Hikaru is a super computer. He knows all the lines and can tell when something isn't right in terms of specific move order, etc. It's crazy, but really cool to watch.
Seems like only yesterday that Noah was a little kid. Still my favorite along with Carlini! Almost forgot...we can't thank Naka enough for continuing to come back for more! Thanks a billion Hikaru!!!
yeah they put much pressure on Noah. He was really great on first game, but yeah because of Hikaru's blunder also take part on his success (great game even he lose).
Great games! Great commentary! It's amazing how Hikaru comes down to play with you guys there. Thanks for sharing and thanks for the amazing games with Super GM Hikaru!
Noah is a very talented player but the engine doesn't tell the truth about his position against Nakamura who had all the pressure, open lines and perfect control over d3. It's a miracle the engine says black advantage is small but from a humans point white looked like losing.
I'm new to chess and i don't see the HUGE issue. Is it just hikaru noticing the really bad move and not allowing him to do it to make the game more enjoyable between the two. Again completely new to chess still trying to learn.
@@martincalvillo3210 Saccing the bishop like that on f7 is a common idea in the Evans Gambit, but not when Black has a knight on d8 watching that pawn...
He has only two legal moves, which are Kxg2 (king takes rook) and Kh1 (moving the king to the corner), after both Noah can play Qxh3 (Queen takes the pawn in front of the rook). If Kh1 was played Qxh3 it's just mate, if Kxg2 was played Qxh3 would've been a check and the only legal move was Kg1, but then Qh2 or Qh1 are both mate.
For sure he’s a poker player lol. You play with your chips to focus away from your facial expressions and to annoy/impress other players with your shuffling. He’s doing the same to chess players to reduce their focus haha
Noah's previous game against Hikaru was more impressive, that bishop blunder (with the successive rook taking knight with check) was the end of the game. I remember when Noah was a real novice, and now a few years later he's playing the 19th world chess player. Long live Coffee Chess community!
When he was new I felt like he was just putting up a show hiding his real strength. His game against Kai was my favorite on this channel. He kept offering pieces like no tomorrow playing cat and mouse. He may be 2500 or sth on Lichess.
It was a bad move cause he woulda sacrificed a bishop for pawn. It was an almost blunder. He even realized it himself and was quickly retracted even as they were all saying: What are you doing?
It feels like it's been ages since I've seen Noah on this channel! Great to see him again. Is it me, or is Noah looking like a young Bruce Lee! I am seriously not being racist here, as I am a minority myself and a big fan of Bruce Lee. Please let his new nickname be the Chess Dragon 🐲. We all know he's not a novice!
Constructive criticism for the analysis parts. We can see from the evaluation bar when a particular move causes a dramatic change. The analysis always goes to the move and asks what would be a better move. I'd often like to see, when it isn't an obvious blunder, why the move was so bad in the first place, not just what is better. That c3 move in the first game looked harmless.
it is hard to gambit a pawn against a GM . you gambit a pawn for a quick development but after the game got equalized you left with a pawn down. a pawn is a pawn for GMs.
That isn’t really what happened in the game though, hikaru gave the pawn back but it cost Noah his pawn structure. Noah had some isolated weak pawns and difficulty with development due to the structure
He could’ve won it at least on time, hadn’t he traded his pieces and instead kept the attack going. The evans gambit is so insanely complex that I believe with good preparation on it you can beat an unprepared gm on time with timeodds like that
In the first game, how was the rook (giving check) being protected? It seems it could have just been taken by the white king? Edit. Oh I think I see, next move is black queen to A6...
At 9;46 of this video, instead of Bishop C5 after Hikaru moved his Knight to C5: Noah should move His own Bishop to G5 so The white Bishop still guarding the white Knight at D2 at the same time attacking Hikaru's Rook at D8. If the Black Rook of Hikaru moved away then Noah can move his own Rook from A1 to D1 so the white Knight can go elsewhere Then the game would continue depending on where Hikaru moved his pieces.
I'm late as hell, but since nobody answered you, Its a standard tournament set/board with Staunton pieces (3.75" King). People like them because the companies that make the sets follow FIDE and USCF guidelines so every board plays the same and the tiles are usually coloured which is easier on the eyes. Most people like green.
-No chat chat, look look , the position was over, takes takes takes check check takes mate in 2. You see why he had no options Yeah I had little time it's true
I’ve been getting into chess this past month and watching vids every now and then. But I don’t understand why the game ends at the end when Noah and hikaru moved the rooks. I understand that the King would’ve taken the rook and Noah would’ve just had pawns left but why does it stop there?
I was wondering this too, im Quite new to chess too. Im guessing because hikaru had a pawn that would of been promoted to a queen which is pretty much game over vs noahs pawns

Hikaru is a class act. He's so good on coffee chess. It's great when someone with his skills takes time to promote the sport.
Every time I see these collaborations with Hikaru I click the video faster than the speed of light. Practically made a hole on my screen. Cheers!

Mike was there, he should've been giving lessons.
Hikaru “No it’s not alright” lol 😂
Looking back at this a year later.....man what a good game...the first game. Noah knows some really fun lines!!!
The backseat drivers are killing me. It’s like they’re expecting praise from Hikaru for stating the obvious instead of more likely pissing him off
really awesome for those who have seen noah grow both in chess and in physical appearance
B4 is on the board. Agad would be proud!

C3 was bad because it’s too slow
There's a reason why white's Queen-side Knight developed late and the A rook never took part in the game. That's why C3 was a bad move.
When does Hikaru play THE Chedi Knight?
