Something else I've noticed I want to share with you guys I've learned recently it seems to me this connected disconnected cable sometimes can be a software issue or just something going on with the PS5. It only seems to happen when you first turn on the PlayStation after about 5 or 10 minutes it stops happening. So try leaving your PS5 and rest mode and see if that prevents it.
I had exactly this problem , i cut out a piece from a hard sponge and wedged it underneath. That fixed the problem. Sony should be outright ASHAMED of these kind of design failures .... like come on
@@Mo-wx2ql my playstation lays flat , and i jammed that sponge underneath the cable at the part where it enters the playstation so it basically lifts up the cable. I also jammed a toothpick underneath the cable's plug and into the playstation port which causes the cable to be jammed inside . Works perfect now
I bought a ps5 back in December and been having this issue. I was able to get another one this week and that is doing it as well.... If this is a physical issue, it has not been corrected almost a year later.

This is exactly my issue even after my first time using lan cable on the ps5 at first it was so tight fitting then after second time pulling out and connecting the port is so loose using little cardboard on side it works now
I keep calling Sonly support "line busy". They should be replacing consoles with bad ethernet. Especially since people had to pay thousand dollars for them.
My ps5 isn't having any connection issue at the moment. However, I did notice that the Lan cable wiggles a lot in the port as if it was loose, and I wanted to know if that is normal/just how it is built. If anyone could give me feedback on that I would appreciate it. Thanks
To be honest it's hard to say with something like that. When it comes to manufacturing especially on a large scale like a console there are so many factors that are involved that is mind-blowing. There are some devices where I believe a port could be loose and yet the connection wouldn't be an issue however I think dealing with the PS5 I don't think it was meant to be that loose. The reason I say that is because So many people are having issues with their ports. When it comes to manufacturing something like this it could be anything from the molding process the jigs or fixtures they're using in the factories it could be the way there are assembled it could be an issue with certain cables being .001 or smaller difference between the ports could be causing the issues. Hell for all we know the designer could have used particular cables with particular dimensions and maybe that's why not everybody's having the same problem maybe they're using a different cable. Maybe the designer used three of the main cable sizes as far as the connection for the ports and other cables could be a difference in size of .001 or .005 of an inch. That doesn't sound like a lot but it can make a big difference when you're dealing with connection issues and things of this manner. Honestly there's no telling The only way I can ever figure it out is if I had the Prince for the designs and all the true dimensions of what they're supposed to be and if I only could see their setup process and how they actually assemble the products on the line that issue could be caused by any one of those factors from machining to design to assembly and it's really no telling. If Sony cared enough they could figure out where the issues coming from because I'm sure they have very high quality control and then they can solve the issue themselves. Again I deal with machining for several years and aerospace machining so I've seen a lot of weird things in my career.
I tried the toothpick on the PS5 and it kept doing the disconnect thing. So I tried putting one on the modem and that stopped it. So it could be your modem or your PS5
Unfortunately I have this issue I did the tooth pick and so far so good but I still dont like the fact I have a toothpick in my Ps5 lmao Im going to buy a new cable cat 8 and see if that helps otherwise gotta have to stick with toothpick
So I’m using a brand new cable so it’s not that. And when I made the port tighter it worked for a few days then it’s started doing it again it’s not a permanent fix it’s just temporarily
I don't have a toothpick, but a folded piece of paper worked for me. It has to be a port issue because I didn't get that error on my ps4. I'm gonna buy a new Ethernet cable to see if it helps, but if not I'll try replacing the full port.
Is it me or the way your propping it it's pushing the pins away from the connection. 🤔 aren't the pins on the cord on the top side of the plug away from the rear clip...you'd have to flip the ps5 on its front to push the pins on the cord closer to the pins on the ps5
So is this port issue firmware or is the physical port broken? For me it’ll disconnect for a sec then reconnect so I assume it’s firmware and not physically broken?
It appears to be physical, it's like the port is too loose I use something to wedge underneath the cable to kind of push it downwards and it stopped the issue every once in a while I'll get a land cable connected notification on my screen but I never get to disconnect anymore which is good and that message only shows up four or five times when I first turn on the PlayStation so I can tolerate that
I got my PS5 this week directly from Sony and have this Problem. Seems like the new Versions of the PS5 still have this issue. Also some people say rebuilding the database helped fixing it, but that wouldn't make any sense if it's a physical port issue.
Yea it was loose port. I took the clear clip part and put it over top of the rubber sleeve it was under, that kinda worked but it was still doing it. I took a screw and put it under the clear clip and the rubber now I'm good.
I'm starting to think its a heat issue I have 4 ps5s in different homes on different routers they all do the lan disconnect some less frequently then others I have the newer ps5 with the smaller heat sink and the original. I think the shielding around the ethernet isn't thick enough or resistant enough from heat. That's why it happens after awhile of playing. It's either that or the way the ps systems talk to the routers. I tried static and port forwarding as well as dns. I've called Sony and netgear and Asus. They all need to have a conversation and send us a hotfix for the systems. Relax guys your systems aren't broken or its a major recall on the shielding around the ethernet and they won't fix it cause they'd lose tons of money. What they could do is send a hotfix to the way the heatsink powers and cycles but they aren't gonna take a loss on every ps5 sold... I did how ever put two small pieces of guerilla tape thin pieces on the metal sides of the ethernet plug so when you push it in it takes up the wiggle instead of toothpicks and propping . I will say I get the error less on 2 of them. It may be a coincidence or it may be something idk on one I have no usbs connected and it gets the error about once ever few days, now that may be less heat due to usage of all the ports... One I have left alone and it gets the message a few times a day. I test when I go to my different homes which are in different states and I travel alot but those are results I have noticed. Hotfix or heat shielding are my bet. The later can be fixed with a hotfix to the heatsink cycling...

You should only have one port on the back of the PS5. Run a cable to the back of your PS5 and then run it to your router and that'll be the port / lan cable connection
Fixed my lan issue by taking it out wrapping it up and pitching it in the cow field and connnecting wireless bc I'm sick of losing all my damn gear in mw3 sony bastards

Try buying different lan cables. I did that and it also work never had a problem since. I'm still amazed they still having this problem hopefully it'll work out for you buddy

I touch my cable and disconnected...I changed the cable and same problems.

I insert a toothpick in the corner of the slot to hold up the weight of the cord. So far so good 👍🏾

The first time I did it the problem came back. You have to make that connection really tight so make sure it doesn't come back again.

9 months later with the newest version of the ps5 and it’s still not fixed
the only fix for this problem is to send it back to Sony. My warranty has ran out and it will cost me 240 pounds

You should only have one port on the back of the PS5. Run a cable to the back of your PS5 and then run it to your router and that'll be the port / lan cable connection
