REBUILD S54 IS BACK! (First start!!)

The S54 is finally back after getting another rebuild. This time it needed new pistons, new rods, new bearings and most importantly.... new oil sprayers..
It's a bummer the engine already failed after 3000km but it's back now and better than ever!

Good to see you already progressed with the S54. Very strange that the oil sprayer was hitting the piston.. first time I hear about this. Good job spotting it.

Yeah it was because of the aftermarket pistons, it's all running good now

Wow, I never would've guessed it could've been the oil sprayers hitting the piston skirt. Glad to see you found the issue and you're getting around it!

HOLY COW! Wossner pistons? but you showed a JE box? JE is sister to Wiseco, JE are a predominant choice in the USA. I used Wiseco looking at pics of the skirt is not nearly as long but, skirts hitting squirters is infuriating! Does the piston maker sell squirters for their piston? was there a small change in the stroke that you somehow got by with until failure? Anyway glad that you were able to get that block reused? I have 500 miles on my build now, everything seems great but the vanos is at the dealer getting actuated P0014 code

Brutal cost for a small failure. Engines really don't like it when the have metal thrown in them and the don't get oil.
