You know a fight is a major pain in the ass when even an MTQ video starts to feel long.
I'm halfway through the video and I think "ok, that's a lot of stuff, but it should be over soon... 9 minutes to go??? the fuck is with this fight??"
This is not for me. T5 I could do, but this is on a whole nother level. That said, I very much appreciate the video.

Some tips I found when dealing with coil fights.
1. Watch video multiple times until you can hear Mizzteq in your head telling you what the next phase has in store.
2. Don't expect to one shot a fight, unless you paid to be carried by a group.
3. Don't panic.
4. Don't play when tired. Get some rest and stay hydrated.
5. Use TS, Mumble, Skype, whatever works but use a voice chat system.
6. Don't panic.
7. If you don't understand how something works or what these crazy way points are for, ask BEFORE the battle starts.
8. Check your gear, food supply (you and your character), and accuracy caps.
9. Don't panic.
10. If you are going to PF this. Don't join farming groups and expect them to be nice to you if it's your first time. Similarly, don't join learning groups and expect one shots and farming to occur.
11. Don't panic.

Yay, I'm really happy to finally see your T9 win and long awaited guide! Been a long time fan of yours ever since I came back to play in 2.1. Wouldn't have made it this long without your guides to help me along. I've been trying to down T9 with my static for a month now, kind of flying on written guides blindly but I feel so much more informed after watching this. Thanks Mizzteq and co! Can't wait to see what you guys down next :)!

Yeah I like Mr. Happy, but he throws out WAY too many numbers that isn't always necessary. His content can be helpful for more simple stuff, but for harder fights he almost makes me more anxious.

Finally. Finally a guide that I can actually make heads and tails of for this fight! All the other ones are throwing out so much explanation with little context or organization.
Not gonna like, I've been using your guides as a primer on fights and I've had very little difficulty getting clears as a result, and I've since recommended your guides to everyone I know who plays XIV. Looking forward to seeing your coverage of 2.4 when it gets here!
I enjoyed turns 6-8. The right amount of challenge and reward but this is just too much. I don't have a static and use PF for most things and I kind of feel without a static coil isn't worth it past turn 8. You can't practice this with a PUG and even if you progress I expect to see the usual 'no 100 sol' messages
This is the best guide out for this fight!!! I think I'll end up completing this really soon I'm not having any issues with anything before heavensfall, just need to tighten up and make sure everyone is on the same page. I'm still trying to get the fire and ice debuff mechs. So far the most challenging fight I've been in, I'm 3 months new to this game and mmo. I hear Asavage and Thordan ex are right up there though. Thanks for the guide!

I just got into this yesterday in preparation for endwalker, If you're doing this solo make sure you choose a class that can DPS the golems FAST and has some sustain, meteors hurt... I did it with SAM.

My FC did a run of this last night. XD After lots of screaming and wiping and a tiny lalafell being chased by the boss numerous times, we finally did it! \o/
i hope you did it lvl 50. and not lvl 60/70. which is rly boring and then you didnt "did it". you cheated it.

Hooo boy. I've been catching up on unfinished dungeons recently, and I got up to this fight. Holy crap, it's hard. I'm going to watch this video a few times and then hopefully try again with some people who know what they're doing.

18 minutes? Holy shit. No wonder my FC leader is pulling his hair out to beat this Turn. Slowly catching up as I just made it to Second Coil but won't attempt it until I am at least ilvl 105. Currently 100 but I want to make the rate of success that much more, but there's no accounting for terrible teammates. I really want the Second Coil set for my Paladin.

My static just started running T6. I am completely terrified of this turn... And it makes me want to pee myself when I think about what new terrors the final coil will bring.

Because no one ever joins my party finder listing I still struggle to solo this one. I can get to the final phase but always end up dying to an insta-kill mechanic with the dragons. They come at me too fast to deal with properly since I have no allies to split the elemental attacks with. I just want to finish the Coils damn it u_u

Well, the coil is clearly NOT made for stoners or people with short attention spans.
Jean-Francois Beland am a stone, have cleared up to t8, working on clearing t9 right now. It just takes having the same 6-8 people with you to learn it. Its hard to pug, I dont really have a so called static in my fc, but i do have a regular group of 6-8 people learning the content.

This guide is still relevant, even in Endwalker. I was able to clear T9 unsynced SMN solo at level 90. You want to watch out where Heavensfall knocks you back. However you want to burn Nael quickly before you get Icebitten, Firescorched, or Thunderstruck. Doing this at minimum ilvl will be a handful.
We finally pulled it off after a good few hours. Winged the last phase thanks to healer LB3, doing as much dps as possible and our tank doing the last few hits at 0.1% while the team was dead again...
I think I now understand the Divebombs better after watching the section again and thinking about it though, but that's what I thought before the fight as well xD
even unsynced this took me like 6 tries

I have one question though. How big is the explosion radius for Raven's Beak? I'm a melee, so it's kind of important XD
I know not to be near the tank when it goes off, but would I be at a safe distance if I stood behind Nael at max melee range?

I got on at 7am yesterday I thought of lots of different idea but in the end i'm standing by this one, after your outburst on FC chat I couldn't escape the words "I struggled and pugged for a year to get what you gave Himori in one night (T1-T4)", I can't stand the idea that all this time with me helping people get passed things that you; disliked others for being helped where you werent. That you were doing it to get them on your side and not as a kindness. My image of you shattered and I saw why you were so angry at Rose and Rue cause you felt like "You gave them your time and they owned you and by leaving the FC they betrayed you", and if someone offered you something like Pheebs wanting you to tank in his FC you didn't want to be beholden to them to owe them anything, and you used me maybe coming back as reason not to leave the FC and join people that wanted to run with you.
OoiNi Ng Why? What is so wrong with him saying that it was "easy", I mean the irony of this on a guide video, your telling me you get no joy out of him not having to struggle like you did. That's the moment you changed in my eyes, you went through a bad experience then got angry when someone didn't? They have such a good time with the carry that we provided they called it "easy" and you have rant about it? That because they didn't suffer the way you did and that when they asked for help someone was there for them, instead of being that person to help them and hope that they carry on the line, you then get angry and throw around your pain and past experiences in a hope to make them feel what? This is a bad time to find out that Nael Deus Darnus is unsoloable even at level 80. Since there's only one person, the golems will always all aggro to me, bringing them close enough together to merge and make a super golem. The super golem is impossible to kill and if it's the demolish golem, the damage is percentage based so it will still kill me.
Red Mage can solo it as I've done. For phase 1 with golems you literally stand still and heal through any meteors exploding from being too close. Spam Vercure since it can be interrupted. When golems come down you want a Dualcast and Swiftcast ready (as in have both buffs up instead of waiting to use Swiftcast after they spawn) as well as most oGCDs off CD to burst two of them down immediately. Remember Enchanted Reprise is an instant cast and a Potency Per Second increase over dualcasting Fire/Stone into Aero/Thunder, however I don't recommend it for golems in particular unless it's to finish off the second to last one. Since the other two golems fall in random spots it's entirely possible for just two or even one golem to spawn, but ideally you want to be prepared to have to handle all 3. After that for phase 2 you have to hold your DPS at 50% and wait for the second cast of Heavensfall. The second you see the cast bar for the Heavensfall after killing the add is when you want to start DPSing might be safe to have Surecast up as well to potentially avoid the knockback during your melee combo and I encourage to single weave between the 1st and 2nd part of the combo. This cast animation locks her and give you about 15s to burst her to dead before the elemental mechanics kill you so naturally you should have mana at 80/80 or above (or 40/40+ with Manafication ready) and oGCDs off CD to net a full burst that'll kill her. I've done this with an ilvl of 465 or so, so it's definitely even easier now. Remember Red Mage should not have Spell Speed and should focus Crit > DH > Det.
I've seen Paladins do it and I've done it on Black Mage.

This video would have been a billion times better without that background music. This video has a glut of strategy details delivered very quickly along with text notes popping up everywhere and constant screen transitions. And then that music is tossed on top so you need extra focus to hear the words.

This was doable but kind of a pain on ilvl 509 warrior solo. Probably a bit of luck involved since I wasn't sure which one of us died when the screen faded to black.

fights like thase that people say are "hard" is what makes me laugh ... yes it took me a while to clear it but made me so happy to be one of the "few" to do so ... of course now this fight is simple comp. to t13 anywho GL HF people !

good guide but u need to slow down. The human brain cannot absorb brand new mechanics at 150 mph. I have to rewind on some parts like 5x to comprehend what u just said lol. Even a couple seconds pause in talking after a mechanic would help.
I have question; today my pf group got to p4 but a little weird Nael still summoned the third add, bahamuts favour + add the group and i panicked and didnt know what to do and therefor wiped. what would you reckomend us doing if it happens again.?

I'm pretty sure no-one has an overly proportianate head that can absorb 18 mins of constant information, not even MTQcapture and her static when 'attempting' new bosses.
As she stated by her, and more than likely a response by a lot of my groups + other kill groups, that you should always, always just take 1 phase at a time.
Repetition is key. Burning phases into your memory is pretty much the only way to succeed.

Robert Williams ice hits party members and debuffs one by one. fire targets someone and after 4-5 sec they get hit causing aoe fire debuff.
So:
first one to get fire gets out of stacked people
second fire goes in group for people to negate the ice they already have.
third out
etc. etc.
This is just a random idea for a two tank group but is it possible to have the second tank provoke the boss before ravensbeak is cast so the main tank takes no damage from it?
