That swaying is called 'weaving' and is a stable vice in horses. He probably spends a lot of time, when he is stabled, 'swaying', i.e. weaving. It is usually a sign of stress and boredom. Horses that are out in fields don't do it. Unfortunately, I doubt, in the middle of London, he gets any field time.
How gently he communicated he was unwell. Such beautiful noble gentle creatures and the synchronisity between the soldiers and their horses is so very moving to see. I pray Arnie is doing okay and makes a full recovery, they contend with so much off of the public whilst on duty. 💂🐴😇💝💖💗💓💞💕💌💟🙏
The Guard got pushed away by the Soldier I’m confused he was only caring for why did the soldier push him was it because he was on duty as a Guard. Can someone explain.

...yes when they was send to the horsebutcher they got all the help and care they can get for money...dream on...they are not more to the army then equipment, if it's broken...it will be replaced...
@@SeeYouInValhalla615 they don't send them to the horse butcher as you put it when they get an injury that stops them doing army duties they retire them off to a stud farm where they can live happily, and the only time they'll put an horse down is if they get an incurable illness or break a leg or some injury that compromises their quality of life even then its got to be very serious before they consider that and they'll try medication first and only put down as a last resort

Great decision by the soldier who measured his respiratory rate by holding his hand against the abdomen..."You are going back to stables my old beauty!". Hope the horse is feeling better because he will be getting the best of care.

The best Veterinary care , Their Stables are first class , they are taken care of 24 / 7 and most of All they are Love and treated with respect by their Guards. They don’t stand there for hours their shift is one hour at a time , they have more than four horses on duty in a Day. The Kings Guard Royal Horse Artillery consists of 112 horses. So come back and comment when you have facts.
Just a little note from across the ocean , even I know that those horses have weeks spent on the home farm, running n living free. Research is so easy now a days! Have to say tho I am not surprised by ignorance people here have not a clue as to capital of the USA is. These magnificent horses have to endure so much from tourists. Constant photos, trying to touch the horse all the time and constant chatter and business from the crowds. Bless him. I hope he recovers quickly. ❤

@@silkie8511Weaving is usually a sign of extreme anxiety. Tho, a gut issue would certainly cause anxiety. He did seem to be swinging his head back more than usual, (more the sign for gut issues when they aren’t rolling.)
Happy to see the horses cared for in timely mannor. Arnie wasn't feeling well at all & let his rider and watch sgt. know it. Glad they called other to check and bring him in.

I hope by now the vet has done some vital tests, and taken his temperature. Those horses put up with so much, and fast notice of them unwell is so important. Living in London would make lots of people and horses sick and tired of all the stress. Arnie get well soon.
Actually, that’s not how bits work. The bit sits in a space between the incisors and the molars, shouldn’t hit the molars, and these horses are handled with soft hands. But! Bits can hurt their soft palette and lip corners if it’s not fitted to the particular horse’s mouth. They can also develop sharp edges on their molars that can cut into their gums. I’m positive these guys get regular dental care.
It is upsetting to see the poor horse so stressed for whatever reason, but what upsets me is not one of those tourists picked up on it. As long as they get the picture the world could end but as long as they get the pictures with a horse
I think its because the common person knows nothing about horse behavior. They dont know he is weaving. Or that a horse should not be doing that. They only know cats + dogs (and many poorly at that!)

The queen had good taste when it came to the horses. I hate to see what the tourist do by crowding them and the guards 💂♀️ maybe someone will put up barriers, maybe have one horse and guard so they can get a picture, and it needs to be only a few hours every day but in the videos I have never seen so many people that is unreal

The soldier in camouflage checked the horse’s breathing and gut condition. They moved the horse quickly. Perhaps a bit of colic. I am sure the horse gets top care.

Growing up with horses I can see Arnie was getting very anxious. He was doing what we called stall weaving

The soldier in camouflage checked the horse’s breathing and gut condition. They moved the horse quickly. Perhaps a bit of colic. I am sure the horse gets top care.
