"The latest Leon blends a sporty drive, stylish looks and decent practicality better than ever before."
Also if you're thinking of buying this car, go for it! Not only is it value for money, but it's so smooth and it has the wow factor ! Unlike a boring old golf
Car mad , Hi I was wondering which should we chose :F. Focus or Leon....? Please people really appreciate any help
troecurov3 I can speak from experience because I have owned both vehicles! I owned a 2012 automatic Ford Focus. I loved the drive and it's an fantastic car all around. However, personally ill say the leon is way better! To being with, Focus's are everywhere so they depreciate really quickly! The Leon is not only beautiful but has way more interior space and the car feels more refined over bumps! It feels a lot more up market and I've owned my 2014 dsg 1.2 leon for over 2 years and have had no problems. I'd highly recommend the Leon and you should do a bit more research to find out which engine will best suit you! Good luck
Car mad thanks so much innit
I had a 2014 FR 2.0 TDi as a company car for about a year. Decent performance, good handling, good comfort and great level of equipment. I did just over 18000 miles of mixed motorway, A roads and B roads driving and averaged 55-56 mpg.
definitely better looking car than golf
trust me
Go to spec saver
One Step lol
It’s not
No
The best car in it's class, affordable, comfortable, nice to drive, spacious, practical, very economical, well build and pleasant to eyes.
That's truly incredible. 0-60 in 7.5 seconds with 65 mpg (or at least 55) and a normal one which gives 75 mpg! With all that equipment, sportiness and good ride and them looks I don't see why anyone would buy an Astra, Focus or Golf
Because of Carbuyer I bought Seat Leon thank you very much :)
i recently bought the leon 1.2 dsg.The DSG auto change is amazing.I initally did not even want a leon.I rented a manual diesel for a weekend and was unimpressed with the engine noise and it had a hard handbrake.
Turns out the handbrake on the rental was faulty and responsible for the hard feel.
After test driving the A3,golf ,astra and i30 for some weird reason my wife said why not go next door and try the leon.
I did .The petrol version was simply amazing and as i said the DSG was great. You also get good gear with the SE making the most sense. Also it comes with the free tech package .Haggle well and the DSG version will only set you back less then £1000 and well worth it.
It drives like a golf and looks better. Also recent survey for 1 year old car(hard to tell its 3 year value as this generation is not there yet) has kept it % wise(residual value)in top 10 and rising beating now the golf and edging closer to the audi 3 now.
Dunno what the comment about the boot is about seems same as the golf to me when i looked around and beats some other models too.
Well worth it if you getting a new car.I paid £17400 but there was a lot of added insurance and non seat added on stuff .The price for the car was actually about £16500 which was a 1.2 dsg auto 5 door metallic paint SE with tech and convience pack.Try speccing that on a audi 3 or a golf and you pay easily £3-4k extra.
One of the smallest boots in class Rebecca? It's the same 380 litres as in the Golf and about 65 litres bigger than the Focus! It's also 10 litres more than in the Astra!
I'll let you off though because, like the Leon you are rather beautiful! Keep up the good work racing and reviewing!
how I miss her!!!
What happened to her

Ehh love the design. Friend of mine drive it and he said the car is great. I will definitely get it when I pass my driving test, it's something fresh it also looks a little bit like an Audi A3 which I love as well.
I got one as my first car and I can also definitely recommend it. Very reliable car and nice looks 😀
well it's different for every person so I can only speak for myself. I pay around 1,200€ annually including full comprehensive cover. I'm a beginner driver though and I drive a lot.
But I don't know how premiums are calculated outside of Germany, so I'd just give some insurers a call...
Yes, It's build on MQB platform. Actually Ibiza and Leon always gets the same platform as newest Polo and Golf platform.
Germany is its biggest market (after Spain) so don't be too surprised. The new Leon's aim is to help Seat increase sales units to 800,000 per year. In red and in FR trim, both 3 and 5 door are damn sexy versions of Audi A3. It has enough Spanish flair to keep it from being an A3 clone!
my birthday is today. a new carbuyer review is a great birthday gift. :p
Sorry if I fail to see the upmarket thingy she talks about. Another one with some soft touch on top and some scratchy hard plastic down below (...the golf more or less also does that). At least the door panels have some kind of covering on top. That instrument panel looks like it came from an audi 80 *the egg one*. And the new kia cars have better climate switches etc...
Great car! Had mine a few days ago love it
Do you still have it? If so, do you think its stil a good car? Cheers mate
@@jerry98ification Originaly I had the FR 2.0 TDI, but changed over to the FR 1.8tsi ST in march of 2018, both cars have been fantastic, though the 1.8tsi uses alot more fuel even in eco, the 2.0tdi will easily average 65-70+mpg on motorways whereas my current 1.8 petrol barely pushes 40mpg. Fantastic car though and will probably get the Cupra ST in march 2021.
@@jaybatsford 5 years and still satisfied? Thats what i wanted to know haha thank you. I still cant decide between the fr 1.8 tsi and the cupra 300
@@jerry98ification I'd recommend them all day mate, fantastic cars & solid build quality all round, only bone of contention I had with my 2018 ST is that even though it has rear parking sensors my 2015 also activated a rear parking display on the centre console that offered a visual aid to rear parking that's no longer available unless you also have the driver assist package.
@@jaybatsford that's nothing VCDS couldn't fix :) you really helped me to decide what my next car should be and that right on time because my mk6 gti's engine blew up last week haha
I thought the boot was 380 litres same as the golf so how is that amongst the smallest in class when the focus/v40/a class all have much smaller boots
I like Seats. Good review on the latest model
Seats were really good looking for a while. What happened?
It's not up top but lower down it's a bit scratchy! Much improved on my last generation one! This review is the cheaper version but the FR is very nice inside with nicely weighted switch gears and everything you touch regularly feels pretty good! I's say it's about Golf Mk V standard!
It's build on the latest MQB platform, the same one that the golf mk 7 uses.
Hey there hallodunase! Thanks for butting in :)
New camera person? The shots were a bit too close this time, we would like to have a bit more overall view shots ... (examples, to show the backseat space and the cutaway storage montage)
This video does no justice to the interior at all. Rebecca says it has a quality looking dash and it really does when you see it for real but in this video it looks plain. I am glad I went to a dealership to see one for myself.
Rebecca while time passes you are more and more better at reviewing :) congratz :D
she is soo sooo soo cute! "okay, comfortable!"
:3
As always, great review.
The review said that the boot is not true, it has the same capacity as the Audi A3 Sportback is 380lt. The more small boot in the class is the Mercedes-Benz Class A, that is 341lt.
that boot may be the smallest in class, but its much better than my Peugeot 106
Seat is always improving. Very impressed.
I love how carbuyer thinks the public spend most of their time buying flat-pack furniture
i love Rebecca's accent.
Rebecca looks gorgeous!!
And the review was very good. Thank you!
Well, if you noticed the leg room in the back was more then a Golf. So I guess it levels itself out.
If you want performance go for the TDI? You do know the Cupra right?
Sorry Rebecca, but we were waiting Matt to review this car
This is a sharper looking car than the model it replaced!
Had a black 2014 one for a bit
That is a general problem of all cars that belong to the VW group. They tend to use the same part, such as those switches etc, and it does take away some of the looks on cars such as Ibiza, Leon, and even in the audies. They do save costs that way, but the dullness repels the buyers.
Those curves, & lines.. the cars alright too.
as with previous Leons (owned a 2008 Fr) all that storage and little cubby holes = more rattles
Someone said her hubby is monitoring the comments. So what? If she is married, where's the ring?? And what is he gonna do, reach through the computer and beat you up? She is a cutie and she does have a nice a**! What's wrong with that?
Ohh so you assume you have a chance whenever they don't wear a ring? LMAO :D most people these days dont marry. She has a boyfriend. Too bad
I only love and drive Volvos and Audis but if i had to choose 3th option this would be it.
At 3.30 look at the window guide rubber its twisted off of the door metal for a review model you would expect a great pdi so what hope joe public?
Except the MkI Leon that got the Golf MkIV platform.
There's not a lot wrong with the Leon except the overdone "look at me, I have lots of sharp lines!" styling. The 1.2TSI is quite fast enough and it handles brilliantly. Currently comes with the tech pack (LED lights all round, satnav, DAB) for free. Don't pay anything like RRP though, because you can get an Audi A3 SE with the same engine (and quite enough kit) for under £17,000 through a broker.
Just bought the 2014 Leon FR, absolutely love it, as for the "look at me" sharp lines, they are the reason I wanted it in the first place, what is the point in spending money on something ugly??? It looks sleek and sexy rather than just a dull box with wheels like its competitors (especially the A3), the interior is smart and uncluttered and the dials are colourful sporty and modern, the technology in the car is modern and the touch screen sound system is amazing, a cool little feature is hidden interior lighting that changes from white to red when you put the car in sport mode, the car also sounds very sporty when you put your foot down. and It turns heads in car parks..
I wouldn't swap it for a boring Audi A3 for love nor money. As for the price, lets face it, all cars are overpriced in the current economy.
that is because golfs desing never even changes.
Not only Ms. Jackson is "only five foot four and a half," she is also very cute too!
From the VW Group that runs on the same MQB platform then the Skoda would have the biggest boot space. Leon, Golf 7 and A3 are the same
I get what you're saying, however I find the Golf to be quite good looking.
The Rebbeca I know and love is back ms. 5 foot 4 and a quarter.....
If you hid the badge and told me this was the new Audi A3, I wouldn't be able to tell.
I just watched the video to figure out how to pronounce the name of the car. didnt realize the thing we sit on was pronounced "say at" o.x
me too. watching multiple videos to make sure its really the case. don't want to be a fool in front of others
Totally on it, the Golf is too expensive having this as a more stylish alternative
Rebecca made my day tnx
Quite a nice looking car - bit Mazda 3-ish.
I'd consider it now as the GOLF in Europe is getting a bit too expensive.
which one is the biggest in the segment?
sharing the Golf's platform im sure its a great car to drive. Styling is a tad on the bland side though by no means is it ugly but its definitely not anywhere as good looking as the Golf. And regardless of the fact that its at a 10% price advantage it wouldn't be enough for me buy this over the Golf.
I like the touch screen interface with sensors
yup,she is deffo getting better, prefer the old shape tho, this one is too samey
Much better lines out there man
I had a pretty hard time focusin on the car during this review unfortunately :-(
How can the boot be smallest in class? The Seat Leon is basically a re-badged Golf.
i am in love with Rebeca
Does she come with the car?
No seat belt height adjustment?
Does this Seat Leon use the new MQB platform or does it use the last gen. Golf platform. Seat unfortunately has a history of being built on last generation VW/Audi platforms.
Didn't mention the DSG (auto) gear box....Whats it like?
When Are you Going to Review The Ford B-Max ????
Rebecca could review sewing machines and I'd subscribe just so I'd never miss a show!
the tail lights look a bit like the ones on the Renault Clio 4
I'm driving this car for 2 months now and it's really cool looking and sexy car especially in red like mine with the black panoramic sunroof, the 1.2tsi + the 6 gears manual gear box is a very successful combination and the finishing is v.good for what i payed for,way better than the golf, i hate the paint finishing, i mean the quality of the paint job is not like her vw sister, and the sitting position isn't to my taste but overall the car is good...
A if it's not ferrari or Lamborghini don't paint red or yellow. That's what I said to my dealer.
Hmm, she has very nice shapes.
where has matt gone?
too many larger is it for them?? not so is it??
still wanting Rebecca to come to the states and review the merican trucks
How to activate SEAT Leon spare key?
The old model looked a lot more distinctive.
What about the 1.2 tsi se ?
Love the angry look
I can't tell you how many reviews I have watched on this channel of cars we can't get over here in America or cars that I could care less about, just because. lol
I like the design of this car better than golf actually.
nice review
so what ! i was thinking the same thing. luv the look out thru' the rear seat.
Did anyone see that thing fly in the air when the car went past, 2:45
Awww Rebecca is back..
beautiful!!!! and the car's not bad either... :)
Rear visibility in most cars reviews of Carbuyer UK is really bad..
i love rebecca altogether
I'd like to have a 2013 Nissan Leaf review.
1:59 Finally back of the car.
2 litre car with 65 miles to the gallon?
Rear (Pre-facelift)
tell me more about those extra airbags... ;)
She could have mention the Full LED headlights...
The boot one of the smallest in class? It is the other way around. Do your homework ms reviewer. 380 lts. Same as the golf, c4 and almost the civic. Talking about 5 door hatchbacks it is as good as it gets.
The c4 needs a repair kit to reach 400 lts more or less. If not it is far less. And the civic claims the same capacity with the damn underboot storage room. The golf etc have 380 with a spare included though the small one. The older VAG ones had 340-350 (hatches) and the focus dropped to 316 with a spare. So? Relax my comments. It is his job and he is wrong.
Ok so my father got a Leon 2013 and it got way different styling, why are SEAT going with 2 different styles?
The boot is one of the smallest in class, although its the same boot size as the Golf 7, 380 liters although nothing is being said when it concerns a Golf -_-
i like the design!
Guys, this car full equiped (almost equal as the new golf), 183 bhp,fr version, much, much ( and when i say much, i mean much) better looking than the one reviewed ( this one is one of the cheapiest versions...) leather seats, doueble xenon and led lights etc etc costs less than 22000 pounds, try to get something similar with a golf, the golf goes over 30000... and this one in high spec is far better looking than the golf. Don´t make me laugh. This new Leon is awesome.
