Really enjoy your videos,i have a bike identical to yours, same age and colour with 10,000 miles on the clock here in Wales UK. I have had numerous bikes, and this is the best i have had,it is ideal for me, as i will be 70 years old next birthday! Keep up the videos, best wishes Kevin

only 70 Kevin? I wish I was going to be 70 again.
I agree with you. I have a feeling this is going to be one of those motorcycles that is good for everything from city to twisties to coast to coast… that’s the way my two Honda pacific coast motorcycles were, they could do everything. My first one got totaled from behind while stopped at a stop sign with me on it. I replaced it immediately with another pacific coast which I commuted on for 24 years without a single issue. Not even a burned out turn signal bulb…. and they only had 48 hp. This machine has a claimed 71 hp. It does feel like it has a little more zip, but I’m not really interested in zip anymore as much as I am interested in long distance, comfort and practicality and weather protection, and store Storage capacity.. these machines seem to check all the boxes..
I was considering riding this machine to Daytona this year, which is about 1100 miles south of here in Western Pennsylvania, but since I had that fueling problem with the crap in the gas tank, plugging the fuel filters, I have not had chances to make sure the machine could do a ride like that reliably yet..I have not been out on this machine here in 2024 yet and today’s date is already March 2..
maybe I will ride it to the Myrtle Beach bike week. A buddy of mine relocated to Myrtle Beach a few years ago, he and I have hundreds of thousands of Miles riding together.
I just bought a new video camera with image stabilization and remote control from a wristband controller. So I’m looking forward to cranking out some videos of this machine because I Want to find out for myself just how competent these machines are according to the UK riders and European riders, whose opinions impressed me which Influenced me me to buy this machine in the first place..
i’m ready to go find out what this machine is like, but my weather is not cooperating. Of course, it is early, it is still winter.
I would like to hear any experiences you might be able to tell me on things I should know about your experience with the same machine I have.
      Thanks, Kevin

Cool bike. Thanx for the vid!
Never saw that model before.... Kinda looks like a newer facelifted version of my Honda Pacific Coast PC 800... -It just has side access sideboxes instead of top opening trunklid! :D And both of them have driveshafts and similar looking dashpanels I see.
If it rides half as good as my old PC800 it must be good! :)

that’s what I thought, that it was a upgrade from a pacific coast with fuel injection and a real gas tank. This model supposedly has 71 hp. My pacific coasts had 48 hp, which was plenty. I had 2 Pacific coasts.. A 1990 that got totaled while I was waiting at a stop sign for my turn to go. I got hit from behind while waiting, the most profitable paid nine month vacation of my life. I had one of those back off flashing brake tail light modules, which I believe caused that accident. Because while I was coming to on the ground as the police were there, I heard the guy that ran into me, saying “I saw his tail light flashing, so I thought he was pulling out.”
I replaced that totaled PC with another one, a 1994 model that I was able to find with very low miles. I think it was like 4000 miles which I commuted on for the next 24 years. I upgraded the. shocks to konis, tall windshield, and the best seat I ever had on any motorcycle, the four piece Corbin shaped like a horse saddle. I could do 400 mile days on that seat without needing to go to a chiropractor..
when I got this bike in November 2023 from the original owner, I also got the optional color matched top box and rack which I removed for now, they are color matched and the top box bottle to full face helmets, which my PC 800 would not hold a helmet..
I am positive that the Honda pacific coast is the best all around motorcycle in the entire history of the universe. It only has two minor issues. Tire selection is limited to just two manufacturers that make tires for the Pacific coast. Insects, Dunlop, and Metzler… and the battery is a bit of a pain to get in and out when it’s time for a new one..
The rear break, which is drum with brake shoes, I loved. There’s no need for a disc in the rear on the most motorcycles. You can improve the breaking to reduce the wheel lock up when you coming to bump stops, putting a bend in the middle of the rod, about 30°. that gives the brake pedal some feel.. I never had to replace the brake shoes on the Pacific coast after riding it for 24 years back-and-forth to work usually six days a week, Saturdays were optional, half days, for 24 years, seven months a year, I even rode that bike to work if it wasn’t raining very hard on my 13 mile one way back road ride to work which took 35 minutes.. it was the best part of my day every day I day i rode..
The seat on this Honda NT 700 is the stock sheet, and I only have about 200 miles on the machine since I bought it, but the seat is wonderful. I was able to move the handlebars back, which was not really very easy to do on the Pacific coast if you wanted to do that, which I didn’t, because of the handlebar plastic covering on the Pacific coast…
it is in T 700 did not come with a tool kit when they came to the United States. They are one spark plug for cylinder instead of two like the PC, but you still need a very special swivel socket to get the 16 mm spark plug out, which they do sell on eBay for around $15. I had to make up a tool kit. This NT 700 does not have self adjusting valves like the Pacific coast, but they are threaded locknuts on rockers like all my moto guzzis had..
I will be posting my thoughts and videos on RUclips giving my opinion about this machine even though it’s a 1990. The UK riders and European riders have a very high opinion of this machine. That is why I bought this bike because of their videos on RUclips. Those limeys certainly know which end is up..

@@Jodyrides Lol. How fun you also used to have PCs. :D
Sounds like your new bike is cool too. the fuel injection is a nice thing! Does it have 5 or 6 gears? -I sometimes miss a 6th gear on the PC for the longer highway drives. Not that it has any problems, I just feel like I am torturing the revs! :D
My only other annoyance with the PC is that I can't get a hold of that nice rare Wong Wing spoiler I desperately want! LOL
-Funny enough I am European btw, so I agree on Hondas (and Suzukis) being good bikes! :D

I am looking up my history of purchase for the exact item number of my handlebar risers for you

    • @Jodyrides
      @Jodyrides  6 месяцев назад

I bought them from eBay seller
      Autoseller zhou
that is the sellers name on the eBay. I paid $31 for them new
The title for the ad was
1 pair handlebar risers black aluminum for motorcycle 7/8 inch 22 mm
that entire sentence was the title of the ad on ebay
The risers are about an inch higher, and they move the handlebars back about an inch. And I did not have to buy a new clutch cable Or throttle cables or brake hose, and all of the electrical wires from both handlebar control switches are plenty long enough. Not even close to being too short.

@@Jodyrides thank you so much for the reply
There is not much play on mine the brake or the clutch cable.
I will try to loose them from the mounts
Just thinking outloud on yours maybe the previous owner did change them since you mentioned there were helis installed when you got it or I misunderstood.
I did find couple forums on the web guys talking about replacing them with st1300 ones but since it is such a rear bike mostly riden in Europe it's hard to rely on couple of forums

those bar risers that were on my machine when I bought this machine were HELI brand.. it was one solid heavy block of aluminum that must have been carved out on a CNC machine.. it looks like they raise the bars about 4 inches. I may put that item back on the machine in spite of the weight to bring the bars up and back just a bit more than my riser/setbacks do..
One other item I am going to try on this machine I’ll do a report on it. Honda GL 1800 Goldwing foot pegs. The Goldwing foot pegs appear to be wider front to back..
      I’ll keep you posted
