They say variety is the spice of life. And this vid rates highly - if it’s not in the rear cab of a Metro train, we’re being transported around in a tram in Egypt, or Model trams, Sydney red rattlers or rail motors. Keep on surprising us mate😁😁🤔

I was not in the back cab. Only the camera was. Lately Metro has been checking carefully for unauthorised people in train cabs so even if you knew the driver, none would take the risk.

When was this taken? And how come there were no station announcements?
It was taken several years ago. Generally speaking in the cab you cannot hear the station announcements which the passengers hear.
@@tressteleg1 I heard the welcome announcement at the start of the video, so I don't know why there were no other announcements.

Do you know if the siding at Ashburton is still used? There were always trains parked there on the weekend when I was a kid in the early 80s
Well it looks like there are trees overhanging the siding, and with no anti-graffiti vandal fence they would never leave a train there very long!

From all my other front cab videos you should notice that announcements can rarely be heard by the driver.
