The Wholeness of hūṃ

  • Originating from Sanskrit, the syllable hūṃ literally means ‘gather together’. More elaborately - the five parts which make up the syllable hūṃ represents the five wisdoms of the five Buddha families and the five elements, all embodied within it's blessed potency.
    It is also said that the sound of hūṃ contains and resonates the entire cannon of the holy Dharma.
    Pure-gold gilded on this folio of Bhutanese #deshopaper is the hūṃ character residing within its own aura. To the side are scribed the words in the classical Uchen script:
    'The very nature of the five Buddha families is complete within hūṃ.’
    At a modest 250x173mm this piece is one #tashimannox 'Little Gem’ series.
