Regarding whether Trump incited a riot on January 6, the legal standard for incitement is high, requiring proof of intent to cause imminent lawless action. To my knowledge, there is no statement by Trump that clearly directs violence or illegal acts. Even if his speech was unofficial, I don't believe there is sufficient evidence of intent. Additionally, it should be noted that there is evidence suggesting he did not condone violence. During the speech, he said, "peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard," and afterwards, he tweeted: "I am asking for everyone at the U.S. Capitol to remain peaceful. No violence! Remember, WE are the Party of Law & Order - respect the Law and our great men and women in Blue. Thank you! Please support our Capitol Police and Law Enforcement. They are truly on the side of our Country. Stay peaceful!"

      @@Icureditwithmybrain Indeed.
And people say "tried to overturn the election" as of this is necessarily bad.
There are constitutional means to challenge an election, and a presumptive election can be constitutionally (legally) overturned subsequent to such a challenge
