Thank you, very useful information for me
I am glad people are also making these kind of travel advice video's because everybody deserves to travel without to much worries. I can imagine travelling with a weelchair must be a little bit more troublesome :s
very good info, tyvm 4 sharing. would love to hear more peer travel experiences
I can't believe I found this video only now!
1:18 I hope you won't need the tools you appear to be missing.
I don't have a power chair but this time to Mexico I zap strapped my cushion to my chair so they couldn't lose it
I have found they will ask about the batteries. At least with a mobility scooter. They have a specific travel ready definition on airplanes. At least one type of battery is banned Icr which one they specified, they love Gell cells. Glue would also be in the tool kit for use, we scooters have a lot of fiberglass that cracks easily with traveling. Bang on the other advice, thank you for posting it
Will the security at the airport allow you to board with this tool kit?
Hi Dani, good question! You'd have to check with the airport itself - but these tools are still useful to have before and after the flight (if you're checking a bag)
how bout the batteries?
Wheelchair accessibility is better in the Caribbean than in Europe?
I'm sure parts of it can be, is that your experience? Tell us about it! I think many travellers to the Caribbean from North America find the all inclusive resorts to be fairly accessible, though outside of those areas accessibility in the Caribbean can be more difficult depending on where you are.
I didn't really know I could take my power chair on a plane, I usually use my main one
Power chairs can require a bit more planning - but yes, most airlines take them! Hopefully you don't have to compromise

I'll have to try it when I go visit my cousin.
A good way to travel is with a manual wheelchair. They're quite resistant and can withstand a lot of abuse
