      Yeah that's why i don't understand why people are complaining that it's more expensive but not faster in games compared to the 7800X3D.
      Why would anyone build 2 separate PCs for gaming and productivity when you only need to sacrifice 2-5% performance in single or multi-core for a single package. It's literally the best CPU in the market if you do everything with it.
      I used to have a 5800X3D which i replaced for the 7950X3D since i can do my huge excel sheets so much faster it's not even a contest while also having one of the best gaming performances.

      @@kerotomas1 For gaming focus only it is a waste of money, that is a true statement, me for example I use my rig primarily for gaming, other than just browsing or something of that nature where performance is irrelevant anyway. The 7800x3d is way cheaper and performs on par with the 7950x3d, not because it has a better architecture but because the 7950x3d has a worse architecture. Because of AMD limiting 3d-v cache to only one chiplet, you can only benefit from 3d-v cache on half the cores, and because of the latency to communicate between chiplets, is it best to simply run games on those 8 cores with 3d-v cache rather than using all 16 but having then to communicate between chiplets, effectively bringing the 7950x3d down to the same number of cores active as the 7800x3d when gaming, the difference in certain games is probably because amd downclocked hard the 7800x3d to avoid competing too hard with the 7900x3d and the 7950x3d.

      The code in the AMD chipset drivers optimizes the scheduler based on there being 2 ccx's. However the AMD software is not resetting and reoptimizing if you put in a 5800X3D properly. Even if you uninstall and reinstall with a clean install flag the old settings persist. You need a fresh windows install. I'm sure it's a bug AMD will remedy in the future. I can explain in better detail if you want.

    4k should also be included, as CPU stability is important and RT scales up with pixel count (which directly affects CPUs).
    When you show the conclusion of the average on the bottom, you should include the lows as well. Having them both hit the same average doesn't mean they had the same stability. Also, games that have options RT need to show RT on AND off. As a side note, this is especially true when you benchmark x3d vs non x3d.

    • @gateopssss

      Is it really necessary to show 4k?
      At that point it is 100% a GPU bottleneck and there is no way to show the difference between these two CPU's, considering what games he benchmarks. If RT you mean raytracing, it does not affect CPU whatsoever since it is taken care off GPU's RT cores entirely. This was entirely a CPU test to see which one pulls more framerate out on lower resolution, GPU is not the bottleneck on those settings, CPUs are.
      As for the 1% (or/and 0.1% lows), i don't consider that necessary next to similar and/or equal CPU's as 7800X3D/7950X3D, as much as you talk about stability, you'd see 0 issues. Your eyes would not be able to make that 1ms difference, does that really matter to any of us?

      Yeah best for no-brainers but not for pc enthusiasts and power users. 7800x3d is efficient and offers really good performance per watt but it’s not the best gaming/productivity cpu or bang for buck by any means. And It’s using more cpu usage bc it has 8 cores vs 16 core 7950x3d. If you knew more about pc’s you wouldn’t be calling a $550 8 core cpu best bang for buck. It’s the best cpu out of box with 6000 mhz ram/air cooler tho. But if you get cheap Hynix a die (same price as 6000mhz ddr5) enter a 8800mhz xmp in less than 1 minute that tittle quickly fades away.

      That comparison is meaningless unless you don't know anything about what the 3D V-cache brings.
      The 7900X isn't much better in gaming conpared to 7800X or even 7600X in games with lower specs.
      Most games are fine with 6 cores and 8 cores are already enough for any game.
      The 7800X3D is a different story because it isn't the core count (and a small diffference in frequency), but the huge amout of cache which allows it to store data and skip over accesing the RAM to get that information. It also helps for faster comunication between cores. In games it is mostly the waiting for the information which holds you from reaching 100 FPS (except heavily optimised games like CS:GO).

      @robertobokarev439 6 месяцев назад

      @@jek230 Each chiplet can have up to 8 cores at once. L3 cache is shared among all cores at THAT EXACT chiplet. It means that if core of the first chiplet needs to request a data that's allocated in L3 cache of other chiplet, you get the latency of infinity fabric bus. 6- and 8-core CPUs are based on a single one, so no Infinity fabric = no cache latency. By the way, infinity fabric is not that bad, but it's all about CPU demanding tasks and RAM OC.
      3D-V cache is just a technology to stack additional cache on a chiplet and minimize requests to RAM and other chiplets, that's it. First idea of that was about creating some double chiplet-X3D monsters like 5950x3d with 384mb L3 cache, but it was cancelled since it was too defective (official info from amd).

    • @omega_6777
      @omega_6777 Год назад

      Nothing is the bottleneck. If you want to test a CPU, you definitely do not want the GPU to bottleneck, which is why they went with a RTX 4090 on 1080p, and since the least games use even 8 cores and most of them just 1-4, the CPU will also of course be unable to be fully utilized.
