I think the joint ill may well be to do with using hay to bed up, it quickly compacts down, not having the resilience of straw, pen hygiene essential to prevent bacterial build up too. Anyway, a very happy birthday to Ada.

when I am tagging I dip the tag in disinfectant after I put the tag on the applicator and before I put it in the ear
