky Mountain High...
(thanks, JD 😉)
having been skiing for close to 4 years, I always comeback to telluride because of the great views and smooth and gliding runs that aren't that steep.
Lived in Telluride for about 8 years... this is so nice to see...I know all these slopes and I felt like I was skiing them again...thanks for sharing...Telluride is an amazing place!
This looks like Park City skiing, only in a nicer setting. A paradise for an intermediate skier that wants to take it easy for long runs
@@jondstewart Not even close! It's CO not UT for one and Telluride has way steeper terrain!
Amazing vid. It doesn't get any better than the part of your run starting at 5:30... wide, groomed, semi-steep and empty with great views. Thanks for letting us stuck in an office on the east coast daydream.
The last time I skied in Telluride was in 1987, when I was 24. The lift you rode up and the Gold Hill lift didn't exist yet. You walked up that much narrower cat track, that is now a much wider lane, in hopes of find untracked snow. After you passed the upper gondola building, the run you took to town was a solid bump run. It was weird seeing it groomed. None of the runs to town were groomed. Only the cat tracks and the two runs that went to the base of the village were groom. I've been to Telluride 3 times since, all in the summer. So I know how much it has grown. In spite of those summer trips, it still amazes me how much the ski area has changed since 1987.
you're right -- I'm not sure you could find a ski area and town that has changed more dramatically in that time.
Great video. I've skied that same line down the mountain to town and he boogied. Back in
Feb to Telluride. I've been going for 18 years and it's the best part of my year.
I just wanted you to know Andy, your video was a major part in my decision to go to Telluride. I am a regular at Vail, but wanted to try something new. I was also bringing some intermediate skiers with me from Atlanta, and wanted them to be able to enjoy some views, too. This run is perfect for double green, to blue skiers, despite the altitude and surrounding double black extreme runs!!
This video does a great job of showing the beauty of Telluride, but doesn't come close to representing it as a whole! This is the most beautiful place I have ever been- I went for a week, but stayed longer. The one bowl represented in this video, is just that- one bowl. The views throughout the resort are stunning. There are more types of terrain here, and more extreme terrain, than anywhere I have been. Great for all types of skiers.
I will continue to go back again, and again. Thank you Andy!
Amazing. Thanks, for posting!
Tony, glad you got to see it--and ski it--for yourself! You're right, Telluride is much better in person. :)
+Andy Lewicky I've never been to Telluride, but I must tell you now after watching this video - I'm gonna ski this mountain soon!! Love it.
Tony Dorsett that's awesome I live up at the top it's called the ridge run lot 12 baby
telluride is awesome i rode all the lifts besides lift 15 its great
Hey Andy, thank you for making this among other incredibly inspiring videos. I've been skiing Telluride for 20+ years now but have only been up a few times in the past 10 years. My pals and I are heading back up again this March and this exhilarating video so reminds me of how much I love this place; the skiing, the vibe, the people . . . everything about it. I've done this run so many times but not nearly as fast and agile as you . . . keep up the good work and I'll be watching all of the rest of them.
Best Skiing in the world. Went for the winter and stayed for the summer, which is just as beautiful.
I love this place. This is basically another location i grew up in. And im super excited because im going for christmas this year. I STRONGLY recommend you go. This place is STUNNING
Pat Gar I agree.
If you're ever in Telluride stay in Mountain Lodge! Stayed there for ten years and finally bought a house there in 2013. Amazing location between the runs Double Cabin and Village Bypass, and the people there are amazing! Just a 5 minute walk into Mountain Village and there's a complimentary shuttle! Love Telluride and can't wait to be there this Christmas.
Thanks for the clip! I worked in the mine there at night, and ski'd during the day :)
Very cool run would love to see telluride someday!
Thanks for that. I've not been to Telluride in winter for about 8 years and haven't been able to ski for the last two due to shoulder surgeries. Planning a Bucket-list trip this year. Have my season pass and a nice place to stay for 30 days. Now just hoping for a great snow year. This video helps stoke the fire!!
just went to telluride this christmas, best skiing i have ever done in my life ,in 5 days we got 35 inches of snow, just in the town
It was awesome!
Thank you for uploading this. I lived on Mt. Hood, OR for about a year, and worked at Timberline Lodge (Where the exterior shots of The Shining were filmed). Anyway, this reminds me of how much I love and miss skiing !! Thank You!!
What a ride and amazing views
I am addicted to this video! Thank you for an inspiring post.
You are good skier. Thanks for sharing this wonderful run and such a beautiful day.
Amazing! Stunning
I moved to Pagosa Springs Dec. ‘17. I’ve returned to skiing at age 61, after a 40-yr break, and came back as a strong intermediate... I love Wolf Ski Resort, buy my hubby gifted me a week in Telluride and baby, I can’t wait ...
Dolts like the woman at 2:09 standing directly in a trail merge drive me insane. Tight trail too. Great video!
i agree! horrible place to stop.
Last time I was there was no such lift, however it was the first year they had Palmyra Peak open to inbounds hikers, I was pleasantly surprised, they had record snowfall that year, I imagine it can be sparse without ample snow in the area I was riding... Thanks for sharing...
That's the start of "see forever" at 1:15, I'm currently planning a trip to Telluride for Christmas 2020 purely because of the scenery of that run.
The skiing's not too bad, either. :)
@@AndyLewicky that's also a major plus lol
Andy these are great videos...love Telluride and you have captured the essence of the area...keep up the good work!
The catwalks at the top must have been cut before the invention of the snowboard.😂
But those views are spectacular.❄❄👍👍Someday I hope.
Ha Ha yea. . .if you lose your speed on a board in that section you end up walking or hopping 100 yards or so. If you know its coming up, you can dive in and make it through.
That would be a worthy top-to-bottom indeed!
awesome video!I felt it was me!!Tks for the virtual adventure!
We're sold. Time to plan a road trip. Killer turns too Andy!
Wow, Excellent run, didn't realize it was that long. Well done!!
that's some pretty extreme catwalk riding!
+Greg L LOL exactly my thinking. Get out you gaper.
LMAO Gayper City. You gotta be old school to know what a Gayper is ???
That was beautiful. Thanks a lot.
This is Awesome! thanks for posting
See Forever... gah I miss that run. Great views.
Best skiing place in the entire world.
I've lost count how many times I've skied Teluride over the last 2 decades and I can honestly say... I've never ran down Milk Run.
SternLX well that’s just crazy. I was planning not doing it on the week that I’ve been here but it’s closed. I haven’t even been skiing here for a decade! 8 years I’ve been skiing in telluride.
Awesome! I must ski this run!😎😎😎
Great ride. Thanks!
I'm going back for my Spring Break in March. I cannot wait!!
Even thought you took the easiest way down possible. You did it pretty quickly and it's still a good video.
Going there next week and can't wait!
I can Tell u ride! nice run man.
I miss Colorado... My home away from home
Great vid!! The perfect wind-down last-run on the way to a drink at (insert your favorite T-ride bar here)...;-)
Very nice runs, greetings from London.
i skied from chair 14 to mountain village next year i am doing chair 15 to mountain village then i will practice the runs down from st. sophia (milk run) down to the bottom of the gondola then last but not least, chair 15 to the bottom of the gondola. just like what you did in this video
Yeah imagine this,
@ 0:38 seconds this guy is just getting off of the lift, and @ 1:16 he's looking back at the lift that he just got off of.
Quite a distance.
Now you just need to put in an alpine coaster that's 12,570 feet long and you've got it made.
Wow! Just incredible!!
Nice cruise. Beautiful uncrowded day.
Bucket List
this is one bad ass video!!!
Great video.
TELLURIDE IS AWESOME!!!
amazing video!!
I'm looking at this thinking, "Man 4,000' in just 10 minutes. That doesn't seem like a long run." And then I remember with my experience level on a snowboard that same trail would take me 45min to an hr. (I've only been on a handful of ski trips and the last one was 11 years ago)
I do have a dream of making a top-to-bottom video at every ski area in the US, so stay tuned!
lol! I'm not a skier and my stomach totally tightened up in knots watching this! What a view though. I wonder if they let people ride up and back down without getting off, just to take pictures.....
+Rosemary Clark especially that turn at 842!
to all of yall i have skied telluride my entire life its the best place to ski anywhere i can ski all the runs including the double black EX and im only 13
Ryan Prince now your 20 and hopefully less ostentatious and Braggy.
We'll be there in February 2012! Really looking forward to it!
"Catwalk tour"
Right? Ew.
I like that part when you were skiing down the mountain...
What a beautiful day!! You forgot to blaze up in the trees before skied the cat track to the bottom though!
Glad to be living here
simply amazing.
Wow its so high up!
Nice Andy!
excellent video. much prefer this type to the cutting in and out of shots that is usually done admittedly getting the right day for this type of filming is harder.
I'm going to Telluride this January and I'm so excited...it's going to be my first time out west and I've only heard great thing about the resort.
Telluride is an advanced mountain for a beginner like you.
I've skied for 13 years, I'm not a beginner.
That’s some right turn at about 835 time. Lol. Nice!
The never ending run
Valrie Eisemann see foreverrrrrrrr
andy: nice video....beautiful scenery and nice skiing. how was the leg burn?
I like your comments and opinions on skis too!
Also for people who live in Texas and other places like that and love riding but the drive to Telluride is to long I really suggest Taos ski valley New Mexico. It's beautiful with easy or advanced train and this ski season of 2014 they have added a lift to there twelve thousand foot kachina peak
Yes...TEXANS should not/should stay out of CO...as they have ruined everything that was
good about it. Except for telluride of course.
@@POW862 they've ruined Telluride aswell :(
@@POW862 How can Texans ruin Telluride? We don't live there or vote there. We buy a vacation home/condo and drop a lot of money there, contributing to the Telluride economy. Prejudice much?
Looks like a pretty tame mountain. You should try Snowbird
most of this video was catwalks, trust me Telluride is a tough mountain
wow thanks. i felt like i just went skiing without lifting a finger.
Wow AWESOME
Smooth and awesome. ;-)
Oh, wow. I'd love to visit Telluride. This person's legs must have been killing him/her at the end.
Could you tell me which run this is from start to finish? I have a map of Telluride on my IPhone.
From the top of the Revelation lift, this is See Forever to Milk Run to Telluride Trail
Andy Lewicky Sorry for the late response. I do appreciate that heads up! This place looks perfect for a blue runner that likes to have space to move around and not have to schuss because it's too narrow or steep. I love Alyeska, but most of their runs on the upper levels are borderline daredevil, even the blue ones.
amazing!
that was fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good video I always ski here I'm blue and double blue. I'm even here right now!!!!!!
Edit: now I am working on some blacks.
Hey bro, Telluride is hard, but it ain't the only ass kicking hard place out there.
Wow telluride and the beginner runs! At least you could have looked over the sides of the runs to show blue or black terrain to show what you are paying $100 per ticket for!!
I love telluride I have a condo at telluride lodge I miss it
Ashlyn Dighans I do to!
Amazing
looking to work at either, vail, aspen or telluride during weekends, ski during the week, and play drums some night...I hear Tell the town is better than vail
Tim Andrew, it definitely is. Not too big, not to short. 15 chairlifts. 2 free gondolas. I think 2-3 magic carpets, 148 trails, and many more activities winter and summer! Really beautiful place,
Well I’m 13 and I’ve been to park city, steamboat and Jackson hole but I was young when I was in Jackson hole going here for Christmas and skiing is life to me but I can only go one week a year any good?
Telluride looks mega, will definitely be looking at going next year. Is it a big mountain? How many days skiing would people recommend???
Pretty big mountain, I snowboarded there for 6 days and could have stayed longer, the mountain is so big the longer you stay the more you have fun.
I stayed for 4 days and was up early and skied until i couldn't ski any more.
It's only from see forever down to town there are many runs.
Been there done that. December 2015- January-2016
and this coming from a2yearold!!!! lol Nice name dude.
AWESOME!!
LOOK AT ALL THAT POW HE'S PASSING UP! WTF!?
This should be called....Telluride top to bottom...IF YOU'RE A TEXAN.
three herb stores in town now.
Nice!
God, I haven't been skiing in years and after watching a few videos a crave to go again, however, I have a really difficult decission to make - Go to Chicago and see a Bears home game and see Chicago or go to Colarado and go skiing. So stumped. Any advice?
I lived in both Colorado and Chicago, you have a tough choice, but in the end I would prefer the slopes (that's just me though). It depends on how much you love skiing vs how much you love the Bears and the city life. If your going to Chicago for a game alone I'd say just wait another year. There is always a chance for a dual vacation to for a week (Do both for a few days) but that's an expensive option. In the end how much do you love skiing vs a new experience go to Chicago though if you're not just coming for a game lots to do here.
Thats some great skiiing. I just started this year (42 yr old) and cant imagine ever being that good. How long have you been skiing for and how often?
Hes not that good. Im a decent amount better than him and i could barely do a blue last year. Now i can do double blacks. All you have to do is ride consistently
I love skiing telluride but I am wondering if anyone knows what winter park is like or powderhorn really anywhere else xD
I've heard from a friend winter park is outstanding. I dont know about the other one though.
Been there, done that. AWESOME!
But not a good slope for snowboarders.
Manseung Ha true. I don’t snowboard but, TRUE!
The vertical in the US isn't that great is it, many alpine resorts have well over 1000 m (3280 ft).
In colorado every resort is above 6000 to 7000 ft.
