When Boosted appeared on the market, they were by far the best product available. Great performance, amazing durability and top of the line customer support. As the e-vehicle market matured, other manufacturers began to catch up to that level of quality while boosted basically stayed the same. They tried to introduce a budget version of their board but it was still more expensive than what the competition had to offer. Also from my experience, getting it shipped to other countries was not a pleasant experience. Having a ~20% import tax on an already expensive product and on top of that, having to pay $100 shipping was what ultimately led me to choose a different board. Boosted was often called "the Apple of electric skateboards" but unlike Apple, they didn't have the whole ecosystem of products to keep customers loyal to them. Shame to see them go but unfortunately that's how competition works. If you don't adapt, you're gonna get beat

Time to learn how to fix all my own parts.
They charged WAY too much. I bought a Lectric Longboard for like $400 dollars that gives over twice the range. They went for the Apple approach and tried to sell a “premium” experience. Unlike a smartphone, not everyone needs an electric longboard. And $1000+ for something that isn’t a necessity just isn’t viable for the majority of people. Especially when you can get something with better stats at a fraction of the cost
Truly disappointing. I love my boosted board, I’ve put thousands of miles on it and it’s just an incredible experience. I could see how and why they would go out, but I’m sad that my fears have come to fruition.
I'm currently saving for an xr I cannot wait! Think the thing that kills a booted board isn't necessarily the price seeing how a one wheel is 1800 however they did come out with the pint for 950. Anyways. The boosted is pretty much a 1 trick pony. Definitely not as nimble as a onewheel and there's no doubt you can take a one wheel way more places over more terrain / uneven surfaces / crappy sidewalks than a boosted board. Another key seeking point. Completely hands free with a one wheel. One less thing to lose/break. One wheels are basically bomb proof!
It’s not like the boosted board design is unique at all. It’s just a 🛹 with an electric motor. So there’s going be tons of copycats and DIY kits coming out of china.
I don't own its product yet, but I believe in its brand influence and the product itself. Someone with the right strategy and connection should buy the company and revive it.
There pricing is what screwed them. So many brands that had as good, or even better specs on their boards, for less than half the price. My Meepo V2 cost me 400$, and it blows the boosted away in everything except the boosted has 1mph faster top speed.
What killed them is the price, you can now get boards with the same exact ride quality for half the price from other companies, so why would I spend 1800 when I can spend 800...

They should of made a base over seas. To have the product made over seas then shipped to the states. Might of been expensive but a good move in the long run.
I hope they make it. They have a powerful product, but they cost a lot. If they had battery replaceable option in the scooter, sale will go up a lot more because I can put some extended battery in my back pack.
So I guess I should go ahead and buy as many Boosted Board belts as possible to make sure I have them in the future...
I have an extended battery for my board that cannot be used since it has to be updated through the app... and the app is down...
For about 4 years, I’ve been wanting to get this board but due to the temptation of buying cheaper alternatives that ended up ranging from almost as good to better, I can’t help but not feel sorry for the situation Boosted is in right now. If I were to pay that much for a board, I might as well have just kept saving for a used car or motorcycle.

Personal mobility (Electric scooter) became a trend after scooter sharing Apps became a big deal, as a results companies begun coming out with new scooters overnight and eventually the market became saturated.
Their down fall was the price. I love my teamgee h20T.
Good taste, I'm hoping to get one this year. Far better range, deck shape and hybrid AT wheels!
@@esk8jaimes My only regret is not buying the 9ah one. If you're getting one, and you're in the city with bumpy roads, I'd recommend the all terrain wheels and the 9ah. This board takes a lot of power.
@@LeonCamero is it possible to put those hybrid AT wheels from the H20-T onto the standard H20 model?
@@esk8jaimes Yes. Both the standard and the ER variant can use the same wheels. As long as it's the H20T of course. I don't know if it fits the other variants such as the h9 and stuff.
It always bugged me they never moved into an off-road board. A longer range board..there are cheaper and more expensive boards that give some variety of better range or better features that were more interesting. I chose to spend MORE on an Evolve board and it seems they're under the radar enough to have less knockoffs - and they aren't messing around with scooters so I hope they stick around of coarse. Time to learn how to fix all my own parts.
I mean
Who thought these things were going to last anyway
Like 90% of the cost is the batteries.
I never once thought .. “I need an electric skateboard” ..
It depends on where you live. In big cities, it's excellent, and in my case, it's faster to ride an electric skateboard home than taking the bus
Sucks being an owner now. Its like owning a car where there are no parts available anymore so when its done its done.
Is boosted back? because 4/6 boards are now available again on their website
I lost my hand held remote, where can I buy one?
Bought one pretty cheap from their suppliers they didn’t pay. One month later they declared bankruptcy
One Wheel made in the USA 👌

I'm currently saving for an xr I cannot wait! Think the thing that kills a booted board isn't necessarily the price seeing how a one wheel is 1800 however they did come out with the pint for 950. Anyways. The boosted is pretty much a 1 trick pony. Definitely not as nimble as a onewheel and there's no doubt you can take a one wheel way more places over more terrain / uneven surfaces / crappy sidewalks than a boosted board. Another key seeking point. Completely hands free with a one wheel. One less thing to lose/break. One wheels are basically bomb proof!
Boosted is the Peloton of electric skateboards. Not surprised they are in trouble now.
I own a “Lou Board” the one he crashed on.
So if I wanted an electric board now, what’s the go to brand? :/
I remember you testing before you even took your cap off if I’m not mistaken
I wanted one but they’re really expensive and not sure if I can bring it on flight.
What’s the best one to buy now
I would have bought one if they aren’t complete pitching to the wrong segment of consumers! Make them economical, not lux. Do volume!
It’s not like the boosted board design is unique at all. It’s just a 🛹 with an electric motor. So there’s going be tons of copycats and DIY kits coming out of china.
Someone please meme the fall, im sorry lew but that was so funny i forgot that ever happened
Maybe this will be a lesson to all companies... Don't put all your eggs in one Chinese basket...
I can't believe people ride these things without armor...
I can’t stop laughing at the crash it was awesome haha 😂
What killed them is the price, you can now get boards with the same exact ride quality for half the price from other companies, so why would I spend 1800 when I can spend 800...
I hope the same does not happen to Future Motion Inc. makers of the @Onewheel
This is why will du and lew are bes combo WILL and lew : TOM is on Segway
rip boosted gl and i hope we will see you soon
Hey guys, I have an order with Boosted for the Boosted Beams, I paid for it with Paypal and I’m still waiting for the delivery. Do I suspect correctly that I’ve lost my cash? I’ve tried emailing Boosted and surprise surprise... no reply 😦
I wouldn't say it was an "unfortunate" end. People mainly wanted it because it was popular. Alot of other eboards are probably better with a more affordable price.
I almost thought Will wasn’t there
They kept making what I’d call the original Tesla Roadster. They never made it to their version of a Model 3
I just checked their website to buy one and everything was out of stock
Now i found this
Would not be surprised to see Casey involved in the boosted reboot. Do what you can't, right?
Such a great company, a bit pricey, but they replaced anything the board ever has needed and were always there for support. I always felt safe at speeds and that built my trust.
And real Skateboarding prevails! 😤🤘🏽
Can u please try out the kaabo mantis 10 pro? Would be awesome 👏
Boost it boards were never safe and cheap enough to be truly successful.
Safe? Well they were as safe as a skateboard could be, but cheap? Nah it was wayyy over priced. I was thinking about getting a revel electric skateboard kit, where you could just put it on any skateboard, and it’s only 500 dollRs. You can also remove the battery so you can bring it on an airplane
Gordon Lin you can do thst also on a boosted you just can’t take an extended range battery on the plane
14 mile range on there most premium board is ridiculous... That was the only thing holding me back from buying.
This is terrible, we where just beginning to pick up a community in my city after past couple of years too.. heres to hoping they get that exemption.
I wanted one so bad. Just not worth more than a grand when there’s snow 5 months a year where I’m from
Will the price of used boosted boards go up or down after this?
Sound is really weird in this video. Sounds like Lew's voice is distorted slightly like a robot
EVolve just wiped them off the market with similarly priced boards and significant range and ability differences
I got 2 boostedboards and I can't find any parts now to replace them since everyone stopped selling them. Great
