Llangollen RC Model hot air balloon Meet 2020 (the worlds ONLY annual INDOOR Balloon Festival)

- Welcome to Llangollen Pavilion home to the Worlds only annual indoor RC model balloon meet, a unique even which is held each year in the winter (When ballooning in the UK is in it's closed season).
This February day was particular windy and inside the tented structure the wind was moving the balloons about nicely.
12 teams attended from across the UK bringing a number of balloons each to the event. The day as always is filled with family fun flying and challenges, technology and ideas for future balloon building projects.

Hello,
I am about to finish my tissue paper balloon in a couple of weeks.
I wanted to know which type of string or thin rope I should use to attached the envelope to the basket.
There are loads of natural and artificial fabric with their pros and cons, braided or twisted.
Have you got any recommendations?
It’s got keep the same strength at 130 Cel. deg to be sure. It’s gonna be heated with 3 small candles.

I think it’s about 4 cubic meters with 10 gores.
I use 2mm diameter kevlar cord but you could try picture frame wire or piano wire, or metal fishing line if you like, I've seen all kind used

I really enjoy watching your work. Unfortunately we don't have rc baloons here in South Africa. It would be nice to get more commentary as to what the guys are doing or attempting to do so that we, the uneducated can get a better understanding of what we are looking at. There are one or two - I shipped an envelope out to some ballooning friends who lived in Johannesburg back in 2008 as a kit of fabric parts, the chap and his mum built a couple of balloons around that time - I've been a little camera / mic shy over the years, but I'm finding my voice so hoping I can pass on more information in future video's, any particular subjects your looking for details on?

I've started talking with people about getting one of these made for myself. I already have the envelope design chosen, it'll be based off my friends old Aerostar.

@Earth well as they say "the sky is the limit" people can spend Thousands £/$/Euro getting a balloon of the design they like. I've filmed the build of my latest 40m3 kit, so it would be cool to make a video "subscriber buys balloon kit to build" - My plan so far however is that there will be an auction of the kit, once the video goes out in a couple of weeks but SHHH that's a secret ;-)
