In the TCEC superfinal season 11, between Stockfish and Houdini, Traxler was on the opening book the engines had to play. Both games ended in a draw. SF played the Lxf7/Lb3 line, Houdini the Nxf7/Kf1 line. Of course, Houdini did not fall for the losing c3 line and played d6, but that was not winning either. Note that both these engines on TCEC hardware would make mincemeat out of Lichess's analysis engine, especially in a Traxler.
@@xavieremond Well, in a more recent sufi (season 17), Traxler was on the board again tcec-chess.com/#div=sf&game=92&season=17, both engines playing the Lxf7 line, Leela winning with white and holding with black. The corresponding link for season 11 does not seem to work, I suppose one has to download the pgn of the whole event to get these games.
I really enjoy the part at 16 mins onwards where you keep trying to show the engine saying that Nd7! is a bad move - Nd7 and white is almost certainly lost, simply due to the savage pressure down the F file and the many black pieces lurking in the position.
Ask a grandmaster who knows to play Traxler. That would be the best way to find out who is better and what moves are the strongest. GM Ben Finegold for instance thinks Traxler is not bad for black
In his video on the Traxler, the best Ben Finegold could do was a draw. All the other examples he showed from other players were wins. It's a really sharp opening and lots of fun, but as HP points out, it's not the soundest opening. I don't think it's something Ben likes to play that often. Suggest checking out Mato's playlist on the Traxler if you want to see how it's handled by stronger players. I think the opening is better than HP makes it out to be. White moves the same piece twice in an attack by only two pieces, with the rest of his pieces undeveloped. That's what Black is refuting with the Traxler. Miodrag Perunovic also has a good video on the Traxler, laying out a discussion with tactics and theory. Lots to unpack there, so you'll most likely end up watching it two or three times. Good luck!
sorry about the late comment, i study all of my opening with you and you help me a lot.. but gothamchess published a video on the traxler which explains that in move 9 you must play d6, and than the theory goes on for another 16 (!) moves, in the end, white must sac his queen and he is a little bit better. however, after d6 black should take with the queen Qxd6 and not with the pawn. and again thank you very much for all the help!!
i analyzed this with stockfish 16 at 3580 elo, it says instead of attacking the knight with pawn it says you should move the pawn to d6 attacking the queen thus letting you get the knight out
After Studying both B and N sac lines, I've found out that Knight takes f7 is better if and only IF White Plays perfectly and also either 11.Kxf2 or 11.Cxd4 the engine will consider both as best moves and also blunders as in a couple of moves White will lose his Queen but white will have material advantage and only can benefit if he can defend perfectly against Black's pressure so
I do not understand why the two main lines are called the Bishop Sacrifice Line or the Knight Sacrifice Line. In neither line is white sacrificing either.
according to my droid fish app which is stronger than the lichess engine c3 loses. It did however think black was lost until it saw Nd7. it now evaluates c3 as losing by -6
After d6 Qxd6 Nf7 Qe7 you got 3 variation h3 c3 d3 you could analyse them and make a video on them I believe you will conclude all 3 variation lead to a draw. So I maintain Bxf7+ is the best move.
You missed one move in what should be considered the "best line" for white. On the Nxf7 line, after 5 ...Bxf2+, Kf1 Qe7, Nxf8 d5, exd5 Nd4 ...now instead of 9. c3 , d6 is the better line for white. It continues 9 ...cxd6 10. Kxf2 ...if Bg4 then Qf1 and Stockfish says +3.1 ...if Ne4+ (the other common move) then Kg1 and the analysis is +7.5.
If Traxler is used in 5 min rapid, it is highly unlikely that White will consistently find the best moves against someone who is studied up on the theory 12-15 moves on the Traxler.
Odličan kanal ali ako dozvolite sugestiju. Ne proučavajte dok snimate, napravite to ranije. I pokušajte promjeniti interijer presterilan je. I nemojte se toliko pozivati na engine....budite Vi autoritet. Sretno!
Also the lichess SF is not as strong as if you put SF on fritz gui because it stop is analysis instead of going infinite... So you get that strange behavior of analysis going up and down but I analysed this many years ago (decades )and I concluded Bxf7+ was the best move.
I think if you leave the computer think long enough (how long ?)it chose Bxf7+ not Nxf7 it just evaluate the position superficially if you don't let think long enough
there is a third move that exist not well know I put it it as not as good as Bxf7+ but maybe = or better than Nxf7 that move is d4!? well maybe just another draw its unclear.
Your analysis is wrong. The bf7 is actually better for black. The pin on the knight along with the open f file give black all the counter play he needs.
In your video, you judge the situation on the board based on the indications of the Lichess chess engine. You are making a big mistake here. This engine is very weak and only counts a few moves forward, that's why it is so fast. This is where you want to know exactly what time it is and the clock would only show you full hours without minutes and seconds. My advice: install a chess program with a good engine on your local computer and analyze your chess sets there. I guarantee that your frustrations visible in your video will disappear immediately.
Sir what you are doing is very much funny.i saw this vedio from start to end. If you are not sure about traxler counter gambit theory. Then you should study it by yourself with the engine first.then going to start making vedios. If teacher is confused then what will do Student like us. I also watch some of your etalian game theoris and you have lots of mistakes there. Don't get this comment in negetive way.thankyou
I actually really like the video because of that imperfection. It shows you how dangerous and complex this opening is, reflecting the kind of thinking process you have to go through in a real game. Would you find the right moves in an OTB game when the lichess analysis engine fails? We are used to trusting the move/evaluation the engine immediately throws at us, because in "normal" positions that will be barely distinguishable from the very best. But Traxler is complicated, even for engines.

I like how tricky this opening is it even confused your engine lol
Engines don't get openings. They focus too much on material
18:55 lol

wow do youi have the link bro? I want to see this :O

Balthazar Beutelwolf dude thank you so much
"Hello everyone, today, I'll continue the series on the SICILIAN DEFENCE"
Wordslip
Lmao I heard that
I met the Traxler for the first time recently and took with the knight on f7. Never again. 😂
I have a whole playlist of chess stuff and I have a whole separate playlist for your stuff. Outstanding work
I really enjoy the part at 16 mins onwards where you keep trying to show the engine saying that Nd7! is a bad move - Nd7 and white is almost certainly lost, simply due to the savage pressure down the F file and the many black pieces lurking in the position.
Playing this opening at the 700-800 level is a lot of fun!
This was enjoyable to watch. Learned some process here of calculating positions.

I learned how higher rated players use engines to analyse games. This is great. And also don’t play c3. Keep up the great videos!!!
Thank you for the great content! ;D
Greetings from Poland
23:26 - the White is lost, because if he wouldn't play Qa4+, he will lose a Queen (he will be more lost xD)
5:15 you made agadmator proud
So many opening videos , I'm so excited
Happy to hear that:)
What I learned from this video: don’t take with the knight.

Gaining more knowledge on opening by your videos thank you
I'm glad to hear that:)
If the engine can't even figure it out, then your opponent definitely can't figure it out.
It's definitely playable if Knight takes f7.
On 🔥 with theory videos . Great lessons from your studies
Thanks:)

At 19:06 from +4 to -4 Lol 😂😂
Yeah... :)
Hanging Pawns:" Black is much worse"
VSauce: "Or is he?"
I watch you from Morocco
Thank you ❤❤
23:19 My engine shows d6 as the best move here.
Nice videos about italian, thank you!
At @28:49 instead of kd7 black play ne4+
What engine are you using? I am just using Lichess (Stockfish) and it says Nxf7 is 0.0. Also says that Bxf7 is 1.3, and d4 is 0.9.
I do not understand why the two main lines are called the Bishop Sacrifice Line or the Knight Sacrifice Line. In neither line is white sacrificing either.
Why do you think after 5
.Bxf7+ Ke7, 6.Bc4 is not so useful? Instead of Bd5 or Bb3
One of my favorite series of lines. This confuses everyone. If I were playing a GM this would be the shot I would take if possible 🙂 Might get lucky.
GM will figure out easily how to confuse you with this opening.
Knight takes on f7 !
Bishop line is slightly better for white, knight line is winning for black or draw
according to my droid fish app which is stronger than the lichess engine c3 loses. It did however think black was lost until it saw Nd7. it now evaluates c3 as losing by -6
it also agrees saying d6 is winning. now it changed its mind to a pawn for white after d6 Qxd6 looks almost equal
Can't assess the position yet really. I'll take a few more sessions:) Thanks!
d6 is the best move rather than c3 for white
After d6 Qxd6 Nf7 Qe7 you got 3 variation h3 c3 d3 you could analyse them and make a video on them I believe you will conclude all 3 variation lead to a draw. So I maintain Bxf7+ is the best move.
This video was weirdly funny
Have you ever pulled off the new line in a game?
Sir which engine and chess software are u using can u please give me the link to download it
So that means he is actually better than the engine ? :D
amazing!!
Engine got confused. Commentator got confused Everybody watching this is even more confused. The game of chess is broken.
Kxf2 ...if Bg4 then Qf1 and Stockfish says +3.1 ...if Ne4+ (the other common move) then Kg1 and the analysis is +7.5.
...nevermind this move is found at the end of the video ...I should have kept watching.
:) thanks for the feedback anyway
I played B-sacrifice line and lost
For anyone wondering white has to play d3 (forcing the queen to move) after Qa4 Nd7, the only move.
Hey by the way i'm not even expert level at chess but thrust me I am more than super gm level at using an engine ;)
I suck at using the engine:D
If Traxler is used in 5 min rapid, it is highly unlikely that White will consistently find the best moves against someone who is studied up on the theory 12-15 moves on the Traxler.
Yeah, unless your opponent is really high level and has studied the theory, it's very likely they will make a mistake and get mated
At least on the Nxf7 line
No thank you I will play the Bishop sac line 😅
Не показывает трикслера почти 10 мин, всё про Фрейд ливер
Cyka Blayt
strange engine 😂

d4 isn't that good imo. It's hard to follow up.

3.Ng5 loses even with traxler

Useless
why did you make this video since you don't know theory and you haven't done preparetion? jesus!!
because this opening is extremely complex, has a lot of traps, and even engine do not know what side is best here
