Not even close to being underrated lol. They're one of the best bands on Sharptone (saying quite a bit with what is a very strong roster) and in Metalcore as a whole.
It's pretty rare to see a closed handed picking technique at least in my experience amazing playing none the less, would love to see into despair or shattered as a playthrough!
Robert Baldwin I would love to know how to play with a close hand technique, i think it will benefit me alot more! Chris is really on point with his playing
A lot of guitarists, myself included, will play closed-handed to prevent anchoring with the pinky or the side of the hand. It's a bad habit for technique. Most of us are still guilty of it though
Tried playing the intro tapping riff on a 7 string, figured my hands are too small and using the pinky doesn’t really help, switched to a 3/4 scale guitar and it’s still pretty damn challenging 😩 mad respect to Chris for not only coming up with amazing music but also being able to play it lol
No such thing as "small hands" and etc. if you dont have any congenital diseases. Thats just an excuse to not practicing hard enough. You can play anything you want if you are willing to invest time into it.
Valery Blak lets make one thing clear. I only mentioned the whole smaller scale guitar backstory because that’s what made me appreciate the music and the skill behind it even more. Not because I wanted “constructive criticism” from strangers who most likely can’t play the riff themselves anyway

I like this version the most the vocals are just too harsh for me a version with 3/4clean vocals would make waaaaay more radio stations js. The song is awesome either way
